Celebrity Apprentice Recap: “I’m Going to Mop the Floor With You” season 12, episode 5
Nine minutes into the show, the project managers have been chosen, and I’m saying it’s a total crap shoot at this point who will win based on the PM. For Unanimous, the men’s team, they have chosen Lou Ferrigno, and the women’s team, Forte, has gone with Tia Carrere. Now, who doesn’t love Tia from the days of Wayne’s World? The problem is, on this show, she hasn’t proven to be too bright. And Lou, he just thinks his biggest assets are his muscles as prove by his round of pushups he did after announcing he’s project manager. Oy. The task is to make a viral video to promote an O Cedar mop. Lou’s bright idea…. have him be in the video flexing his muscles. Ugh!! Dayana shouts out idea after idea and none of the girls are open to hearing any of them. Maybe they’re not the best ideas, but they’re not even listening enough to give her a chance. Meanwhile, Aubrey acts like she’s the smartest, most creative person on the team (which maybe she is) but her arrogance is getting a bit annoying as well.
“What’s Your Number” was the concept the women came up with. Lisa Lampanelli suggested that they make it look like how many sex partners have you had, but really it’s about how many mops have you had in your life. Really… how many people know how many mops they’ve had? Wouldn’t be my choice, but maybe they can pull it off. The men’s brainstorming session on what concept they should go with isn’t going so well. Any idea Lou throws out (albeit they’re all about superheroes, go figure) Penn keeps shooting down and being condescending. Clay Aiken actually sticks up for Lou and puts Penn in his place for a minute calling him out on the fact that all he’s doing is shooting down ideas but not coming up with anything better. Clay goes on to attack Penn a little further and Penn actually backed down and apologized. That is awesome! The men finally came up with the idea “I’ll Mop the Floor With You” and started to roll with it. Penn continued to pout throughout the day after Clay stood up to him.
Meanwhile, the majority of the girls have decided they hate their concept, and it’s actually made them grow closer together (i.e. Debbie and Aubrey) because they all have something in common… they hate Tia’s idea. Now that they have shown the taping of both the men’s and the women’s videos, I am completely rooting for the men. Makes me angry that better women weren’t chosen for this show. Women are seriously not typically this stupid, truly! I think there will definitely be a man celebrity apprentice winner this season.
Presentation time… goes to show it’s only the finished product that matters… the women smoked the men. Their in-person presentation was far better, the video could have featured the product a bit better, but overall their entire package was far better than the men’s. The men should have had someone else do the presentation that had more energy and easier to understand than Lou. At this point, I would say, surprisingly that the women won. However, I predicted wrongly last week, so we’ll see!
Boardroom… everyone is already picking at each other before they even know which team won. I am noticing that the person in the best position right now is Teresa Guidice because she never says anything. She’s completely flying under the radar and not making enemies, but not taking on any responsibilities either. Okay… this boardroom discussion is going on waaaaay too long without knowing who the winner is yet. So much back and forth and finger pointing when it could end up being completely irrelevant. FINALLY an answer…. the men won. Once again I was wrong, oh well. This has been a really boring episode. I really don’t care which of the women go home, honestly. Whoa! Patricia just called out Teresa as the weakest player! Look out! There might be some table flipping coming up! While the women attack each other, the men talk about how self righteous Aubrey is and one says, “no wonder Diddy fired her!” LOL But she does make some decent points if you can get past her arrogance. Tia takes responsibility for the loss and Trump then fires her. Tia Carrere is fired. Wow… very anticlimactic boardroom. Very very long boardroom. Two hours of my life I’ll never get back. Let’s hope the next episode is better!!
Yahoo news reported via Associated Press that Jermaine Jones tweeted that he is off the show! The tweet states: “Awww I will no longer b on the show” from his official Idol account, but it was later deleted.
This is somewhat of a shocker, but given the recent controversy over his statements regarding his father, I am not too surprised. Last week Jermaine said he received a call from his estranged father out of the blue. He stated he had not spoken to his father for years and it disturbed him that now that he’s sort of famous, his dad decided to call him. Come to find out, he fabricated the whole story. Not only does he have an ongoing relationship with his dad, but he was IN THE AUDIENCE supporting his son during last week’s show.
Regardless if the Idol bass singer was fired or chose to leave, the jig (or is it gig in this case?) is up! Will they bring back what’s his face from last week?? We will find out later today!
*** Update from original post: TMZ reports that Jermaine will be leaving the show on Wednesday after he concealed the fact that he was arrested twice last year and has outstanding warrants. “We’re told one of the incidents involved violence, which was particularly troublesome to producers. He also lied to cops by giving them fake names both times he was arrested.” Seems the gentle giant is not as gentle as we thought.
Final Rose episode!! Ben starts off the episode claiming he is in love with two women. Now, most seasons I believe this. I usually believe that the bachelor/bachelorette is seriously torn between two people. However, this season, I have a hard time believing Ben more than “likes” either one of the final girls: Lindzi or Courtney. Maybe it’s just his blah personality, but he seems to be able to take or leave either one of them. He appears to be more physically attracted to Courtney, but I still don’t see anything beyond that.
So it’s Lindzi’s turn to meet the family, and of course they love her and give their stamp of approval for her. She’s the beautiful girl next door with a gorgeous smile who puts everyone at ease because she’s just a comfortable person to be around. No big surprise that Ben’s mom and sister like her.
