The Bachelor: Sean Lowe: Women Tell All (Season 17, Episode 11)

Well if your DVR was acting wonky like mine, then it didn’t record The Bachelor tonight.  Ugh!!  So upsetting!  Luckily I turned on the TV in time to catch the last 45 minutes of it, so that is all I am able to recap.  I apologize!

AshLee FThankfully I caught it just in time to catch the beginning of Chris Harrison interviewing AshLee.  Last week, Sean let AshLee go and she didn’t say a word.  She was clearly upset, pissed, heartbroken, and shocked.  However, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone react the way she did to being rejected on The Bachelor.  As a friend pointed out, “there was a level of psycho to it.”  Like she was going to go slash his tires now or something.  Granted, I don’t know how I would react in that situation and I am sure it would be hard to do it with class and grace when you feel like such a fool and heartbroken.  My theory as to why he didn’t pick her is that she is a bit too serious for him.  He’s got a goofy side of him that I don’t think she brings out.  She sweet, romantic, intelligent, but just a bit too serious and not playful enough…. just a theory.  After the clip of their relationship together, AshLee explains that she was blindsided because Sean was saying things to her like, “my sister and you are going to be best friends.  My family is going to love you!”  Chris asks her if she’s still in love with him.  She said “no.”  She said watching it back she now has seen a whole different side of him that she didn’t know existed, and not in a good way.  She said with her, he acted like a southern gentleman the entire time, but watching him with the other girls he acted like a frat boy.  She said after she realized her feelings were reciprocated, it was time to move on.

Now it’s Sean’s turn in the hot seat… AshLee asks him “what happened??  I don’t get it.”  Sean, with a big giddy smile on his face, he said that from day one she was the front runner.  But as time went on he was looking for someone that was going to be his best friend and fill the house with laughter and sometimes he couldn’t find that laughter with her.  (Did I call it or what?!) She said that what really hurt her was that he never came to check on her.  That he was supposed to be a southern gentleman, she thought “oh he’s going to come check on me” **camera pans to Des rolling her eyes**  Sean explains that had Emily come to check on him it would have made things worse and that’s why he didn’t do it with her.  She said, “But Sean, you’re a gentleman you’re supposed to be the man here.  There’s a difference between a woman going back for a man and a man going back for a girl.”  Wow, sexist much? AshLee continues to grill Sean and asks, “Then why did you say you had absolute NO feelings for the other girls?” Sean looks dumbfounded and says “I…. I never said that.  I never said I didn’t have feelings for the other women.”  AshLee: “Twice you didn’t say that?” Sean responds, “Promise I didn’t say that.  I wouldn’t say that.” AshLee: “Sean, Come on…. you think I would just make something up like that?” Sean: “I know I didn’t say that.” AshLee: “Okay, here is what you said… you said there’s absolutely nothing between those two.”  Sean: I didn’t say that either. I wouldn’t say that.  AshLee: “I wouldn’t make that up either.” Awkward silence AshLee: “I wish nothing but the best for you, you did say that, but I hope the best for you.”  Sean, now looking pissed kind of chuckles and says, “well on the record, I still did not say that.”  Chris cuts to commercial, Sean’s mic is still on and he says to AshLee, “I seriously don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Back from commercial break but they’re showing what went on during the break: AshLee won’t let it go.  Sean is still denying it.  “You just don’t remember, Sean.  You did!”  Sean says “I hate that you think that of me.” AshLee tries to get him to say that he just doesn’t remember that but he refuses.  They go back and forth some more and then the commercial break comes to an end and everyone has to go back to their seats.  Show starts up and Chris says, “You didn’t see that coming, did you?” Sean says “Noooo.”  Chris says that he’ll give Sean the last word and Sean says that it’s tough for him because he wanted to end things on good terms with AshLee.  He says he did not say that, but obviously must have done something to give AshLee that impression that he felt that way, and he apologizes for that.

Chris directs it now towards Desiree.  He says to Sean “what would you like to say to her.”  Sean explains that he just thinks about her and smiles because she’s such a good person and filled with joy.  He says he got beat up so much in the social media world for letting her go.  He felt at times she was hiding something behind her smile.  A little later he says, “It seemed to work out well for both of us, and I wish nothing but the best for you.”  she says, “It has, same to you,” with a big smile.  To me, this is a HUGE clue that Des will be the next Bachelorette.  It seems so incredibly obvious that this is already in the works and she is obviously excited about it.

BLOOPER REEL!  Always fun!

Celebrity Apprentice All-Stars (Season 13, Episode 1)

New episode of Celebrity Apprentice premiered tonight and it’s the “All-Star” season… meaning they have brought back previous Celebrity Apprentice contestants.  The cast is as follows: Trace Adkins, Stephen Baldwin, Gary Busey, Penn Jillette, Lil Jon, Bret Michaels, Dennis Rodman, Dee Snider, Marilu Henner, La Toya Jackson, Claudia Jordan, Omarosa, Lisa Rinna, and Brande Roderick.  I will admit, I am looking forward to the train wreck that is Stephen Baldwin and Dennis Rodman, but I am not thrilled about Gary Busey being back.  I feel he is a mental patient that should not be filmed, mocked, and ridiculed.  He has sustained brain injuries and is mentally incapacitated and we shouldn’t make fun of that.  However, some argue that the extent of his injuries is all part of an act and he knows exactly what he’s doing.  I suppose either way it makes for good TV, but I do feel a bit uncomfortable about his repeat appearance on the show.  Some favorites I’m looking forward to seeing again are Dee Snider, Penn Jillette, Marilu Henner, and Bret Michaels.

I loathe Donald Trump so much that I wonder why I even watch this show.  I think it’s my drive to be a successful entrepreneur and businesswoman that makes the show interesting to me.  The tasks they have to complete are interesting and I like the competitive atmosphere… even if it is all for a ridiculous title of Celebrity Apprentice.

Metropolitan Museum of Art sets the stage for the initial task.  Each contestant reveals why they’re there for a second go around at the Apprentice.  He tells Bret Michaels it was a stupid to come back for a second time since he won the first time.  Not sure how raising money for charity would ever be a stupid move.

