Sheree is leaving the cast of Real Housewives of Atlanta

I am in shock!  I just read on MSN Entertainment that Sheree Whitfield is leaving Real Housewives of Atlanta.  Okay, so after the news had some time to sink it, I guess I wasn’t THAT surprised, but it’s still newsworthy.   Wetpaint revealed and Bravo confirmed that Sheree has indeed quit.  Sheree was quoted in Wetpaint:

“After four solid seasons of helping Bravo build the show into its most successful Housewives franchise, I have decided to leave. The direction the show is going in is no longer a fit for my lifestyle. I’m tired of the fighting and the cattiness.”

“I want to be part of something that empowers and inspires women to not only be healthy, but to treat themselves with respect.  I wish the rest of the women the best of luck. I’m thrilled to say I’m now a free agent and am already fielding offers.”

The reason I am not surprised is because she has been under a lot of scrutiny this season as to what she does with her money, how broke she is, how she had her car repo’d, her “Chateau Sheree” has had construction stalled.  The girl needs to get it together and not have her life under the microscope for people to tear apart.  It has to be hard trying to “keep up with the Joneses” when she has no money to speak of.  Also, I suspect that Bravo was getting ready to fire her because her storyline has become very dull and this way she pre-empted them from doing it.

Good luck in the future, Sheree!  I respect you for going out with some class!

Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 4 Reunion Part 2 Recap

Ooooh I’m excited!  This is going to be good… just hoping there is a little less yelling over each other so I can actually understand what they’re screaming about this time.  And the men join the ladies later which will be awesome!

Part 2 starts on the subject of Mallory butting into her sister, Cynthia and Peter’s relationship.  I have said it once and I will say it again.  Peter needs to be the better person in this scenario and at least attempt to be nice to Mal.  Mal is not innocent in this, she needs to just be happy for her sister and move on, however I understand her want to protect her sister.  I feel like Mallory is coming from a place of good in her heart whereas Peter is just being stubborn and mean.  But Mal shouldn’t badmouth Peter to Cynthia either.  Nene denies ever flirting with Peter.  Nene does flirt with Peter, but I agree it’s not like she’s trying to move in on Cynthia’s man.  It’s not like that.  But it’s still flirting.  Apollo and Kroy have now come on stage.  What’s up with Troy’s combed down hair?  Not liking the preppy/nerdy look on him.

Apollo and Peter drama… I don’t even remember how the friction started at Kim’s baby shower. Kroy describes meeting Kim at the dancing with the Atlanta stars and he is completely sweet and describes her as vibrant and beautiful.  Back to the drama with Apollo…  it all started when Phaedra made a comment to Peter about his club.  Then Apollo was just defending his woman when he got in a fight with Peter.  Apollo says he likes Phaedra’s donkey booty and Phaedra says she wants to do an exercise tape for donkey booties.  Kroy is 26 years old and about to be the father of 4.  Kim reveals that we will see her on Don’t Be Tardy for the Wedding without her wig.  Kroy says “She has hair, people.  She has beautiful hair!”  I’d still be interested to see her without the wig.  I think everyone’s curious.  Now that her wigs have become better quality wigs, I actually really like her wigs.  She looks so much prettier than she did in seasons 1 and 2.

Season 4 Kim Hair

African Black “Babygate” as Andy Cohen puts it:  Did Kandi or Cynthia say that Kim would never hold a black baby in Africa?  Revisiting this is going to be good!  “I love babies, bitch!”  says Kim.  hahaha – love that clip!  Kim says Cynthia doesn’t even know her and is still a little offended that Kandi agreed that she wouldn’t have wanted to go to the orphanage.  Kandi is saying she just wouldn’t have wanted to be away for that long, wouldn’t have wanted to go on that long of a flight, etc.  Kandi said it had nothing to do with an African baby, black baby, etc.  Sheree apologizes for misinterpreting what Kandi said.  Sheree still says that she had an issue with Cynthia saying it and Kandi agreeing because she said she found it racist that they were saying that about their white friend.  It’s not a racial thing though, it’s just not her thing.  Just like camping isn’t my thing.