Courtney is up next and Ben has already told his family that she doesn’t get along with the other women and that she’s a model… both of which his sister sees as red flags. Not smart on his part setting his family up to not like her. Ben insists that what the other girls have seen is not the “real” Courtney. Funny that he insists that when he doesn’t even see all of what goes on in the house. I think Ben already knows his mom and sister won’t like Courtney and that’s why he is so nervous for them to meet her. Ben’s sister tells him that he has her approval of Courtney. The meeting went well, but of course it did… she was the sweet, demure good girl…. nothing like the girl that was in the house. After Ben received his family’s approval, his whole mood changed and you can tell that he likes her more than Lindzi. He had a spark in his eyes that wasn’t there during Lindzi’s visit. I have to say I like Ben’s mom and sister too. They seem supportive and loving.
Ben’s final date with Lindzi just seems very uncomfortable. Ben looks stressed, not happy. He says all the right things, but he keeps looking at the ground when he talks and not directly at her. I feel like Lindzi is still in the friend zone for him. They get along well, but I’m not sure about the chemistry. Dinner part of the date and I am so tired of the word “vulnerable!!” I wish there was a vulnerable counter on this episode. Most over-used word ever! 🙂 Lindzi tells Ben she’s in love with him and she wants to be his fiancee. Ben says “it’s a good thing” no less than three times. Of course, he can’t say anything back because of the show, but I just can’t completely read him. I’d like to think if his mind was made up on Courtney he would stop Lindzi right now and not make her go any further. But maybe he really is still confused? Hmm
Courtney and Ben take a helicopter ride over the Matterhorn… what is The Bachelor’s obsession with flying in a helicopter? Have they ever gone through a season not using a helicopter at least twice? Courtney tries to mask her insecurity by over compensating with confidence. However, Ben does seem so much more at ease with Courtney and happy. He doesn’t seem as serious and stressed as he was with Lindzi. It’s night time now, and guess what?! Courtney is feeling… wait for it…. VULNERABLE! She professes her love for him and then gives him a gift. The gift is a scrapbook of pictures of their dates along with a love note. After she reads it he says, “talk about being vulnerable!” ugh!!! Courtney starts feeling even more insecure after reading the letter and Ben not giving much back – not being able to tell her that he loves her too. So she starts bringing up the past and how she didn’t get along with the other girls and almost picking a fight with Ben, but it all stems from her insecurity and not wanting to lose him.
Each person… first Lindzi, then Courtney, then Ben… step out on their balconies and reflect over the dates and what’s going to happen later today. Just struck me as funny when you take a step back and look at how cheesy it is. Then the ring guy shows up and Ben gets to pick out a ring from this selection of these crazy gorgeous rings. Talk about bling!
They show the girls in their dresses. Both black dresses with capes. Courtney looks especially pretty, but I do not like the black gloves. Lindzi has an emerald color velvet cape that, for whatever reason, reminds me of a cape that Belle wore on Beauty and the Beast. Ben is getting in place to break a girl’s heart… who will be the first one off the helicopter? (Yes, another helicopter) Usually the first one up is the one that gets dumped…. who is it??? No big surprise, but still disappointed, it’s Lindzi. She’s walking the long walk up to him and he’s hardly smiling. She says she loves him, asks him how he’s feeling, and he hesitated. I think she’s figured it out. Her face looks more serious. Ben tells her that he’s fallen in love with her “but I need those moments to last a lifetime and I found that with someone else. I’m in love with someone else.” OUCH. Poor thing. She’s just speechless. Has to be one of the more graceful exists the Bachelor has ever had. She’s a beautiful person inside and out and I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s the next Bachelorette after Emily.
Here comes Courtney’s helicopter…. “I’m a good person and good things happen to good people.” Not so sure about that. She makes her long walk towards Ben. Ben gives his long speech and then tells her he’s in love with her and she starts a mix between crying and giggling. Ben gets down on one knee and proposes and Courtney says yes. I am not exactly jumping up and down out of excitement right now… but they probably deserve each other. He was not the most exciting, charismatic bachelor, and she was not the most likable girl. So there you have it. Lindzi deserves better anyway. At the end of a bachelor/bachelorette season, even if they don’t pick the one I would have chosen, I am usually feeling gushy and lovey dovey regardless. This time I feel nothing. Blah!
Update*** okay, just finished After The Final Rose… somehow, somewhere along the way in the episode I started feeling bad for them. At least it sounds like Courtney has seen what she looks like when she treats people poorly and has learned from it. But they did choose to be on tv and she did make the decision to be the villain going into it, so they can’t be surprised that this is the result. How cute are Ashley and JP though? I have really grown to love them… maybe I’ll grow to love Ben and Courtney as well?
The episode starts by having Lou and Arsenio come back in from the boardroom last week and the others see that George Takei has been fired. Lou and especially Arsenio talk about how hard it was for them to see him go, but all I can think of is, “Does Arsenio wax his face?” Seriously, he looks like a pre-pubecent boy. He just looks so different than when he had his own talk show.
versus
Anyway, just an observation. For some reason his smooth face is distracting to me. Wonder if he’s lost the ability to grow hair on his head and his face.
So the women won last week so Dayana Mendoza gets to give a check to her charity of choice, Latino Commission on AIDS. The organization provides a way for Latinos to get testing and get help from an organization where they feel a sense of community with. Often times there is a language barrier with other organizations and local Latinos may not know where to turn for help, so this is a way they can get the help they need. What I think is a little unfair/sad about this competition is that some tasks only have the opportunity to make $20k while others have an endless opportunity, like the first one making over $400k. Some charities will benefit so much more than others. But I guess that’s just the way it goes, I just wish it wasn’t such an obvious huge range.
Okay, so getting into the meat and potatoes of the show…. the task is to give a 10-minute video presentation introducing the new Buick Verano plus a 10-minute question and answer period about the new car. So Adam Carolla and Debbie Gibson (what’s with her over-done makeup this episode?) step up to be project managers.