Trump then tells Bret and Trace that they will be picking who they want on their teams.  Trace picks Penn first and Bret chooses Omarosa first (ballsy move!).  The last picks are Gary Busey for Trace’s team and Dennis Rodman for Bret Michaels’ team.  So the final Trace team is: Penn Jillette, Marilu Henner, Dee Snider, Stephen Baldwin, Lisa Rinna, and Gary Busey.  Bret’s team is: Omarosa, Lil’ Jon, Brande Roderick, La Toya Jackson, Claudia Jordan, and Dennis Rodman.   Neither team is perfect, but at this point I would put more faith in Trace’s team.

trace-adkins-celebrity-apprentice-all-stars-03Now the teams go back to their suites to decide who will be the project manager and what their team names will be.  Bret’s team jokes that they have all the black people on their team… so they toss around names like Salt & Pepper, Oreo, but then Omarosa does a little rap and Lil Jon says that the main thing that stuck out in her rap was POWER.  So they quickly decide on the name of Team Power.  On Trace’s team Gary starts spouting names off rapid fire, but none of the suggestions are any good.  Plan B gets tossed out as a suggestion and for different reasons, each member on the task latches on to it… so Plan B it is. Trace gets nominated/volunteered to be project manager because he says he has T-Boone  Pickens as someone in his Rolodex that he can call to make a donation.  The first task is always a fundraising one, so Trace is a natural choice.  Omarosa says that Bret Michaels should be project manager since he won last time and Brande fights tooth and nail to be able to be project manager… even gets on her hands and knees and begs.  She claims to have big donors and she wants to be able to give her charity a fat check right off the bat.

BrandeThe teams then meet back in the boardroom with Donald Trump, Piers Morgan, and Ivanka Trump.  Bret explained why Brande is the project manager and Omarosa immediately throws Bret under the bus and says it really should have been him.  She disagrees with Bret conceding to Brande for project manager.  The team then reveals their name, Power, to Trump.  Trace tells Trump he is the project manager for his team and their name is Plan B.

Trump then describes their first task to the teams: They are going to be making meatballs and a Meatball shop.  They will be selling meatballs.  Then they will be bringing their meatballs to the Kelly and Michael show and whose meatball they like the best will receive a bonus check to be added to their total.  The one who makes the most money is the winner and all of the money will be going to the PM’s charity.

Trace discusses his plan… he doesn’t care what the meatballs taste like.  He doesn’t want to put any effort into developing the meatball.  He doesn’t even want to open the restaurant up to the public.  He’d rather have a private dinner with about 15 people who have deep pockets.  On Brande’s team (Power) she is struggling with finding a place for Dennis to work where he has any skills.  Both Brande and Trace focus on making phone calls to fundraise.

The teams go to Live with Kelly and Michael show to present their meatballs to the hosts.  Bret and Lil Jon present Power’s vegetarian ball while Penn and Marilu present “Harry’s Balls” (her husband, Harry’s, sauce is on the balls).

-all-stars-celebrityThe meatball shops open and Brande’s got some big checks coming through for Team Power.  The line for the shop is around the block.  Trace’s team on the other hand, opens their shop and nobody’s there.  Everyone is just standing around.  Trace put signs on the front of the store that read “Closed for Private Event.”  Finally in walks Amy Grant who brings in $75,000 in checks, then Gilbert Godfried with $10k, and Valerie Bertanelli with $5k, and more celebs file in.  Maybe his plan will pan out.  Back in Brande’s team the line keeps coming in and Bret is really working each donor for as much money as possible.  Omarosa is keeping track of each dollar that comes in and what contestant they’re there for.  Bret says he notices that she cheers and makes a big deal out of each donation that comes in for everybody’s but his.  Omarosa is making a point to try to make Bret look bad.

T-Boone Picken’s check comes in for Trace’s team for $100,000.  That is HUGE.  Brande’s going to have a hard time topping that.  Brande says in her interview that her “really big donor” (assuming it’s Hugh Hefner) doesn’t look like he’s going to come through for her.  She’s upset that he said he was going to be there to support her and now he’s not.  She said he’s got 15 minutes to get a check to her and it’s not looking good.

Boardroom time… Bret defends his decision again to come back even though he won his previous season.  Omarosa claims that Bret didn’t raise hardly any money.  Brande defends Bret and says he was awesome.  La Toya says that Brande was a little frazzled and was not overly impressed with Brande.

Penn defends Trace’s decision to not open it up to the public and said that the way the game is set up, it’s set up for “whales.”  You can earn more money if you just have whales.  If a crowd turns away even one “whale” (big donor) they could lose.  They all admit it was a gutsy gamble that they may have not done themselves, but it could work.  Trace names Stephen as the weakest link in the group.  Stephen explains that he’s saving his fundraising efforts as possible for his own turn as project manager. Piers and Trump call him out as being selfish and if they lose he would probably be fired and never have the chance at project manager anyway.

Live with Kelly and Michael results…. Brande’s team wins and adds $20,000 to their total.  Brande’s team raised $250,533 total.  Trace’s team raised $419,539!  $670,000 goes to the American Red Cross for Trace Adkins and his team is safe.  Someone from Brande’s team will be fired.

Brande is getting nailed for not knowing the numbers in the task.  Brande’s saying Omarosa is the one that tracked the money coming in and was the cashier.  Omarosa claims that Bret brought in the least amount of money, but he swears he brought in more than she did.  I’m kind of disappointed Bret isn’t defending himself better, but I am thinking Brande will be fired for promising to come through with the fundraising and then failing at it.  I would love to see Omarosa fired though for being difficult to work with and deceiving.

Brande choses La Toya and Bret to bring back in the boardroom.  Ugh!!  Wish she would have brought back Omarosa but Trace points out that Trump wouldn’t fire her.  The three enter back in the boardroom.  Trump immediately attacks Brande for bringing La Toya back in the boardroom and for not bringing Omarosa back.  The judges attack Brande for her decision to put Omarosa in charge of the money.  But she brings up the fact that she raised the most money at around $130k.  Trump harps on Bret again for coming back to play again and then fires him.  Bret Michaels is Fired!  He says he cannot fire someone who raised as much money as Brande and just doesn’t think Bret should have come back a second time.