The issue of Tardy for the Party and Kim not paying Kandi her fair share is brought up again.  Kandi is over this topic.  Doesn’t want to discuss it.  Kim hasn’t paid her, and Kandi is just moving on from it.

Phaedra and her “pimp my funeral” topic is raised.  Oh the clips just crack me up.  Phaedra has added a lot of entertainment this season to the show.  She is like a cartoon character… can’t believe she really exists like this!  She sees it as an art.  lol Phaedra describes Apollo’s job which is “asset recovery” as people who have unclaimed money, he tracks them down to get the money to them.  ???  Except she seemed a bit confused about it as well.  Kandi had to step in and help describe it as someone who has died and left money to someone else and they don’t realize it.  Still seems a bit fishy.

Next up is the classless Marlo… she is a very hardened woman.  Nene and Marlo’s friendship drives me crazy.  Marlo says people are always linking her to different “men of the world.”  In other words… girl gets around!  Marlo’s kind of laughing about the way she came across on television and she seems a bit humbled by it.  Marlo says that she and Kim are cut from the same cloth, and then she says, “no we’re not, you’re a whore.”  The whole line sounded soooo rehearsed like she had been wanting to say this to her for months.  Then the room goes silent…. and cut to commercial.  Marlo says she never dates married men.  Marlo says Kroy couldn’t afford her ring so there’s no way she married for money.  Marlo is out for blood!  Marlo says Kim sold the ring she got from Big Poppa to help buy the ring Kroy got for her.  Ohhhhhh!  Kim would so throw down right now if she weren’t pregnant!  And it will continue in part 3 of the reunion!  YIKES!!

American Idol Results: Season 11, Episode 30 Elimination, LMFAO and Kris Allen perform

Top 7 Idols perform “Dancing In the Street”. I have to admit that these group numbers have improved over the years, but they always seem a bit silly to me.  However, they do use a number of these songs on tour (coming from somebody who has seen 2 Idol concerts – season 1 and season 9), so maybe that’s why they continue to do them as a way to fill the time on elimination night.

Those of you who DVR and don’t watch the results show live, do you fast forward the Ford commercials/music video each week?  I usually do, but tonight I’m watching live so it’s not possible.  It was a shorter commercial than usual, so I guess that’s more bearable.

Joshua & Hollie are up first…. I would guess Hollie is in the bottom three this week, even though I love her and think she’s adorable.  Joshua is probably one of my least favorites, but it seems that the judges and America really likes him.  But Hollie was awesome last night, so I guess I just can’t decide!!  Okay, my gut instinct was right Hollie is in the bottom three.

Taylor Hicks in the audience!  Haven’t seen him in ages!  Wow…. he announces he will be in Vegas this summer.  That makes me laugh.

Kris Allen performs!  I was a huge fan of Kris… hence why I went to the season 9 concert.  He’s at a piano on a rotating platform… little cheesy, but I can forgive him.  His falsetto is a little weak tonight, but I’m digging the song.  He’s simply adorable.

Elise and Skylar are now up… Obviously Elise is going to be in the bottom three.  She may even be the one to go home tonight.  Elise says she gets criticized more than the others because maybe the judges feel she’s older and can take it.  I agree she seems to get a bit more of “tough love” than the rest, but I also think she needs it.  This season has amazing talent and Elise is good, but there’s always something just a little missing.  No surprise, Elise is in the bottom three, Skylar is safe.

Sidenote – it’s been confirmed that Sons of Sylvia / Clark Brothers, Adam & Ashley Clark were on idol performing with Skylar last night!  I KNEW that had to be Ashley, but I totally missed Adam!

Tribute to Dick Clark.  People may mock Ryan Seacrest, but he really is the Dick Clark of the new millennium.  He is seriously the busiest man in hollywood at this time.