The most personality Michael Andretti ever showed was while he was test driving the Buick Verano. He whipped around those corners like he was driving a race car and it was pretty sweet to watch. It’s probably the most work he’s done on this show thus far. He comes across as such a dull, invisible person. Adam’s idea for the men is to have hecklers in the audience and to have Paul shout “you suck!” while Adam is giving the presentation. The guys are all against it, but Adam is dead set and won’t change his mind.
The women’s idea is for the theme of “Love your Reflection” and each person will reflect upon how Buick has saved the day or helped them out in someway. The women have kind of split into two groups… the cool girls with the ideas and power (Debbie, Aubrey, and Lisa) , and the more shy, meek, possibly not as intelligent girls (Tia & Teresa). This is not a good situation to have going on.
During the rehearsals I can already tell the men are going to be way more entertaining. Adam is hilarious and it’s a funny idea. Just not sure it is the right kind of humor that Buick is looking for. The women don’t seem to have their act together at all though. They don’t have a clear vision of what they want their presentation to look like and they admitted to not having all of the specs and facts memorized yet.
Presentation time…. women go first. The women’s presentation consists of women (planted celebrities cast members in the audience) auditioning to be Buick’s new spokeswoman. THE Debbie Gibson auditions and it’s campy with her singing “Shake Your Love.” Lisa Lampanelli “auditions” next as herself, a comic. Then Aubrey talks about how she got a call one day saying her mother was in a car accident. She gets teared up talking about it… trying to make that emotional connection with the audience. She discusses the safety specs, it’s great, but she mispronounces the car name twice (calling it a Verona instead of Verano). Now Teresa’s turn…. bet $100 this will be a train wreck… she has her husband, daughters, and dog come out and they all fit in the car. Okay, wasn’t a train wreck…. oh, but wait, here comes the Q&A, I haven’t lost that $100 bet yet! First question was about safety ratings and they can’t answer it. Other than that though, they did a decent job. Overall, okay.
Men’s turn… Adam does a great job rattling off the specs of the car in an effective manner. Michael does a decent job endorsing the car. As Dee Snider pointed out, having the last name Andretti endorsing a car – can’t get much better than that. Now the heckling starts… how are the judges going to take this? Arsenio says he wants technology in a car. Adam is fantastic about further rattling off SPECIFICS about the car and the FEATURES. Something the women definitely did a poor job of doing. Penn Jillette stuffing himself in the trunk was brilliant. However, the worst part was definitely Paul Sr heckling “You Suck!” and just hearing crickets in the audience. That being said, that was their only flaw. The men won this one HANDS DOWN. No question about it. The execs at Buick may not be thrilled with 100% of Adam’s material, but overall it was entirely more effective than the women’s.
Wow, an entire hour left and they’re already in the boardroom. This will be a long boardroom… I see lots of cat fighting in the near future. The men went over their strengths, weaknesses, blah blah blah, they’re fine. The women immediately start attacking other. Debbie attacks Teresa for not embracing who she is and not stepping up. Debbie says she’ll bring Teresa and Tia back in the boardroom if they lose. Tia says she’s not surprised because they were marginalized throughout the whole task. Teresa and Tia feel that Debbie has a lack of respect when she speaks with not only them but everyone on the women’s team. Basically the execs didn’t like hardly anything the women did. They didn’t like the overall concept, which is huge. Debbie should go home because of this. It was her idea and her vision that they did not like. The execs liked almost all of the men’s presentation except they didn’t think Michael did a good job of having the audience feel his presence. They liked that he was up there, but they didn’t feel he exuded confidence. The execs also didn’t think they did a good job of brand messaging… getting the Buick name out there and what Buick is all about. They also felt they didn’t get a sense of the “voice” that the car has. And the winner is…. Okay, wait, WHAT?!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The women won????!! With THAT presentation??? Wow… I’m in shock!
Michael is being criticized for not stepping up to project manager and Lou is being criticized for not being able to utilize him in any task. Lou feels he’s being under utilized, but they are all saying they haven’t found anything he’s all that good at yet. The majority believe Lou is the weakest link. Dee feels Adam should be fired since he’s the project manager. Adam says it’s his fault, it was his idea, they lost because of him. Trump announces they will all leave the boardroom and when they come back he will fire TWO people. So I am assuming Adam is being fired along with one other, but I could be wrong (as I have been a lot in this episode!) Hahaha… Clay Aiken stands up to Lou (the Incredible Hulk, mind you) and says, “if you’re here next week, learning curve’s over!” Love it! Trump fires Adam almost immediately. I’m very disappointed. He did the best out of everyone during the presentation, plus he’s entertaining to have around anyway. Michael is fired next. Not too surprised by that. They didn’t utilize the Andretti brand name and he just has a dull personality that doesn’t seem much like he wants to be project manager of any task. If he was going to be project manager of a task, it should have been the car task.
Now I will tell you one additional thing that bothered me… around the 30 or 40-minute mark of the show, they showed a promo for what’s coming up on Leno this week and they said that one of the guests was Adam Carolla. Now I didn’t want to believe it when I saw it, but why else would he be a guest on Leno unless he had just been voted off the Celebrity Apprentice. SPOILER ALERT, LENO!!!
Not going to lie, I have been looking forward to this episode since last week’s ended. Slade Smilie faces the women who he bashed on stage during his “comedy” routine.