I really feel Bret got the wrong end of the deal here.  He should have never picked Omarosa for his team and I bet he would have been just fine.

Millionaire Matchmaker: Missed connection with Robin Kassner and wrestler Joe

Robin post makeover

Robin post makeover

About once a season with various shows, I find some “favorites” that stick with me long after the show has ended.  Cast members that, for whatever reason, I feel compelled to stalk research online in order to learn a little more about them.  Last night I was finally able to watch this week’s episode of Millionaire Matchmaker which featured the return of “Miss Hello Kitty” girl, Robin Kassner.  This time around, Patti gave Robin a makeover and some pointers (stick to the 2 drink maximum rule!!) and gave her a really great selection of guys to choose from.  For her mini date she selected Dev and Joe.  Dev (aka Clark Kent) was attractive but obviously couldn’t have been that into her because after she selected him for her master date, he stood her up.  What a gentleman!  Sheesh!  So in steps Joe as runner up to take her on her master date and Robin is less than thrilled.  First of all, I get it, who wouldn’t feel a little bummed and hurt by being stood up?  That really stinks, but suck it up and enjoy the date you have sitting in front of you.  It’s better than being alone at home with your dogs!   Joe was the PERFECT gentleman though.  He was very complimentary to Robin, showed up with two bouquets of flowers (okay, maybe two was a bit overkill, but A for effort!), he told her he had a great time, she’s a great person, and where he would like to take her on a second date.  However, at the end of the date she still didn’t feel a connection.

480857_10200255910973801_177753293_nMy initial thoughts were “awww but he’s such a great guy, why doesn’t she see that?!” But as time went on I began to wonder… why would I want to see this nice man, Joe, to end up with this shallow, alcoholic, brain-dead woman, Robin?  It’s ridiculous that I was initially left feeling like Joe was the underdog in this situation.  No, let’s us not be mistaken here, he is the one who wins in the end.  He came on the show, completely poised, respectful, intelligent, adorable and with his dignity still in tact.  Whereas Robin, just makes another fool out of herself (even if she was slightly better than her previous episode), still appears to be just as shallow and superficial as ever, and leaves a lasting impression of that of a cartoon character rather than a human being.  No, I will not feel sorry for Joe any longer.  I am sure he is feeling much more love right now from friends, colleagues, acquaintances, etc than she is.  So Joe, you go on with your bad self and you go find a woman much more worthy of your love than Robin!

So back to my “research”… I discovered Joe’s not only a wrestler but also a singer and aspiring actor.  He’s appeared on Tosh.O, Operation Repo, and the Grind.  Currently lives in L.A. but lived previously in Florida and considers Detroit, MI his hometown (My home state!! I knew I liked the guy!).   His story seems to check out that he’s as genuine and sincere as he appeared to be on the show.  Want to know more and would you also like to stalk research Joe?  His full name is Joseph Carl White II.  You can find him on Twitter @josephcarlwhite or Facebook https://www.facebook.com/joew182 .

Don’t know who this Robin character is I speak of?  Chelsea Handler says it best after Robin’s first appearance on the Millionaire Matchmaker:  http://youtu.be/j4OthdE6PJo

Why America Loves Catherine Giudici from The Bachelor

Catherine-Giudici-wedding1This week I didn’t do a full recap of The Bachelor as usual because I was on vacation and didn’t have a chance to watch it until tonight.  As I’ve watched the episode I’ve thought about what I like and don’t like about each of the girls for Sean and who I think he would be best with.  In the end, I am left thinking only positive thoughts for Catherine.  Not only is she the most likable, probably easiest to get along with girl, but she’s also the only girl I could see myself hanging out with in real life (at least in the final three.  I really liked Des too!) .  So what is it about Catherine that makes America like her so much?  She’s normal, but not boring.  She’s smart and dorky, but not socially inept.  She has a nervous laugh that makes her human.  She’s beautiful but without even trying.  She called Sean “hunky” and “beefy” and that she never thought she could be with a man like that…. she’s modest and humble.   Catherine’s a bit insecure and yet confident enough to be herself.  She’s funny and also serious.  If I were Sean, or any man, these are the qualities I would want in a girlfriend.  Catherine’s awesome and I am so happy she is in the final two!

Bachelor Sean Lowe is a Born Again Virgin

So I just found out today, and still haven’t found the reason, that Sean Lowe is a “born-again” virgin.  Meaning, he lost his virginity before (reportedly sometime in college) but now is pledging not to have sex again until marriage.  I’m a little surprised given how quickly he began kissing all of the girls on the show and how physical he seems with the finalists, especially Lindsay.  Plus that just makes that shower scene at the end of the Sean Tells All episode all that more of a tease.  Sheesh!  How much more can we take?  With the overnight dates coming up, the subject of S-E-X is on everyone’s mind.  The teasers make it look like Catherine turns him down for the overnight portion of the date.  Maybe he hasn’t told her he’s a born again virgin?  Will it be revealed to her that night that he’s not in it for sex, but just wants time away from the cameras?  We shall find out soon!  Sad but true I will not be live blogging Monday’s episode as I will be on vacation and probably not able to catch it live.  Stay tuned for my reactions afterwards though (even if it’s a week later!  ha!)  Have a great week everyone!  Thanks for reading!

The Bachelor: Sean Tells All, Season 17, Episode 9

From the teasers and previews of tonight’s episode, it looks like Sean is being the most brutally honest we have seen him yet this season.  I truly hope this is the case.  I like “honest” Sean much better than “sugar coat everything” Sean.  I find it interesting that they are doing this “Sean Tells All” episode.  Does it mean that they’re not doing a “Women Tell All” episode this season?  I am not sure.  But what I do know is that I am really looking forward to hearing what his reaction was to Tierra after watching it play out on TV.  Sean tells Chris Harrison, “How did I NOT see this?”  We’re all wondering the same thing!!

