Kim Kardashian is Pregnant!!

Okay, I seriously vowed never to blog about the Kardashians, but I am honestly a bit shocked by this news and thought I’d share it.  E! has confirmed that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are indeed expecting their first child together.  Kanye first announced it at his concert Sunday night.  Holy crap!

Adrienne Maloof reportedly not coming back to RHOBH

According to Tamara Tattles sources claim Adrienne Maloof will not be returning for another season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.  This is coming after the episodes have hit about Brandi spreading a secret about Adrienne that has turned BH upside down.  According to WetPaint, the secret that Brandi revealed about Adrienne is that she used a surrogate for the births of her boys.  Once Kim told Adrienne that Brandi had revealed this to the other ladies, Adrienne and Paul Nassif go crazy on Brandi…. calling her names and apparently (off camera) even tried to sue her over it.  Later in the season we will see that Adrienne, and possibly some others, try blaming Brandi for her divorce to Padrienne-maloof-secret-brandi-glanville-rhobhaul.   Which, anyone can see starting back in Season 1, that their marriage was doomed from the start.  Adrienne has never had any respect for Paul.   So anyway, flash forward to present day… Adrienne is no longer married, she’s been caught in several lies (including that Paul is abusive towards his children – which I don’t believe for a second), she has few friends left, and if it weren’t for Brandi spreading these rumors, Adrienne would actually have a very boring storyline and personality.  So when I had seen that she won’t be coming back and it wasn’t her decision, I wasn’t surprised at all.

The only thing that disappoints me is that despite the way she treated Paul during Season 1, I felt as if she was one of the more sane ones.  She has probably the most money out of the housewives (maybe tied with Lisa Vanderpump) and yet she had this down to earth air about her that borderlined low class (i.e. the glitter streaks in her hair).  She used to seem the peacemaker but turns out she was just keeping the drama hidden well beneath the surface.

My prediction on who Adrienne’s replacement will be?  Faye Resnick.  This is pure speculation, and even though  I’m not a fan of hers, I feel Faye Resnick would be a great on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for shear entertainment value.  She is not afraid to give Brandi a run for her money and stand up to her or anyone else.  She will let anyone know how she feels about anything they have going on in their lives.  I don’t think she has a filter and she has a way of cutting the chase and getting to the point quickly.

2012 in review for amandatalkstv

Not bad for the first year of blogging under this domain!  I have had fun blogging about TV this past year and appreciate everyone who has read the blogs!  Below is the annual summary.

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 7,000 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 12 years to get that many views.

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills: So what did Brandi say about Adrienne that Bravo won’t air?

I just finished this week’s RHOBH episode and I’m sure just like you, I immediately Googled what the big secret was that Bravo won’t air that Brandi said about Adrienne.  According to WetPaint the secret is that Adrienne used a surrogate to birth her children.  I can see why this wouldn’t be aired in order to protect the minor children, but really?  This is the HUGE deal that Paul flipped out about?  If it is, it could have been a done deal if Adrienne just fessed up and said, “yeah I did, so what?”  Afterall, Camille Grammer has been honest about her use of a surrogate all along.  And why did Kim feel the need to tell her, from what seemed like, the second she walked into Mauricio’s party?  Not exactly the time or place, and it looks like Kyle addresses that with her in next week’s episode.  Lastly, I find it sad to watch these episodes of Adrienne and Paul acting so sweetly together just to know that now they are divorced and an ugly divorce at that.

The Voice: Sylvia Yacoub

So I took a break from blogging while I was busy with election things.  Now that the election is over and I’m finally recouped I think it’s time to pick this back up again.

I have only watched The Voice in past seasons a few episodes here and there.  I’ve liked it, but just had a hard time keeping up with it when it’s typically on a total of 3 hours a week.  Well this season is different because a very talented young lady from my hometown, Sylvia Yacoub, has made it all the way through and now is in the top 10 finalists.  I do not know her personally, but I have been to a few performances at my high school alma mater where she has had solos and have found her to be phenomenal.  She played the part of Audrey II in the musical Little Shop of Horrors and I remember thinking then, “this girl needs someone to discover her.”  Sylvia sounded better than most of the people currently on the radio.  The fact that she’s gorgeous doesn’t hurt either.