First scene shows Gretchen and Slade driving in the car and Slade explains how he’s always wanted to be a comedian and believes it’s his calling. Apparently he did not hear the same crickets the audience heard after each one of his jokes. Say what you will about the man, but I am not a Slade-hater. I have always liked him and his commentary until this whole stand-up routine. He was way out of line with his bashing towards the women to a public audience like that (not to mention all of America) but he just wasn’t funny and somehow this whole ordeal has turned him into an egomaniac. Gretchen thinks he needs to focus on one thing that he’s good at and go for it 100%. Can’t say I blame her. It would be really hard to be supportive of Slade’s decision to follow this weird dream of his (which came from left field) about being a standup comic.
Heather and Tamra are sitting down for a lunch. Tamra discusses her relationship with Eddie and how she is a little apprehensive of ever getting married again. She also talks about how she’s going to have an 80’s Bunko party. She’s going through her invite list with Heather and calls Alexis a “Ding-Dong.” The two of them begin bashing her for being fake, religious-y yet she’s got “boobs out to here,” and start making fun of her newscaster/news anchor gig. While I don’t like the cattiness, I couldn’t agree more about Alexis. She really does come across as extremely ditzy. Heather switches the subject to be about how she saw Slade at the Improv and proceeds to tell Tamra what he said about her and the comparison to the Michelin Man. Tamra obviously gets pissed off and then tells Heather about how Slade doesn’t pay child support. Tamra feels that she’s trying to mend her friendship with Gretchen and Slade is hindering that. Heather’s advice is to be as nice as possible to Slade (“kill ’em with kindness” approach) so that will shut it down and Slade won’t have anything to talk about. She feels this will be better for the group.
Alexis goes in to see Dr Niccole about getting her nose done. He did her breast augmentation. She really hates the bump in her nose. She begins crying and freaking out – she is nervous. She needs some work done on the inside of her nose and she said, “You actually have to separate my nose from my face to get at all the stuff underneath?” Dr Niccole says “No, god no, no wonder you’re so nervous.” I am laughing so hard that she honestly believes he actually had to take her nose off in order to get at her sinuses and her deviated septum. As I said earlier, I don’t believe she is very bright either.
Alexis meets with Gretchen for coffee after her consultation. Gretchen says she would like to have the bump in her nose removed as well. Then they begin talking about Slade’s “comedy” routine. Alexis is supportive of Gretchen and says Slade was funny but it’s going to cause problems. She tells Gretchen that she needs to call Tamra to tell her what was said.
Flash to Vicki at her office where she is “so busy” because she “works.” Ahhh the printer isn’t working!! What is she going to do?! Her divorce and Breanna’s health are weighing heavily on her mind which is making her more scatterbrained than usual. She said she feels the walls are caving in on her and she’s melting. I kid, but really that would be a lot of stress to be going through. So maybe she should quit the show and not be filming her life in front of millions of people? There’s a thought.
Slade informs Gretchen that he got a call from a woman named Robin who wants Gretchen to come and sing and dance in the Pussycat Doll lounge. She would walk her through the choreography. Gretchen is excited but worried about failure. Robin has made the Pussycat Dolls into an empire. Gretchen sees this as a great opportunity, but is asking a million questions and is very nervous. I agree this is a great opportunity and she should do it. Slade already has the song picked out for her, “Fever.” She agrees to it.
After the commercial break, Gretchen’s friend, Victor, comes by to help her pick out an outfit for the 80’s Bunko party. Tamra calls on the phone while they’re picking out the outfits. Tamra confronts Gretchen about what Slade said. Gretchen tries to say that it’s between her and Slade. Gretchen apologizes though and says she’s sorry it was put out there like that. Gretchen should have called Tamra before Tamra had the chance to call her. Looks like they have things smoothed over, but looks like there’s going to be some tension there.
Tamra goes to Vicki’s house and brings her some coffee. Vicki tells Tamra how upset she is over the Brianna situation. Vicki and Tamra talk about how Slade made jokes about their appearance. Even though I’ve never had an issue with Slade, I completely agree he should have never made personal attacks about their looks. I know they have said awful things about Slade, which I am not condoning, however, I think it just makes Slade look bad that he said the things he did… comparing Vicki to Miss Piggy.
80’s Bunko party at a restaurant. That’s awesome. Tamra looks awesome in a Olivia Newton-John type getup with the leotard, leg warmers, and high heels with a cut off sweatshirt. Alexis looks like Madonna in black with white pearls. Gretchen went in neon colors and crimped hair. Heather took a different take on the 80’s and went as a Robert Palmer “Addicted to Love” girl and she looks spot-on! Amazing! Not sure the look Vicki was going for. She does have high hair and leg warmers, but the outfit doesn’t looks so great. The only problem with Heather’s outfit is that she has to explain it to everyone – none of the girls get the reference. Maybe they’re too old because I could tell immediately who she was trying to be!
Bunko game begins and Alexis claims her good luck comes from the good “Lordie.” Then she gets a sex toy for winning. So funny! One of the guests turns to Vicki and brings up the Slade thing. Vicki says she’s just going through a lot of stress right now and doesn’t need that stuff from Slade. Tamra gets involved and says just a little bit, but says she’s good now. A gay friend (a guest brought a man that she said is “her gay”, also the only man there at this point) and he starts stirring the pot. Gretchen overhears this and calls him out on it. Asks him why he’s starting stuff. Tamra’s trying to get Gretchen to stop and says she’s good. Vicki glares at Tamra because she wants Tamra to be just as pissed about it all as Vicki is, but Tamra’s trying to kill everyone with kindness. The man starts saying telling Gretchen that she said all of these things about the women at the improve. To which Gretchen says that she didn’t say it, she was not on stage at the same time as Slade, and Heather vouches for Gretchen. Vicki is now mad at Tamra for being “Team Gretchen.” Gretchen feels they should not be taking it up with her, they need to take it up with Slade. I don’t completely agree with that. They are a packaged deal. She is not responsible for his actions, but he did hurt her friends and I think she should do more apologizing or at the very least just say, “I agree, those things he said were terrible, I am so sorry he said them. I wished he wouldn’t have.” Tamra says she’s got one more surprise for everyone. She’s says she’s got some guys that want to join the party… in walk the husbands/boyfriends in full 80’s getup. It was hilarious! Slade looked identical to Billy Rae Cyrus… mullet and all. Vicki feels betrayed that Tamra would invite Slade. The think I don’t like about Vicki is that if you’re not 100% on her side all the time then you are against her. Which isn’t true in this case. Tamra should be able to be friends with both Vicki and Gretchen. And that’s where the episode ended. More on the crazy Bunko party next week!