LMFAO performs…. RedFoo’s voice sounds extra gritty like he was out late last night partying and screaming.  Hmmm… he probably was!  The song “Sorry for Party Rocking” must have a lot of profanity because the censors are going crazy.  Jennifer Lopez looks like she is not a fan of them.  Wonder how many songs they can make about partying and still have them be hits.  It’s getting old, in my opinion.

Phillip, Colton and Jessica… I say the men are safe and Jessica’s in the bottom three.  Phillip and Colton are just great and have the female votes.  Jessica was a bit boring last night.  Wow!  Jessica is safe!!  That means Colton or Phillip are in the bottom.  I have no clue who it would be.  Neither of them have been in the bottom three before!  Phillip is safe, Colton is in the bottom three.  I’m really surprised!

Another shocker… Elise is safe and that leaves Colton or Hollie to go home.  I am almost happy it’s not Elise just because I have a hard time not rooting for the underdog and I know she’s really trying and she brings a different kind of flavor to the show.  However, I will NOT be happy if Colton goes home and Hollie is just so darn cute I want her to stick around too.  Man this stinks, but I guess I want it to be Hollie.

SHOCKER!!!!!  COLTON GOES HOME!  Hollie is safe.  Wow wow wow.  I am so sad!  Colton will be big though.  He really does have a huge career ahead of him.  However, I pegged him to be the top two if not the winner.  He already has the swagger of a rock star.  I love Colton and I am sad!  Ryan reassures him he will have a big career and you can tell he is completely sincere.  This is a bigger shocker than when Chris Daughtry went home in 4th place.  Really…. Colton does not deserve 7th place.  Okay, I need to be done with my rant.  Phillip is so visibly upset, can’t even look up.

So readers… did the right person go home?  Obviously you know my thoughts on this!

American Idol Recap: Season 11, Episode 29 (2012)

With the news of Dick Clark passing just a few hours earlier, Ryan Seacrest opens the show acknowledging the passing of his idol and mentor.  It was sweet, and I’m sure he was sincere, but I would have liked to see just a wee bit more emotion from Ryan.  Maybe a tear.  Or maybe he really is just a robot.

This week contestants are singing songs from the 2000’s-today of their choice as well as a second song will be a soul song from “back in the day.”  Hollie Cavanagh is up first singing Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep”.  Now, we have all heard a million people sing this song as well as Adele herself over and over again, so Hollie really needs to go out there and kill it or I’m confident she will be the next to go since she’s been in the bottom three often.  And she does!!  Starts out at least as her best performance to date.  She has feeling, she has the lungs, and her pitch is pretty dead on.  She has such a powerful voice for such a tiny thing!  Amazing!!!  The judges love it as well!  I have to say though that Jennifer Lopez’s nude illusion dress is a little distracting for a family show.

Colton Dixon is singing “Bad Romance” by Lady Gaga.  This will be interesting!  I love seeing what he’s going to do every week.  Not sure I love the arrangement, but I like that he does something different.  He slowed the song down quite a bit and made it more rock, and I want to like it, but I only kind of like it.  Not that he has anything to worry about because the ladies (er girls) love him and he’ll get votes just because he’s adorable.

Elise is up and her tape with Jimmy she just looks so defeated.   I think being in the bottom three repeatedly is taking a toll on her.  She is singing the song “No One” by Alicia Keys which I think is perfect for her voice and I love the song.   Okay, there’s a huge wind tunnel fan on her that makes me laugh.  She has a very flowy, orange dress on that’s flying backwards with the fan blowing.  Elise even seems to be smiling a little extra while she sings and I have to wonder if she’s laughing about the fan being on her too.  It seemed a little powerful.  All of that aside, she did great!  She stayed true to the song and I thought it was good.  I’m not sure it blew me away (pun intended) but it was still very good.

Phillip Phillips takes on Usher, “You Got it Bad.”  If his performance is anything like his rehearsal with Jimmy, this is going to be great!  Oh this is fantastic.  It’s a bit of a softer Phillip than we have seen in the past.  It’s such a sweet side of him.  Absolutely love it!  He kept the melody better than he has with his interpretations of other songs he has done.  J-Lo called him sexy… made him blush.

