???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Oh, Juan Pablo!!! I knew there must be a flaw in there somewhere, but this is really disappointing!  People.com reports that when Juan Pablo was asked about if there ever should be a Gay Bachelor, he responded that it would be a bad example for children.  Juan Pablo states: “I respect [gay people], but honestly I don’t think it’s a good example for kids to watch that on TV.”

The question I’d like to ask JP is “Is there any version of the Bachelor that’s appropriate for children to watch on TV?”  I certainly don’t let my kids watch it… granted my oldest is only 6 years old.  But seriously, this past week we saw a girl get belligerently drunk, other girls getting naked, and there can be a whole lot of kissing including the “overnight suite” episode.  This is not kid appropriate material.

“Obviously people have their husband and wife and kids, and that is how we are brought up,” Galavis said.

“Now there is fathers having kids and all that, and it is hard for me to understand that, too, in the sense of a household having peoples … two parents sleeping in the same bed and the kid going into bed. It is confusing in a sense, but I respect them because they want to have kids, they want to be parents.”

This is all just very sad to me.  There is nothing wrong with gay people having kids.  They are not any less loving, nurturing, caring than straight people.

“And there’s this thing about gay people, that it seems to me, and I don’t know if I’m mistaken or not, you know I have a lot of friends and that, they’re more pervert in a sense. To me the show would be too strong, too hard to watch on TV.”

Basically Juan Pablo feels all gay people are child molesters.   This is just plain ignorant and pathetic.

Do you feel this will hurt The Bachelor’s ratings? The Bachelor producers have already gotten heat for being racist.  In the 30ish seasons of Bachelor/Bachelorette there has never been one who is black.  Furthermore, when there are black contestants vying for the affection of the Bachelor/Bachelorette they are usually cut within the first couple episodes.  I realize the opinions of Juan Pablo do not necessarily reflect those of the producers, but he is by far the highest rated Bachelor of all time.  For him to say these things publicly could hurt the show.

You have broken my heart, Juan Pablo!  I thought you were more accepting of a person than this.  Truly disappointed.