Alexis revealed her new nose on Watch What Happens Live tonight. She just had the bump removed and kept everything else the same. Well the tip of her nose now looks bigger than ever and her eyes now look closer together. I actually think she looked better with the bump in her nose, but if she’s happy, that’s all that matters. You can see a picture of her new nose on Andy Cohen’s whosay page: Here Thoughts?
Finally getting around to watching American Idol from last week.
America will chose 5 girls and 5 guys, then each judge will pick a “wild card” person to round out the top 13 contestants.
Chase Likens, Phillip Phillips, and Jeremy Rosado are up first. Out of these three I have say I am hoping for Philip. He’s not always in tune, but he at least adds personality and spunk to the show. Jeremy has a nice voice, but there’s not enough personality coming through. I don’t love male country music so I really wasn’t a fan of Chase. Really hoping for Philip!!! Jeremy got cut. Chase got cut. Yay Phillip makes it!
Jessica Sanchez, Hollie Cavanaugh, Brielle Von Hugel, and Hallie Day are up next: Hoping Brielle goes home. I still can’t get over her diva personality. I think Jessica is amazing and Hallie Day. Hollie seems sweet and can sing, just not sure she’s going to make the cut with these other women. And Brielle gets cut. Hallie Day gets cut. There is still hope for them through the wild card picks by the judges. Jessica and Hollie are through!
Joshua Ledet, Heejun Han, Adam Brock are now up. Heejun is my obvious choice out of theses guys. He is just adorable. I love that he sang “Angels” by Robbie Williams. What is not to love? I like Adam’s (White Chocolate) personality, but I’m just not a fan of his music. He seems so much older to me than he is. Even though the judges don’t agree with me, Joshua’s voice is just too whiny sounding for me. Joshua made it in the top 13. Hmmm. But my Heejun also made it through!!! That makes me happy!
Baylie Brown, Skylar Laine, and Shannon Magrane, Chelsea Sorrell – time for their results. Skylar performed unbelievably! She was entertaining and amazing Wednesday night. I have loved Baylie since she auditioned a few years ago, but I did not love the performance. Chelsea was just okay. And Shannon has got to be the most consistent person in this competition. She is fantastic every single time. I hope Shannon and Skylar make the cut. Shannon made it through!! Skylar made it!! I am good at picking these!her
Aaron Marcellus, Creighton Fraker, Reed Grimm – Please please please send Reed Grimm home. The man drives me insane! I am hoping for Aaron out of this bunch. I like Creighton, but I just don’t feel like he made the cut. Jimmy didn’t like any of them. He was quite honest in his interview about the three of these guys. Aaron is cut. My god it’s going to be Reed Grimm, isn’t it? Creighton AND Reed are cut!! Fantastic!!!
Elise Testone, Erika Van Pelt, Jen Hirsch and Haley Johnson – Erika gave a powerful performance of “What About Love” but there’s still something about her that just makes me go “eh… she’s okay.” Jen is another person that seems older to me than what she is. I don’t think she will make it because of that. Haley was just bad. And the judges were right when they said that Elise was the standout performance. She’s incredible! Haley’s out… not a shocker. Erika’s out. Jen is out and Elise is in the top 10! You go girl!! She might be my favorite girl of the whole competition.
Deandre Brackensick, Eben Frankewitz, Colton Dixon, Jermaine Jones – I love Jermaine’s “Gentle Giant” personality, but I’m just not a fan of his music. I know I would never download a song of his. The high falsetto that Deandre sings in is not always my favorite, but he just blows me away. He is a great performer. How adorable is Eben? He’s a cutie…. but just not sure he’s ready for all this. I love the rocker in Colton. He is the most interesting guy in the top 24. He’s got the look, the talent, and the personality to win. And he’s in!! Wow, Jermaine is through… I really thought it would have been Deandre. Himm… wonder who the wild spots will be?
The judges are picking 6 to perform to try to save themselves and win a wild card spot. Jen is the first up. She’s just okay to me. Hope she’s not picked. There are better people left that have not yet been chosen. Jeremy’s up to sing for his life… singing a slow Carrie Underwood song. Hmm… not loving it. Started off shakey… but it’s getting better as it goes. Still not sure it’s top 13 worthy, although it was full of emotion… Jennifer Lopez is crying her eyes out. And now he’s groveling. Jennifer says she’s crying because she believes in him. For whatever reason that made me teary. lol. Brielle has been chosen and she nearly knocks Ryan Seacrest over. Brielle is singing Adele “Someone Like You” … it’s not coming across very well. I don’t think she will be getting picked. They picked Deandre!! He’s going to sing “Georgia on my Mind”. It was great! Erika next singing “Edge of Glory” Lady Gaga. She messed up in a few spots, but overall it’s pretty good and at least it’s been entertaining. And Reed Grimm is the last to be picked to sing for his life. So that’s it for the rest of them cut. The only one I’m sad about is Hallie Day. I thought she should have been given another chance.