Jessica Sanchez… last week’s least voted for/judges save recipient… singing Alicia Keys “Fallin'”  I know she’s going to absolutely kill it, but I am tired of her doing these power ballads.  I find them a bit boring just because she is so perfect.  Nevermind… take back what I said about her being perfect.  This is probably her worst performance… not to say that it’s terrible, but for Jessica, it’s not wonderful.  I think last week has shaken her confidence.  The judges loved it though, so maybe I’m alone at this.  However, I’m still happy they used the save on her.

Skylar is singing the country version of Lady Gaga’s song “Born This Way.”  The violinist on stage looks like a guy from Sons of Sylvia (aka the Clark Brothers / The Clark Family Experience from the reality show The Next Great American Band), I think his name is Ashley Clark… anyone know if this is accurate?  I have never heard this version of the song before, but I like it okay.  It’s maybe a little too gritty for it being that slow.

Joshua Ledet is singing “I Believe” by Fantasia.  Joshua hasn’t been one of my favorites from the beginning.  Nothing really against him, I think I just don’t like the gospel music with his voice.  However, I’m a sucker for the gospel choir background singers.  How can you not be moved by that?  I just wish his voice had a little more body to it… a little deeper or something.  I know the judges absolutely love him, but I’m not convinced yet.

Going back in time… Round 2…

Please excuse my brevity… trying to keep this short so the blog doesn’t get too long.  🙂

Hollie:  Got a cute message from the Liverpool Football Club.  Singing “Son of a Preacher Man”.  I’ve always loved this song, and she’s doing a great job.  She sounds a bit out of breath, but otherwise it’s a fun song and her voice is fantastic as always.

Colton: “September” by Earth, Wind, and Fire. Wow, he really made this song sound current.  It could be released on the radio today and be a big hit.  Colton reminds me of a young Ryan Tedders (One Republic).  He just knows what works and how to arrange songs to make them awesome.  Completely doesn’t even sound like a cover – sounds like a Colton original.  Steven Tyler didn’t love it… and neither did J-Lo… and of course Randy didn’t either.  Oh well… I think it was great.

Elise: “Let’s Get It On” by Marvin Gaye.  I think this just doesn’t have the same groove coming from a woman’s voice.  She’s singing it well, but I’m just not connecting with it.  J-Lo agrees the connection’s not there.

Phillip: “In the Midnight Hour” He is having so much fun he can’t even control himself!  I’ve never seen him smile so big!  He’s doing great – I love this!!  He seriously looks like he just won the lottery.  He’s absolutely giddy.  Haha… can’t help but smile along with him!

Jessica: “Try A Little Tenderness” by Otis Redding.  Not loving it.  I think what Jessica needs to do in order to get more votes is she needs to act younger and pick younger songs.  She has an AMAZING voice, but there’s just something lacking that I can’t put my finger on it.  This song she almost seemed to be yelling through.   Judges loved it though.

Skylar: “Heard it Through the Grapevine”.  Ashley Carter’s back!  So awesome he’s on the show.  I love Skylar’s energy!  I really like this arrangement of this song and with Skylar’s energy, this is an unbelievable performance.  Killed it!

Joshua: “A Change Is Gonna Come” Sam Cooke.  He looks very comfortable on stage and I like this performance a lot better than his earlier one, but he’s also singing lower which I enjoy more too.   Joshua could do a Bill Cosby impression as he’s singing – it’s a bit goofy.  But I liked this performance a lot.  Great way to end the show!

So who was your favorite tonight?  Who will you be voting for?

Real Housewives of OC: “Cabin Fever” Season 7, Episode 10

I have been enjoying this season of RHOC more than any other season so far.  It has seemed a lot lighter, easier to watch than the drama filled seasons prior.  There is a lot more comic relief and I think Heather brings a grounded dynamic to the cast.