Des brotherSo Chris is sitting down with Sean and they discuss how next week they’ll be going to Thailand for the overnight dates with the final three women.  Then Sean discusses at the last rose ceremony why he gave the last rose to Catherine and not Des.  He said that when he thought about “could I spend the rest of my life with these women?” with Catherine it was a resounding yes, but with Des it was a “I think so.”  Chris says, “Tell me about your hometown visit” and how Des’ brother, Nathan, questioned everything Sean stands for.  Sean says he really did want to hit him, he really did.  I can’t picture Sean actually doing it, but seeing a temper on Sean would be pretty exciting.  He says it took everything in him to control his emotions.  The strange thing is they show a never before seen conversation between Sean and Nathan where they’re having a good conversation, Nathan’s laughing, and actually says, “you seem like a good guy and everything my sister was looking for.” Nathan was the first person in the family that Sean spoke to.  And then Sean say he has no idea what brought on the 180 but the second conversation, which we all saw last night, then transpired where he starts grilling Sean and doubting his character.  Sean says he just chalks it up to Nathan being a jackass.  Chris asks “if the brother hadn’t ruined the evening, would it have changed the results of the rose ceremony.”  Sean says that he would be lying if he said it didn’t influence him, because it did.  But he says there were other areas that were lacking in his relationship with Des.

SarahAfter commercial break, they discuss Sarah, the one with one arm.  He was really blown away with her during their first meeting on the first night and that’s why he chose her for the first one-on-one date.  They recap the roller derby date where Sarah just kept falling and how she wanted to participate that night but just didn’t have the balance. He encouraged her to go out there and try and she was grateful he did.  Then in Canada, he sent her home after the group date.  He said the kiss kind of sealed the fate.  He just didn’t feel passion for her.  He wanted to be able to give her the proper respect and explain himself, so he didn’t want to just let her go at a rose ceremony.  Sean is confident that Sarah will find a great guy, she just hasn’t found him yet.

SelmaSelma… oh how I liked her!!  Sean says he didn’t even know he couldn’t kiss her on the lips until half the way through their one-on-one date.  They got creative with different kind of kisses…. Eskimo kisses, eyelash kisses, kisses on the forehead.  The night that she actually went through with the kiss, he said he already came to the conclusion that she wasn’t going to be his wife.

LesleyNow Lesley M… their first date was breaking the longest on screen kiss record.  Sean says he enjoyed all three minutes of that.  They showed this really goofy scene of the two of them trying to sexily eat a brownie.  They seemed completely drunk.  Sean said it started to get even more awkward with Lesley the further they got into it and she wasn’t being as open about her feelings and he thought they should have progressed past that by now.  He said he thinks he would have kept her if she would have just told him she loved him.

Tierra and ashlee fightTime to talk about TIERRA!  He says in St Croix he really wanted his sister to sit down with Tierra and give some insight into what she sees in Tierra.  But instead, he says, he walked into a hornet’s nest with Tierra and AshLee fighting.  He said now that he’s had a chance to watch it all back, he really feels like he was duped.  He says she should have never come on the show, she’s not suited for the show, she doesn’t know how to handle herself in this environment.  “She’s a woman that just simply can’t get along with her peers.” Sean hopes Tierra has learned something from this.  He says he wishes he would have kept Jackie back on the two on one date.  The cocktail party in Montana with Tierra and Robyn fighting, Chris said it went on for hours and really included every woman.  Wish they would have shown Sean bashing Tierra just a little bit more.  He was still fairly polite.  Good ol’ Sean.

Now recapping some of the highlights of the season… Ashley P (50 shades of grey girl unfortunately from my homestate, Michigan).  Sean says “she probably came on a little too strong.”  You think?  Apparently, she goes on and tells the same story over and over about how much her mother loves him.  Catherine had a habit of sending him nerdy love notes.  He says she’s a little odd, but that’s what he digs about her.  In Canada, Catherine decides to fit herself inside the wheel well of the giant bus they were in.

Chris and Sean discuss the upcoming episode of the overnight dates.  Chris said that the expectation of the overnight date is that something physical will happen between he and the girls.  What do you say to that? Chris asks.  Sean gives his typical gentlemanly reply, “I say it’s none of your business.”  True class.

Okay, so nothing too shocking was revealed tonight, but a fun episode none the less.  Next week Sean will be in Thailand… they show a preview of the upcoming two episodes.  Then it’s concluded by a very hot shower scene with just Sean.  Yeah, completely unncessary and yet completely appreciated.  Thank you ABC!

The Bachelor: Sean Lowe: Season 17, Episode 8

Hometown dates!!  This is probably one of the most highly anticipated episode of the series each year.  The Bachelor, in this case Sean, gets to go to each of the final girls’ hometowns and meet the family.  I believe you can only get a sense of person to a certain extent without meeting their family.  Once you see the home they grew up in, their hometown, and most importantly their family, then that’s when you can fully see who the person is and the puzzle pieces that make them up then all fall into place.  This is usually the episode where I can pick out who the Bachelor is going to pick as his wife.

The first stop is to AshLee’s family in Houston, TX.  I am still surprised that AshLee has grown on me as much as she has.  Something in the first episode made me think that I wasn’t going to like her.  Since then I’ve only seen such a sweet, caring person that I’m surprised she’s still single.  She’s probably the most serious/heavy out of the remaining girls, but still seem sweet.  AshLee and Sean begin their date relaxing in a park and AshLee explains that her parents aren’t typical pastor types (didn’t realize her dad was a pastor until this point).  Sean says that his dad is technically a reverend too.  He’s not the head pastor of their church, but he does side services.  This bond with religion will definitely make her a front runner.  Even though The Bachelor is notorious for not talking too much about religion, this could definitely tip the scales in her favor.

They arrive at her parent’s house and her mom and dad look like a typical southern preacher family.  They have a lunch out in the yard and AshLee explains her experience during the Polar Bear Plunge and their experiences in St Croix.   She tells her parents there was romance in the sand.  Why?  Why would you tell your parents that, AshLee?  No matter how old you are, they are still your parents!  Sean and her mom have a private conversation about AshLee’s past and how she was in several foster homes before coming to them.  Then he sits down with AshLee’s father and they discuss her previous marriage when she was 17 years old.  Her dad said that even though he signed off on her marriage at that age, it was a very sad day for him and he would do it differently if he could do it over again.  Her dad tells Sean that he would be welcomed in the family if he were to propose.  They’re all back at the table again and her dad gets emotional talking about the first time he met AshLee and how they just had an instant connection and he just fell in love with her from the start.  Sean leaves a bit later and AshLee is just on cloud nine.  She said the day was just a dream.