Week after week I have tuned in to The Voice along with the rest of Muskegon, MI to see what Sylvia’s going to sing next and if she will make it through to the next round.  On American Idol, they tend to show the hometowns a lot from where the contestants are from.  I have always loved how the communities rally around this new star and how proud they are of them.  Well on the Voice they don’t seem to show that on camera as much, but that doesn’t take away the fact that we are all proud to have someone as talented as Sylvia be from our hometown!  Even if she didn’t have the connection to Muskegon, MI, she would be my favorite finalist this season.  She has the most talent and range out of everyone.  Can’t wait to see what she will sing next!

So tune in each week to NBC’s The Voice and vote for Sylvia by texting, calling, voting online, and buying that week’s song on itunes!  We are so proud of you, Sylvia!!

Emily Maynard and Jef Holm Split

Emily Maynard and Jef with one f Holm splitting is not a shocker to anyone, but it still makes me sad.  I was really rooting for this couple and love both of them as much as anyone can love someone on TV.  I don’t believe anything bad that anyone has ever said about Emily.  I think she’s sugary sweet and wonderful.  And Jef… Jef is someone I would have picked for myself, so why wouldn’t I love him being with Emily?  But like so many relationships, not just Bachelor/Bachelorette relationships, they come to an end.   According to Twitter, Jef is hanging with Arie for a few days in Arizona.  Maybe there’s another Bachelor reject that Jef will meet and have a fling with just as Arie did with Courtney.

Jef, Emily, and Ricki

I am sure both Emily and Jef will not have any trouble finding new loves.  I wish them all the best!

Binders Full of Women

A break from Reality TV blogging for actual reality:

Even if you missed the debates last night, there is no escaping Mitt Romney’s statement about “Binders Full of Women.”  When asked about equal pay for women, Romney responded: “And I—and I went to my staff, and I said, ‘How come all the people for these jobs are—are all men.’ They said: ‘Well, these are the people that have the qualifications.’ And I said: ‘Well, gosh, can’t we—can’t we find some—some women that are also qualified?’ And—and so we—we took a concerted effort to go out and find women who had backgrounds that could be qualified to become members of our cabinet. I went to a number of women’s groups and said: ‘Can you help us find folks,’ and they brought us whole binders full of women.”

Binders full of women has taken on a life of itself own on the internet.  This has become bigger than Janet Jackson’s Superbowl “wardrobe malfunction” aka NippleGate or Psy’s “Gangnam Style” video.  There is already a website: http://bindersfullofwomen.tumblr.com/ and Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/romneybindersfullofwomen dedicated to this phrase that has shown in more than one way how out of touch Romney is with the American voters, women in particular.  I won’t go into my own politcal beliefs on why I found this entire segment of the debate appalling, but rather thought I would point readers to these hilarious websites that make light of what is actually a very serious problem with the Romney campaign/beliefs.  I leave you with this Clinton meme:

Real Housewives of New Jersey: Reunion part 3 Recap (2012)

Happy to be watching one of the RHONJ Reunion episodes live so I can blog about it!  What a crazy ride this season has been.  It is so sad to see how Teresa has changed over the years.  The first season I thought Teresa was the sweetest.  Now you can tell just how jealous she really is of Melissa.  This episode has the husbands and Kim D!  Going to be great!

The reunion starts out with Andy addressing Caroline about a prediction she made with Teresa and Joe’s marriage.  The clips shows Caroline saying that Teresa is showing how she stood by Joe as long as she could, but if something should happen (like a prison sentence) that would leave Teresa no choice but to divorce Joe, then she can then say, “I did all I could, and now mommy has to be strong and make it on my own”… “There’s a book there somewhere, you’ll see.”  Caroline says.  Joe calls her a know-it-all and she’s just full of hate.  Caroline says it was about her taking a very sensitive matter in her life and taking it to the press.

Andy then brings up Joe Giudice’s legal woes. Joe says his case with the DMV is still ongoing and he’s not worried.  Whatever happens, happens.  He says he turned down a plea deal.  Andy points out he could go to jail for 10 years… Joe still says he’s not worried.  Andy points out that Teresa talked about the case in InTouch magazine but she gets mad if Melissa or Kathy bring it up on the show.  Teresa just keeps repeating “I asked my family not to talk about it on the show!”  Andy keeps asking what the difference is between talking about it nationally in a magazine or talking about it nationally on TV.  She responds with, “Am I talking Chinese??  I asked them not to discuss it!”  Melissa pipes in and says, “and we asked you not to talk about whether I was a stripper or not.  We’re even!”  Joe then says that Jacqueline’s husband Chris met her as a stripper.  Jacqueline says they met in Chicago!