Tamra got her breast reduction and Vicki is just in shock anyone would want to have “itty bitty titties.”  She flat out tells Tamra they look too small.  Shallow!  The conversation then revisits what happened at the bowling alley in last episode because Tamra wasn’t there.  Gretchen’s friend and Vicki kind of went at it and Vicki told Tamra that she confided in Alexis about the situation.  That then bugs Tamra because she’s not buying that they’re suddenly friends now, and Vicki thinks Tamra’s being a hypocrite because she (Tamra) is now friends with Gretchen, who Vicki loathes.  Vicki has a strange relationship with Tamra and seems jealous of everything she does and seems to be constantly wanting to one-up her or spite her in some way even though they’re friends.  It’s not healthy.  Vicki’s last words to her are “you have no boobs and no butt.”  Gee, what a friend.

Alexis describes to her friend and makeup/hairstylist, Shannon, what “glamping” (sp?) is: basically glamorous camping.  “Being one with nature without actually having to touch it” she says.  All the ladies have agreed to come except for Tamara since she is still recovering from her surgery and Alexis has also invited Shannon to go as well.  Alexis keeps saying over and over how down to earth she really is because she’s from Missouri.  I, for one, am not buying it.  Since Alexis just had her nose job, she tells Shannon she can’t bend over or lift anything so Shannon will need to carry her bags for her and drive.

Gretchen is packing for the camping trip and Slade is being a mother hen about her resting her voice and taking care of herself before the pussycat doll performance.  Slade seems more concerned with her doing well at her performance than actually worried about her.  I think he has a hidden agenda here.

Eddie visits Tamra and they play with her implants (now out of her body).  He tells her she looks good without them and now she looks normal. He is playful with her and just really nice and what she needs at a moment like this.

The girls arrive to go “glamping” and they find out that they have to cook their own food.  The horror!!  The food is already prepared, marinated, and the market people will even bring it to their cabin, but they have to cook it over the fire.  Heather is completely put off by this.  OKay, maybe I take back what I said earlier about her being the grounded one!

Gretchen calls and says she decided not to go glamping because she needs to rest her voice and learn her song.  She’s worried she would be talking too much.  The women finally get the fire started after some bickering and start cooking the food.  Then they hear a sound in the woods and they all freak out.  Turns out it’s a skunk and Vicki is screaming and chasing after the thing while the other women are filming it all on their phones.  Hilarious!

Vicki finds out that Briana is dating someone because she put “in a relationship” on facebook.  Briana doesn’t want to divulge information about it to her mom and Vicki is obviously not liking not knowing every little detail.

I can just see the producers being extremely disappointed that this camping trip turned out as boring as it is.  No big fireworks or cat fights or anything.  Just prissy girls trying to make it in the “woods”.

Gretchen practices her song and is upset at how hoarse her voice still is.  It’s not sounding how she wants it to sound and she’s stressed.  She has a meltdown in the car with Slade and is really scared she’s going to blow her opportunity.  She blames it on arguing with Vicki and blames Slade for ever using that material in his comedy act that made Vicki mad in the first place.  Not sure what Slade’s reaction to that was because DVR cut off!  Drats.

Interesting fact that was revealed on WWHL: “Glamping” was said in this episode a total of 21 times!!

Celebrity Apprentice: Season 12, Episode 9, “Puppet Up”

Episode begins with Clay and Lisa already spatting.  Aubrey says she can’t stand Clay and his comments.  I have to say I can’t stand Lisa and Aubrey being so mean and manipulative towards everyone.  Clay has surprisingly impressed me throughout this competition.  I thought he would over the top and annoying, but he has actually comes across very intelligent and composed.  However, I sense that this episode may bring out the worst in Clay.

Trump explains the task with Brian Hensen (son of Jim Hensen) while standing in FAO Schwarz.  Hensen has a live improv puppet show for adults. Stuffed and Unstrung… the task is to build two puppet characters and perform an act live on stage.  Trump needs to even out the teams, so he moves Clay over to the team with Lisa, Dayana, and Penn.  This splits up the Arsenio and Clay duo but also puts Clay and Lisa together which is recipe for disaster.  Lisa steps up as project manager, Paul Sr steps up on his team to be PM.