Now Sean is at Seattle to meet Catherine’s family.  They meet down at Pike’s Place Market where I just visited in December for the first time.  It’s so cool that they’re standing in the exact spots that I stood in not that long ago.  Those same guys were working at the fish throwing place that we were at.  We bought fish from them!!  Anyway… back to the Bachelor.  So Sean and Catherine do the fish catching thing.  They walk the market just smiling from ear to ear.  They just have a lot of fun together.

They arrive at her mom’s house where her mom, grandmother, and sisters are there.  Sean puts an apron on and helps her mom cook, talks to her grandmother privately, etc.  He just fits right in!  Catherine talks with her sisters and they’re pretty skeptical and protective of her.  While Sean talks to her sisters, they kind of throw Catherine under the bus a little bit.  They definitely didn’t act too supportive.  Catherine’s mom is the cutest, sweetest thing ever though!  Sean kind of asks her mother for her blessing though if he were to propose and she just told him he needs to mull it over and then we’ll see.   The day kind of ended on a sour note because the family was fun and loving and yet very skeptical of both Sean’s and Catherine’s feelings for each other.

Lindsay’s hometown date takes place on base in Missouri where her parents currently are.  They go walking around the town and spending time together.  Sean is nervous meeting Lindsay’s parents, dad especially.  He asks Lindsay if he’s supposed to call him General or Mister… Lindsay thinks it over and finally decides on Mister.  I can tell Sean’s really interested in Lindsay just based on how nervous he seems to meet the family and yet how happy and goofy he’s being around her.  Her father is head of the entire base he is on, and he’s a two star general.  They arrive at their home.  Her mom is bubbly and outgoing just like Lindsay is.  Very sweet lady and she clearly approves of Sean and says even though Lindsay is only 24 years old, she’s ready to settle down.  Now he has a talk with Lindsay’s dad.  He explains to Sean that his biggest concern is Lindsay getting hurt.  Sean asks for his blessing to propose to Lindsay if he should choose her.  Her dad says he doesn’t know if he’s ever been asked a tougher question in all his life.  After a round about answer, he tells him he has his blessing.  Her dad is actually really awesome and totally accepts Sean.  Then they sit down as a family and her dad gives him his own set of dog tags with the values of the military on the back of them.  That is really cool.  I definitely see Lindsay in the top two after this.  There’s no way she’s going home.

Des brotherNow finally the date we’ve been waiting for…. hometown visit with Desiree in Los Angeles, CA.   They meet up and go for a hike.  They arrive then to Des’s house and shows Sean all the artwork she’s done that’s hanging around the house.  There’s a knock at the door and it’s not Des’s family…. it’s her ex (maybe??).  He starts going off about how he’s been texting her, he loves her, etc.  It seems so staged and fake to me that all I’m thinking is that she’s pulling a prank on him to get back for the gallery hidden camera incident.  That HAS to be it, right?  *cut to commercial* “There’s something I have to tell you” she says to Sean… “GOTCHA!!!”  she says.  I knew it!!  He wasn’t even that good of an actor.  haha.  But it was cute.  Her parents and brother for real show up now.  Her parents are real geeky looking, but they’re cute.  She sees that Des is very happy.  Des sits down with her brother and he’s being really tough and he’s beyond skeptical.  He says it’s never going to work out.  The brother takes him outside to talk to him.  Des’s brother says he sees his sister is into him but he doesn’t feel there’s reciprocation.  He doesn’t think Sean really likes Des.  He tells Sean he’s just a playboy going from girl to girl.  Sean says it’s not him at all but he can tell he (the brother) isn’t buying it.   He was really tough on Sean and made it really awkward and filled with tension for the rest of the date.  You would almost think the brother, Nathan, is in love with Desiree.  He acts very jealous and completely sabotages the date.

Sean says he’s very torn between letting either Catherine or Des go.  I just don’t see him letting Catherine go home.  I definitely think Des is on the chopping block.  Des’s family and him just didn’t click.  He says Des’s brother will probably always get under his skin. He’s worried that maybe Catherine doesn’t really want to settle down yet.  She’s got big, lofty goals that maybe she wants to put first before settling down.

Rose ceremony time… Sean addresses the women and says he still really doesn’t know who he’s letting go and he’s really worried he’s going to wake up the next morning regretting his decision.  First rose goes to…. Des interrupts and asks if she can talk to him for a minute.  They go outside.  She apologizes for last night and the way her brother acted and how rude he was.  He says it’s okay, it wasn’t her, it was his doing.  They walk back in…. First rose goes to AshLee… Second rose goes to Lindsay…. Final rose goes to……… he walks away.  He has to still think about it.  They’re really dragging this out.  He said it comes down to who will he miss the most in the morning.  He was going to send Des home, but after her final plea, he doesn’t know if he can send her home.  He walks back out to hand out the final rose… Catherine.  Looks like Des is going home.  Poor thing.  Her stupid brother messed it up for her.

Sean walks her out and she tells him she thinks he’s making a mistake.  She says she feels 100%, not even 99.9% that he’s making a mistake.  He tells her he’s going to miss her.  Probably one of the more emotional goodbyes I’ve seen.  I feel really bad for her.  Her idiot brother really did mess everything up.

Tomorrow is going to great with “The Bachelor: Sean Tells All” where he really lets loose about his feelings for Tierra now that he’s seen everything that’s aired.  Also, never before seen footage of drama between the girls.  Should be great!!!

The Bachelor: Sean Lowe: Season 17, Episode 7 Recap

After last week’s four hours of intense (okay I may be slightly exaggerating) drama, I am looking forward to seeing tonight if Sean FINALLY sees Tierra for who she really is.  Last week Tierra won best award for dramatic performance after 15 seconds in ice cold water.  Let’s see what she has up her sleeve tonight, shall we?

Sean and the final six woman fly to St Croix on a sea plane and get settled in at the Buccaneer Resort.  This place is so beautiful and serene.  Tierra immediately says she cannot share a room with anybody so she gets out a mattress cot and sets up in the living room.  She is just strange.  First date card arrives and it is for AshLee.  “Let’s Get Carried Away…” the card says.  Tierra says “The Cougar’s back in town” all snotty. She’s judging AshLee for being 32 years old and not having found anyone yet to settle down with.