So who won the wild card picks? Erika Van Pelt! Jeremy Rosado, and last stool goes to Deandre Brackensick!! So happy Reed was not picked. Excited for the Top 13 to perform this week! This is probably the best top 13 I’ve ever seen on Idol.
My husband looked at the DVR schedule for tonight and he said, “So you’ve got the Bachelor: Women Tell All” tonight, huh? And I said, “eh…” and he’s response was, “what’s the matter? Don’t you usually really look forward to this episode?” To which I said, “I just can’t picture the ladies saying anything that I don’t already know they’re going to say.” But I turned it on anyway and just the opening teaser got me excited! Shawntel is back, Nicki still loves Ben, and a bunch of other catty drama, PLUS Courtney is actually there too which has to be a Bachelor first to have one of the final two women on the Women Tell All show. So now I’m excited! Let’s get this started!
Starting out with past bachelor/bachelorettes: Where Are They Now? Bachelor reunion party at the Mirage in Las Vegas… now that looks like a good time! Update: Ed and Jillian broke up because of “the distance.” He claims they are still good friends though and talk often. Ryan P (Mr Perma-Grin from Ashley’s season) still single and the girls are falling all over him. Ali and Roberto broke up which is news to me! Apparently I haven’t been keeping track of the Bachelor peeps as well as I thought I had been, even though I follow most of them on Twitter. (I know, it’s really shameful) Frank… the one who left Ali on the show to go back to his ex girlfriend. They make it look like Ali and Frank might get back together again. That’s always been an odd couple to me, but I do really like Frank. Bachelor Pad buzz is going around… who’s going to be Bachelor Pad? They don’t actually say! Boo! Have to keep waiting.
The dumped women enter the stage. The most shocking and talked about scenes are replayed in a clip montage. The focus turns to Blakeley and the claws immediately come out. Blakeley explains she wasn’t there to make friends, which is good since she only made enemies. Samantha completely loses it on Blakeley in a really high pitched annoying voice. Brittney explains she left because she had absolutely no attraction to Ben what-so-ever. (Glad someone admitted that! Sorry, Ben is not my favorite Bachelor) Samantha, once again, attacks her out of nowhere for crying in her bedroom saying that she was crying because Blakeley had bullied her all day. Not exactly sure how that’s relevant. Brittney goes on to explain that she gave up her one-on-one date with Ben leaving it for Lindzi and now Lindzi has made it to the end, so Brittney is happy about her decision to leave the show. Brittney shuts Samantha up finally by saying, “You are like the chihuahua in the house – you just don’t stop talking! Just shut up!”
Back from the commercial break and Shawntel from Brad’s Season, makes another appearance to discuss her appearance on Ben’s season. Again, a recap of the women being catty. She’s explaining to Chris Harrison that she only spent 2 minutes with Ben but she spent 2 hours talking to the women. Poor girl! I only feel bad for her because of how the women treated her. However, I think she should have known they wouldn’t be happy about her waltzing into their season of the Bachelor. Some women apologize for their actions, others are defending themselves by saying the way Shawntel walked into the room she brought it on herself.
Emily’s turn in the hotseat! I have been hot and cold on Emily. I didn’t care for her much in the beginning because I felt she talked about diseases way too much and was a little annoying. Then throughout the season I started to see how human and normal she was and I began to really like her. I was sad the day she went home. I felt that Ben should have realized that Emily was just looking out for him and he was just too blinded by Courtney to see what Emily was trying to tell him. Emily, in the hotseat, truly keeps it real, tells it like it is, without being too catty about it. She was hurt by Ben but explains that her perfect man wouldn’t have done or said some of the things Ben said to her… i.e “Tread lightly” and “you don’t know me as well as you think you do.”
Nicki’s next up in the hot seat! The beautiful divorcee. I never thought she would be one of the last two standing, but I always did like her. She was someone that I would love to have around as a friend. Positive, bubbly, yet real and just overall friendly. Plus she’s cute as a button! The way Ben discussed her departure with Chris Harrison made me think something happened in the “fantasy suite” that made Ben not want to pick her. Just pure speculation, but almost seemed that he hinted at that. Nicki explains she was 100% shocked she did not get that rose at the last rose ceremony. But she has no regrets.
Kasie B – now she was my favorite throughout the whole thing, until the “Hometown Dates.” It was pretty apparent to me that their two families just come from two different worlds. While that is not always a deal breaker, it just seemed to really show how different they really are as people too. I still love Kasie B as person. I think she’ll make some guy very happy – just not Ben. She doesn’t really say anything you wouldn’t expect her to say while Chris Harrison is interviewing her. But she did say that she feels it came down to their core values and he just did not see himself at Christmas dinner with her family.
Courtney (or Michelle Money v 2.0 as I like to call her): a recap of the nutcase that Michelle Courtney is. Overall it just seems like simple immaturity to me. Obviously there is something that Ben finds appealing about that. The girls do a great deal of bashing Courtney – though nothing that the viewers haven’t already thought of her already. Then it’s revealed to the women that Courtney is backstage and ready to defend herself, but she has not been able to hear anything the girls have been saying about her. <Commercial break> Courtney is here to tell her side of the story. I have a feeling I will not believe a single word she says. She says she has many regrets, disappointed in herself for acting the way she did, blah blah blah. She’s just full of apologies to everyone. It just seems like she’s trying to save face to come out looking better to America. These are the least sincere apologies I’ve ever seen. “It was never my intentions to hurt anyone…” Ummm… yeah it was. She purposely put people down and made them feel inferior. And now the tears come rolling and it’s time for another commercial break. This has got to be the producers last ditch effort to get America to like Courtney because I have a hunch Ben picks her in the end. I am proud of the women though for their relentless grilling of Courtney without just being flat out catty. Courtney ends it with tears and saying “I cared for Ben…(long pause)… and I still do.” Maybe he doesn’t pick her? Hmmmm.