Now the rest of the husbands sans Mr Manzo join.  This is the first time Joe Gorga has seen his sister Teresa in a year – since the Posche Fashion Show.  Joe Gorga says that Joe Giudice hates him just because he’s so successful.  Giudice says it’s all over borrowed tools that were not returned.

Some discussion over Richie’s erection being shown on tv and how that impacts the kids…. ewwww…  He says he tells them “how do you think you came into this world?”

Giudice’s legal troubles get brought up again.  More squabbling among everyone… can’t decipher much of what is being said.  Same arguments over and over…

The accusation was that Chris met Jacqueline when she was a stripper in Vegas.  In truth, they met at a trade show in Chicago.  Now Teresa is saying she heard Jacqueline was a stripper from Caroline.  Now THAT’S funny!  Caroline would have never spoken badly about Jacqueline since Chris is her brother.  That’s just ridiculous.  Gorga starts yelling “What the hell is wrong with a stripper?!”  So true!!  Then Andy just drops the bomb that Gorga was a Chippendale’s dancer!  He said “absolutely!”  He had an elephant g-string!  So funny that he ended up being the stripper.

Richie and Giudice get into it and the fight between them that busted out at Jacqueline’s house gets brought up.  It was an accident, basically, but they’re arguing who grabbed the other one first.

Chris talks about the heartache it’s been having an estranged relationship with his sister, Dina, and he can only assume that Teresa has something to do with their strained relationship.

So it goes back to did Teresa call Melissa a stripper?  Teresa yells “Prove it, bitch!” to Melissa that Teresa was somehow involved in the fiasco of the season finale when Melissa was set up.  A man claiming Melissa had stripped for him at his club asked Teresa about it first at the salon with Kim D.  Then later that night at the fashion show, he approaches Melissa very creepily and says “Hi Melissa, do you remember me?”  Teresa later tells Melissa about how that same guy came up to her earlier that day and said that she used to strip for him.  Long story short, Teresa was soooo in on that!  It’s completely obvious.  So back to the reunion now… Gorga tells Teresa she needs to cut this stuff out.  He wouldn’t care if she had been a stripper, even though she wasn’t.  It wouldn’t cause a divorce, she’s the perfect girl for him.  Teresa brings up the parents and Gorga gets very emotional and starts flipping out.  He says she took his parents away from him and his kids don’t have grandparents now because of her.  Oh so sad! Teresa said she would never do that to him!

Andy then calls out Kim D.  All the husbands start swearing.  Andy asks her flat out what was Teresa’s involvement.  Kim D says she wasn’t involved.  Kim says her beef with Melissa is that Melissa was promoting another store with the same spelling.  Kim D confirms that Teresa knew something was going down that night – but not what.  Teresa gets all crazy and says “I never said you were a stripper!!!”  Melissa said, “Looks at my eyes – you and I are done!  I am done with you!”

Chris points out that the stuff between Teresa and Joe Gorga is not important and that they need to come together.  They both have so much heartache, and I obviously feel most for the Gorgas.  Teresa needs to learn what’s important in life.  Whether or not her sister-in-law is a stripper is not important.  It’s sad that she has put a strain on his relationship with his parents too.  They could die at any moment and he won’t ever be able to mend that relationship.  It’s actually very depressing to watch this storyline of the show.  I hope next season one of the two pairs doesn’t return.

Teresa says she’s lost her voice, Andy says he’s lost his hearing.  lol  Final thoughts by Caroline Manzo:  She says the only way to heal is to speak to your truth.  Things are bad with her and her sister Dina – but there’s love.  And where there’s love, there’s hope.  Can’t have this much pain without love.  So true.

Courtney Robertson and Arie Luyendyk Jr are moving on… together

The easiest way to get over a heartache is to find someone new.   That’s at least the theory that Bachelor winner of Ben’s season Courtney Robertson and Emily Bachelorette runner up Arie Luyendyk Jr are going with.  TMZ posted pictures of the two on a romantic date last night and exchanging some smooches.  Courtney posted on Twitter: “Beautiful night… #RedWineImFine http://instagr.am/p/QquAfikuap/”   with the link going to a picture she had taken through Instagram showing two glasses of wine.  I say more power to them.  I always thought Courtney and Ben were mismatched anyway, and I’m a big fan of Arie’s.  And that’s all I have to say about that.