There are no roses on any of these dates.  There are six woman left and two will go home this week.  The remaining four will bring Sean back to their hometowns for him to meet the family.  I just cannot believe we are already this far into the season that  next episode he meets their families!

Sean takes AshLee on a catamaran to private island.  One of the first scenes they show on this private island is Sean asking AshLee about the drama in the house.  AshLee tells him that Tierra isolates herself, she’s not polite, she’s not easy to be around.  Sean says in his interview that when AshLee says something about Tierra, he believes it.  He thinks AshLee is as honest as they come, and he knows he can trust what she says.  AshLee was very honest with him and I think she did it in a way that doesn’t make herself look bad.

Back at the resort… second date card arrives… Tierra “Let’s explore our love on the streets of St Croix…”  Tierra already starts complaining about how the date isn’t on a boat or at the beach.  She said she’s hot, she’s getting eaten by mugs, her makeups smearing…. ugh!  This is her first one on one date with Sean and she’s already complaining the moment the card arrives.  She’s a piece of work!

AshLee and Sean go to their ocean-side romantic dinner.  Sean asks AshLee, “if everything continues to go well, I am going to meet your family next, is there anything we haven’t covered that we should cover?” AshLee says yes, actually.  There’s one thing she needs to tell him and she feels this is going to be a make or break.  She explains 15 years ago, she was going through a hard time in life, and she got married when she was 17.  She’s not proud of it, she was married her junior year in high school and broke up by the senior year in high school.  Sean says he still likes her and she’s perfect the way she is and she’s not broken.  She ends up shouting “I love Sean!!!!”  Sean says in his interview he could see himself ending up with AshLee.

Sean’s date with Tierra… the walk around the town, going shopping…. he bought her a necklace, a bracelet, and some other things.  She keeps telling Sean “Best Date Ever!” and “I’m just so happy!!!”  It’s so fake.  Sean sits down with her and asks her some tough questions about the other girls and such.  He asks her if she could do it over again would she do anything differently with the other girls.  She says “no.  Those girls aren’t going to be around for much longer.”  At dinner, she tells Sean she feels there’s distance between them and she’s wondering why.  Sean tells her that maybe he let the drama in the house influence him more than he should have.

Next date card arrives for… Catherine, Dez, and Lindsay “Love is on the horizon…”  Which leaves Lesley for the last one on one date.

Back on Tierra’s date she tells him that she cares for him a lot and she hopes their journey continues and that she’s really falling for him.  Sean says he’s come to the realization that she probably isn’t that nice to the other woman but that she is there for him.

Sean sneaks into the woman’s resort in the middle of the night to wake them up to snap pictures of them without any makeup on their faces.  He’s coming to get the girls for their group date… at 4:45am.  Sean says they look great, he was pleasantly surprised.  Sean takes them to the other side of the island to see the sunrise.  That’s the farthest east you can go in the united states and be the first four people in the united states to see the sunrise.  From there they went to the Sugar Mill, then the Cafe for lunch, then a really awesome looking Treehouse!

Back at the resort…. last date card “Lesley, I hope our love stands the test of time…”

The group date then heads to Sandy Point and Catherine and Lindsay are having a hard time dealing with how much time Dez has gotten with Sean.  They feel like it’s Dez’s and Sean’s date and they’re just on it.  During his one on one time with Catherine, she tells him that when she was 14 her dad attempted suicide and since then he was taken away to China and she still has a relationship with him but he won’t be there for the hometown visit.  He admires her even more for being so strong even though she’s gone through these tough things.

Back again at the resort… AshLee and Lesley are discussing Tierra within earshot of Tierra.  AshLee says she doesn’t think Tierra has the guts to confront her.  Tierra says enough is enough…

Flash back to Sean’s date… Dez breaks down crying telling Sean about how much her family means to her and how she just wants what they have.  Sean then gives the date rose to Lindsay.  I’m pretty surprised by this! I thought for sure it would be one of the other two.  I still feel what he has with Lindsay is purely physical.  He really did seem happy with all three women though.

For his date with Lesley, he decided to just have a very low key date.  He says he doesn’t feel as strongly about Lesley as he does for the other girls so he’s got to sort that out.  So Sean asks Lesley if there’s anything he needs to know before he meets her family.  So she starts to tell him that she’s falling for him, but then kind of stops herself.  She said it just doesn’t feel right quite yet.  She can’t seem to make much eye contact with him.  They finally kiss… but you can tell she’s still guarded.

Sean’s sister Shay comes to visit him and give him some advice.  She warns him that she doesn’t want him to pick “that one” … the one everyone is screaming “no!! don’t pick her!!”

Back at the resort… Tierra finally confronts AshLee.  AshLee tells her that she is rude.  “Men love me” Tierra says to AshLee.  Tierra keeps telling AshLee she “sabotaged” her connection with Sean.  “That’s my face! I can’t help it! ”  She says her parents said to her: “Tierra, you have a sparkle…. do not let those girls take your sparkle” She says about her facial expressions:  “I can’t control my eyebrow!”  Seriously, you can’t write this stuff!  Meanwhile Sean tells his sister that he’s going to go grab Tierra and they can all talk.  Sean’s walking to where the girls are staying and AshLee and Tierra are still yelling at each other.  Sean walks in and finds Tierra sobbing.  “I’m just so sensitive and I just have such a big heart” she tells Sean.  Meanwhile no tears are actually falling out of her eyes.  She admits she confronted AshLee for sabotaging their connection.  “I get emotional because I care.”  Sean walks outside and Tierra is doing her best to work up some actual tears while the cameras are still on her.

Sean says he’s made a decision, he knows what he needs to do.  He walks back in with Tierra… he tells her that his sister’s in town and that he wanted her to meet his sister.  He says he’s crazy about her and has been from the very beginning, but he feels it would be best if she leaves now.  He explains it wasn’t his intention by coming there just then, but he says he can’t keep her here knowing how hard it’s been on her.  FINALLY!!!!!!  He asks her if she’s going to be okay, she says no.  Sean says in his interview that it just finally just clicked for him that she is not the one for him.  Tierra in the limo:  “I can’t believe he did this to me!!!!”  “Nobody will take my sparkle away” she says as the car drives away.