Now Ben’s turn…. CUT YOUR HAIR!!!! Okay, had to get that out of the way. The women are all like, “why did you let me go??” ugh. Nicki is kissing up to him saying “you are the best man I have ever met.” The girls are all in agreement that he sucks at how he says goodbye to the women. I liked that. haha. Clips of the bloopers is always good for a laugh. Ben and Lindzi get attacked by a tiny bird on a boat, Ben and Courtney got attacked by a Cow, lots of falling, omg Ben dancing is horrible… lots of horrible dancing.
Recap of the journey Ben has taken with both Courtney and Lindzi. Anyone else notice that they keep showing Kasey B and Nicki holding hands during the Women Take All? I know they both loved Ben and they’ve been great friends throughout this, but let go of the hands already. It’s a little weird.
While I am rooting for Lindzi 100% I really think he picks Courtney in the end. Lindzi would be a fantastic mother to Ben’s kids. She comes across like a preschool teacher… can’t remember her profession. “The most controversial season finale that you’ll just have to see to believe.” Seems like after all these years they could come up with better lines than that. I have avoided reading the spoiler blogs as far as who he picks in the end, so please don’t comment any spoilers for the last episode. Looking forward to next week! Thanks for reading!
The ladies are packing up and leaving Africa and I have to say HALLELUIAH! Marlo’s 15 minutes of fame needs to be up. She should have never been on that trip in the first place, and we all know she was only on it to get more face time in front of the cameras. She is not a cast member – girl needs to go.
I have to say Kim has come along way in the last year. She is so much more tolerable than she used to be. Kim was always my least favorite RHOA cast member, but I dare say she has toned down the attitude and classied it up. Okay, so she still has the most vulgar mouth out of them all, but at least she seems so much happier than when she was with “Big Poppa.” She no longer has this negative aura about her. She would probably have less stress in her life if she would get a real assistant though and fire that Sweetie woman. Sweetie does not have much ambition/motivation/doesn’t take initiative.
Cynthia comes home and gives her daughter, Noelle, goodies from Africa. Peter asks where is his? She admits she forgot. Peter now tells her that he’s planning a big one year anniversary party. To me, this is all for show. They are not a happily married couple. They try to hide it, but man, the camera shows everything – and it’s not just the editing. It is my opinion that Peter wants to show everyone how in loooove he is with Cynthia so they will think a) he’s a wonderful husband, and b) they are happy together. I don’t see this working out too well, but interested to find out!
Cynthia then tells Peter that Nene’s son, Bryson, has been arrested AGAIN for stealing something stupid like razors from Wal-Mart. This is the son of the woman who was yelling at Sheree “I’m RICH b*tch!” Then tells the cameras that she’s so proud of herself for being able to pay CASH for her son’s car which cost $13,500. Now, I’m happy to see that she didn’t go out and buy him an Aston Martin and stayed within her means, but paying cash for a Dodge Charger with a negotiated price of $13,500 is not that big of accomplishment for someone claiming to be as wealthy as she is. Now he’s stealing a razor from Wal-Mart? Hmmm. Not saying he stole it because he couldn’t afford it, but there’s still something fishy here. At least she will be able to pay his attorney fees now.
Kandi: Did she or did she not say that Kim would never have held a little black baby in Africa? What I heard, is what Kandi is also saying, that she said she couldn’t picture Kim in Africa at all – which didn’t have anything to do with black people. Looks like Sheree is just stirring the pot. Kim is not racist and I feel sometimes that it’s just an easy target to say she is since she’s the only white cast member. I love baby KJ too. How cute is he?!
Kandi and Phaedra visit Sheree’s lot where she’s in the process of “building” her house. The lot has yet to be cleared – nothing has been done on it at all. Kandi and Phaedra wonder if Sheree is having financial problems. Sheree is seen talking with Kim and further stirring the pot and creating a rift with Kandi in regards to the comment made at the African orphanage. I do like Sheree, but I feel like she’s just trying to cause trouble in this case. Kandi and Phaedra arrive at Kim’s. Phaedra gives her commentary on the flowers walking up to the door. Everything that girl does cracks me. “Mmmm… she got some impatiens. Mmm, girl. Nice nice.” haha! She acts as though she’s judging Kim on every step she takes towards her new home. As an outsider, it’s hilarious.
Peter questions Nene about why Bryson is in jail and how she’s going to handle it. She explains he’s been in jail 5 days and she does not plan to bail him out. She’s planning to let him wait it out 30 days in order for a lesson to be learned. If that were me, I would make my son spend 24 hours in the holding cell and then I would get him out. Bryson keeps getting in minor trouble here and there and this may be the thing that will straighten him out. However, I agree with Peter’s point of view that 24 hours is all it takes to scare him straight. He wasn’t in there for drugs, drunk driving, killing anybody… he stole some small thing from Wal-Mart. It is time for him to come home.