Cocktail party… the girls still don’t know that he let Tierra go.  So they’re speculating what may have happened.  Sean walks in and explains that he let Tierra go.  He knew she wasn’t going to be his wife and he needed to let her go.  Then he tells them that he’s made his decision tonight and there won’t be a cocktail party and he’ll see them at the Rose Ceremony.  My prediction at this point is the Lesley is going home.

Rose ceremony… Dez, Catherine, and AshLee receive roses.  Lesley is the one going home.  Poor girl, but I have wanted this to happen for a few weeks now.  She’s a sweet girl, but not one of my favorites.  Catherine freaks out after he lets Lesley go.  She feels he had more in common with Lesley than he does with her. So she doesn’t get what he’s basing his decisions on.

Next week looks crazy good!  Dez’s brother wants to actually fight him.  He doesn’t like him at all.  That’s not how I pictured Dez’s family at all!  Stay tuned….

Amanda Peet on Craig Ferguson

Anyone else catch Amanda Peet on Craig Ferguson tonight (Thursday night)?  Had to be THE worst late night interview I have ever seen.  I actually had the TV on mute, I was just about to go to bed, when I looked up and saw Amanda Peet was coming out.  I decided to unmute the television and stay up a little bit longer to watch her interview.  The conversation consisted of discussing the color of the mugs for the show, the price of eggs in Tokyo, and  who does Craig love more – Amanda or her husband, writer Daniel Benioff.  What a waste of an appearance.  To Amanda’s credit, she did recognize the fact that she was bombing and putting everyone to sleep.  Would have liked to see more from her.  Thank goodness songwriter, Paul Williams was the next guest and saved the show.  He’s amazingly entertaining, funny, and genuine.

The Bachelor: Sean Lowe: Season 17, Episode 6 – Tuesday’s Recap

Well we don’t have to wait another week to see more drama unfold on The Bachelor.  Here’s to a second night in a row of Tierrable drama!

Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada is the setting of tonight’s episode.  It looks amazingly beautiful.  I want to go to there.  Chris Harrison informs the ladies there will be a group date and two one on one dates.  Roses are up for grabs on each date.

seancatherine-270319419968672890First date card arrives and it is for Catherine! “Lets find our fairy tell ending”.  I’m looking forward to actually seeing them on a date instead of just sneaking off and making out in an alley like they have known each other forever.  She’s pretty, but something about her nose ring bothers me.  Sean arrives for the date in the middle of nowhere in the freezing cold in a giant school bus.  I have never seen a school bus look like this!  It’s pretty amazing.  So they’re going to go play on an glacier at Jasper National Park.  The wind is blowing, the ice and snow is pelting their faces, but they’re having a great time playing in the snow.  They’re miserable and yet seem so happy.  Dinner time and they’re at this beautiful resort for dinner.  He escorts her out onto a horse-drawn carriage that takes her to an ICE CASTLE that Sean says was built just for them with a cozy fire inside.  It’s very cool!  (No pun intended)

Group date card arrives back at the lady’s house:  Tierra, Sarah, Lindsay, Selma, Lesley, and Daniella.  “Let’s bare our souls.”  So Daniella is bummed she hasn’t had a one on one date which leaves Dez (Desiree) to have another one on one with Sean.  Daniella and Tierra both haven’t had one on one dates, although Tierra did receive the two on one in last night’s episode.

Catherine opens up to Sean and says at age 12 and she and her best friend went to summer camp.  They went walking through the woods and a tree fell and fell on top of the girl in front of her and killed her right in front of her eyes.  So she says at age 12 she realized how fast things can change and how easily life can be taken from you.  It was nice to see more depth from Catherine and a little bit more of why Sean likes her so much.  They seem really good together and have a lot of fun.

plungeGroup date, and from the MILLIONS of teasers, we know there’s major drama with Tierra.  So let’s see how long this drags out before we actually get to what happens.  So the girls have to split up into three canoes.  Two canoes have 3 girls in them and the last girl gets to go with just Sean.  Lesley volunteers to go with Sean immediately.   The water in Lake Louise is so clear and perfect.  They get to their destination and there’s like these tents set up.  Sean tells them they’re doing the Lake Louise Polar Bear Plunge.  They have to jump in the ice cold water and get fully submerged.  Sean does say that they don’t have to do it if they don’t want to, but YOLO, you only live once.  Lindsay says she’s excited because this kind of thing is right up her ally.  She loves the outdoors.  I would be dreading this, but would still participate and act like I loved it.  The lifeguard and EMT give them all the risks involved and tell them that they need to get immediately dressed and warmed up.  Selma says she just doesn’t think it’s necessary and she doesn’t plan on doing it.  I can’t say I blame her and I think it takes a strong woman to come to that decision.  Tierra says in her interview it’s not good, she might die doing this.  Basically foreshadowing and saying, “be ready because I’m about to pull another stunt.”   *commercial break*

AshLee’s nervous and says she doesn’t want to do it but she doesn’t want to be chicken.  Selma tells Sean she’s not doing it.  She from Baghdad she explains, they are warm weather people.  Tierra is making a big scene and freaking out and then suddenly she strips down and says she’s going to do it.  The girls are standing all around in their robes and AshLee’s really having a hard time with it.  Then they all take off their robes and make a run for the water.  They all plunge in together and start screaming.  Sean congratulates all of them and tells them what good job they did.  All of the girls are so excited and feeling a big rush from doing it.  Then the drama begins with Tierra.  She’s grabbing at the lifeguard, freaking out, causing a huge scene, and they carry her off to the vehicle to take her to the hotel  Sean is worried she might have hypothermia.   Meanwhile Desiree and Catherine can see from their hotel that someone is being carried to the vehicle but can’t tell who it is, so they begin to freak out.  The medics got her vitals and told the producers that she’s doing better, her body temp is going up, and she’s going to be okay.  But Tierra keeps carrying on this whole act about not being able to feel her feet, she’s shivering uncontrollably, and just trying to look miserable.  She has mascara all over her face.  She’s definitely a mess, but I think it’s clear she’s over exaggerating it.