Back to the uncomfortable luncheon at Kim’s house. Kim, Sheree, Phaedra, and Kandi are discussing the African trip. Kim is just glaring at Kandi the entire time and you can feel the elephant in the room that no one is discussing. I sense things are going to blow up at any second. Kandi can’t even look at Kim in the face. And BAM! The claws are out and the screaming begins. Some great lines came out of the fight so far though “Black baby, white baby, purple baby, pink baby… I love babies, b*tch!” and “I didn’t say nothin’ about a black baby!” (and this is where my mom thinks, “why does she even watch these shows?” haha). So the argument turns into would Kim have gone to South Africa or not if she had not just had a baby. I am on Kandi’s side when she says that she does not see Kim going. Kim just likes the finer things in life, doesn’t want to get her nails or wigs dirty, etc. I don’t think that it means Kandi has a low opinion of Kim, as Kim thinks, I think it just means that it’s just not Kim’s thing. My friends like to go camping, I do not. I am not less of a person because I don’t like to go camping. That is all Kandi is trying to say about Kim and South Africa.
Next episode looks good… it’s Peter’s party he’s throwing for their anniversary and of course Peter says something offensive about Cynthia’s sister and that creates a whole family feud. Way to go, Peter. Looking forward to watching that drama though! 🙂
As with all my postings, SPOILER ALERT 🙂
In episode one of Celebrity Apprentice, we saw Cheryl Tiegs go home and in episode two Victoria Gotti. I am about to sit down to watch episode three and I am just praying it is not another woman! Not that I truly thought Cheryl and Victoria were great assets to the team, but it would be nice to see the women make a comeback.
“Suck it up Buttercup” is a great way for Lisa Lampanelli to start the show off! Couldn’t have said it better myself. I have to say, I love seeing the part in every episode where the winning project manager delivers a check to their charity they are there to represent. Seeing Penn Jillette get emotional over Opportunity Village was great. I have seen Penn in person in Vegas… stood right next to the man, twice. He is one BIG (meaning tall) dude. And to see him get emotional over this great charity shows a more human side to him than he typically shows.
So this week’s task is creating two living windows at Lord & Taylor to promote Ivanka Trump’s new clothing and accessories line. Forte (the women’s team) discuss who they want to as project manager and first Teresa Guidice volunteers and says she went to school for fashion. Say what?!! I have seen every episode of Real Housewives of New Jersey and 1) I don’t remember her ever mentioning that before and 2) she is the gaudiest dresser on all of the Real Housewives franchises combined… if she went to school for fashion she obviously did not get a degree. Thankfully Dayana Mendoza objects and volunteers instead. You know, a MODEL might have a little more experience than Teresa. On the Unanimous team (the men), the debate is between Clay Aiken and George Takei for the obvious reason that they are both gay, so therefore they MUST be good at window decorating (gotta love man logic).
At this point, I think the men have a great idea: using a pair of twins, one in each window… one girl represents a woman during the day in business, then the other window has the “same girl” (the twin sister) showing her night outfit. On Forte, the women decided to use a few of the cast members as models. Debbie Gibson volunteered, but Dayana shot her down because of her age (Ivanka’s instructions were to gear it towards women ages 25-35). I had to laugh about that! Debbie was not happy. Forte also decided to hang pictures of sketches of the clothing in one window and photos of the actual pieces in the other window. I’ll have to see how this pans out, but I have my reservations about this idea. I just don’t see how that will be too eye catching. The pictues and sketches are rather small.
Oh! Arsenio Hall is smarter than I thought! He is now realizing that gay men do not look at women very often and… SHOCKER… may not be exactly the best people for the job just because they are gay! Let’s hear it for breaking through stereotypes!!
Ouch! Dee Snider needs to have surgery on his middle finger that he broke during the Medieval challenge.
The printer did not print the photos of the actual clothing. It’s 12 minutes to presentation time and the women have no second window. Aubrey O’Day comes up with a plan to have the women model the clothing themselves as if they were walking down a runway at the end of a fashion shoot. Lisa says Aubrey is amazing and completely saved the day by coming up with Plan B in the matter of seconds.
Dee Snider walks in moments before presentation time after having surgery. He truly is a Rock Star!
I am a HUGE fan of George Takai, but I have to say he was not the best at this challenge. He delegated most of the duties and didn’t really take charge like I would have liked to have seen him do. The men’s displays are pretty blah. Basically just have three sets of twins standing in each display. I don’t feel the Ivanka Trump name and logo were very prominent. I feel the women actually pulled off the “after” look window very well considering it was a last minute idea. The “before”/sketch window was a little bare to me and didn’t really “pop.” However I feel the logo was more prominent. Let’s see if the judges agree!
Boardroom time: Donald and his two sons, Don Jr and Eric, are the judges. Immediately they start grilling the women on who they would bring into the boardroom if they lost. It’s a big love-fest between the women and no one wants to say a name as to who the weakest player is. They are so confident they won that they don’t want to throw anyone under the bus. That may be the case, but it does not make for good tv. This went on entirely way too long. The cat fight we were all waiting for did not happen. Ivanka apparently loved the sign that Paul had made and wants it for herself. Overall the men seem to have more cons to their display after both are reviewed. I’m still rooting for the women here!! C’mon girls!!
And the women have it!! Yay!! I wish the women would have won a challenge that depended more on their smarts than their fashion sense, but a win is a win! So how will George bring back the boardroom? We know who the losers are and yet there’s still 20 minutes left of the show. I truly wish the boardroom scenes were shorter. My guess at this point is that either George is going home or Lou (for simply not doing anything).
Sidenote… what’s with Clay Aiken’s stubble? This red beard thing going on for him is not a good look and it’s distracting me.
George is bringing back Arsenio and Lou, but I really think we are just prolonging the inevitable that George is going home. Bums me out because I love him!! The man has 1.2 million “likes” on his facebook page and I am one of them! Unfortunately, my intuition was right and George Takei was fired from The Apprentice. George tweeted today that Trump has agreed to have lunch with him to discuss same-sex marriage. I wish him luck!!