Meanwhile, Des and Catherine are wondering what kind of shape the other girls are in since Tierra looks horrible.  The other girls come in yelling and laughing and having a good time.  Which makes Tierra’s story look even more fake / exaggerated.  Then Sean goes to visit Tierra and says, “oh, I don’t want you to see me this way.”  She put the oxygen tube back in her nose just as he’s walking in the door.  Sean tells her she should stay in the hotel room instead of going down for dinner with the other girls.  They don’t even have to show the teaser on that one… we know she will sneak in there anyway.  She won’t be able to stay away.

He first pulls Lesley aside to have some one on one time with her.  Sean tells her that he really appreciates her so much.  They laugh about the jump into the water.  Then he’s with Sarah.  She shares pictures of her growing up and pictures of her family.  I think that was really sweet of her to do knowing that Sean is a good family man.  But he seems a little bit more cautious of her.  His body language isn’t quite as warm with her.

Date card back at the hotel “Desiree… don’t be scared… to fall in love.”  Then it shows Tierra getting ready for her date.  She’s acting like it’s hard to put on her heeled boots and she says “beauty is painful.”  So here comes the second drama of the evening… PLEASE let Sean see through this bull…

The girls are kind of mocking her and discussing her, and in walks Tierra into the room and the room goes silent.  Lesley says she is a professional at getting attention.  “How to fake an injury 101” Lesley says.  He pulls Tierra aside after getting there and asks her if they fall in love and she makes it to the end, does she want a proposal?  She says “IF we fall in love….” and then gives some sort of strange answer and doesn’t really say yes or no she just says that if they make each other happy, that’s all she cares about.  I think ANY other girl would have said, “I am already starting to fall in love…” I hope he picks up on this.  Then he grabs Lindsay and takes her outside and tells her that if they spend their whole time kissing it would be fine by him.  So, at least from the editing, that’s what they do and it is hot!  They definitely have undeniable physical chemistry.  Not sure if there’s more than that there, but I still think it’s early enough that it doesn’t matter.  There are other girls he has less of a connection with.

To Tierra’s SHOCK Sean gives the date rose to Lesley.  Tierra doesn’t feel it’s fair because of everything she’s been through that day.  Well girl, you can’t get all the date roses even if he liked you the best!

Sean goes back to his hotel room and says in his interview that a girl (Sarah) told him how much she’d like him to meet her family and he just doesn’t see a forever with her.  I called it!  So he’s going to go let her go right now because he just doesn’t think it’s right to keep her around any longer.   He goes to the hotel room and steals Sarah away.  So the other girls are speculating why he’s doing this.  Sean tells Sarah he’s been feeling like he’s almost trying to feel a connection, and he’s wanted it to work, but it just hasn’t been there.  Sarah says she’s hurt and caught off guard.  Sean says he doesn’t want her to sit through the rose ceremony if he knows it’s just not going to work.  She’s really blindsided and embarrassed.  She said she’s always getting the same response from guys…. she’s a great girl, she deserves the best, but the connection just isn’t there.    Poor girl.  😦

Man, this episode has felt long!  So much has already happened!  Desiree’s one on one date now.  They go to Banff National Park.  They get to the top off of the mountain and he tells her that their picnic is waiting for them at the bottom… they’re going to repel down the mountain.  Des is not too happy.  She’s very nervous.  It’s 400 feet down a very steep mountain.  But of course they did it and made it and now they’ve got that high going.  They have their cute picnic and then they spontaneously climb a tree.  It was honestly seriously cute.  I really like Desiree.  Then they get to the evening portion of their date and it’s in a giant Teepee.  How cool is that?  However, Sean’s sweater… not cool.  What is up with that?  Des reveals that she’s lived in a tent, a fifth wheel, a small apartment, and trailer park.  She said looking back she didn’t feel any stress from her dad trying to provide or anything.  They were just happy and her family just made it work.  Sean seems blown away by all of this, as am I.  She is just such a positive person.  I would love for Sean to end up with her.

Cocktail party…. and the girls are already getting catty talking about Tierra.  Selma says. “I mean, you’re going to ‘wife that’?” to the other girls.  They laugh.  Sean is in a happy, yet serious mood.  He says he’s got some tough questions for the girls tonight and if he doesn’t see marrying and having kids with a woman then that’s how he’ll know she needs to go.  First he’s with Selma and she says in her interview that even though she didn’t do the Plunge the other day, she still wants to show him that she’s serious about him and wants to show him her feelings.  She says to Sean, “There’s something I would like to do, but you need to hold still.”  Then she slowly leans in and kisses him ever so softly.  She says to kiss someone on national TV is a big shame to her family, so please forgive her, mom!

Lindsay tells Sean that to make the most of their time together tonight, she’s not going to kiss them.  What?  They’re going to talk?  That hasn’t seemed to happen before.  They’re trying not to kiss each other and make conversation but the conversation doesn’t go very deep.  He tells her to tell him something he doesn’t already know about her.  She tell him she sleeps naked.  Way to dig deep in your soul for that one, Lindsay! But they both giggle about it.  Turns out they don’t have anything in common aside from kissing so they resort to kissing again.  However, it must be working because Sean says Lindsay’s the total package.

AshLee tells Sean she has a hard time letting go of control.  So she gives him a scarf and tells him to blindfold her and lead her wherever she’d like to go.  He does… and I can’t help but think this is like a therapy session.  She ends up crying and everything.  I like AshLee, but wow this feels really heavy… complete opposite of his time with Lindsay.

They didn’t show any time with Tierra… they must figure she’s had enough camera time as it is.  He’s gone back to make his decision now of who is going to go home.  My guess is it’s Daniella.  I’d like it to be Tierra, but I think it’s going to be Daniella.

Rose ceremony: Oh, two women are going home.  PLEASE let it be both Tierra and Daniella.  They didn’t show any one on one time with them.  The three roses go to: Lindsay, AshLee, Tierra.  UGH!!!  Can’t believe he’s sending Selma home!!!  Selma and Daniella are going home.  I would have put Selma in the top four.  WHAT is he thinking??

Down to 6 girls and their next stop is the U.S. Virgin Islands, St Croix and more drama and tears from Tierra.