Aubrey is still leading even though Paul Sr is the project manager, however, she’s doing it more in a team player type kind of way.  Arsenio and Teresa are going to be the puppets, Aubrey will be the host, and Paul will be overseeing everything.  Penn’s team has determined that he cannot be a puppet because he is too tall to make it work… Penn will be the host, Lisa and Clay are puppets, and Lisa is struggling to find something for Dayana to do.

So far I’m really liking this task.  It’s really interesting to me to see the behind the scenes of making puppets and putting on an adult puppet show.  Arsenio: “Everything’s better with boobs.”  lol… in regards to Teresa saying she wants boobs on her puppet.  Lisa continues to make racial slurs towards Dayana.  Paul is really sitting back and not doing a whole lot.  Teresa and Arsenio’s puppets are not as versatile as they originally stated they wanted them to be.  Not sure if this will be an issue further down the road or not.   Also, they are wasting a lot of time developing the puppets instead of learning how to do the improve with puppets as the other team already has.  The way the editing and direction of this show is going, Paul is definitely coming off as the weakest player, but it all comes down to the final execution.  If everything falls into place despite his lazy managing style, then it really doesn’t matter.

Teresa is having a hard time moving the mouth of the puppet along with the syllables of the words she is saying.  It’s actually quite hilarious how much she has to think about it in order to make it happen.  Aubrey, of course, has total faith in herself and thinks she will make a fantastic host.

Dayana’s fabrication of the puppets was so good that the employees there said they would hire her for real to do that job.  Penn points out that he has received zero job offers and commends the job that Dayana has done a great job so far and doesn’t trust what has been said in the boardroom.  Dayana might have an ally in the boardroom that she doesn’t even see coming yet.

Ivanka has also noticed how Aubrey has taken a bit of a backseat during this competition and has taken the advice of others and being more of a team player.

Clay and Lisa rehearse with their puppets, Penn is practicing his hosting duties, and Dayana has absolutely nothing to do.  Lisa hasn’t given her anything to work on at all.  This will be (or should be, at least) Lisa’s downfall in the boardroom rather than Dayana’s.  Sidenote… Clay has really impressed Penn, and myself, with his improv abilities with the puppet.  Teresa on the other team is just doing ridiculously bad in the rehearsals.  I cannot wait to see how this plays out on stage.

Lisa and Dayana get into it because Dayana has nothing to do.  Lisa says “Just because you’re not on stage you’re not happy.”  But really it has nothing to do with being on stage… she just wants SOMETHING to do.  It finally brings Dayana to tears.  Lisa has been unfairly mean towards Dayana.  Lisa keeps saying “she always has to be the star.”  Dayana’s not asking to be the star, she just wants to contribute.  Penn stayed completely quiet during this and Clay only said a few things.  Smart men!  But Lisa gets mad that they didn’t step in and give her backup.

Showtime!!  Penn is doing a phenomenal job of hosting, but that is no surprise since he does a show in Vegas nightly, of which I have actually seen and he’s awesome.  Clay and Lisa are also doing a pretty good job, some of the jokes tended to be a little sexual in nature, but it is an adult show, so at least if it’s funny it should be okay.  The audience seemed to love it.  I can’t imagine Teresa and Arsenio being funnier.

Aubrey is doing a decent job at being host.  Obviously not as good as Penn, but entertaining enough.  The audience is actually laughing at Teresa more than I expected.  I expected there to be sounds of crickets, but her imperfections were actually quite funny.  Aubrey of course thinks she now has a gift for hosting and her hosting saved the day.  Brian Hensen did confirm though that Aubrey did a good job of knowing when to cut the scene and end it.

Boardroom time… now it’s time for them to all go at each other before they even know who won.  This should be fun!  The discussion immediately turns to Dayana’s level of involvement in the task.  Lisa again says that Dayana is only upset because she wasn’t on stage, Dayana disagrees with that as being the reason she was upset.  Trump asks Lisa who she would bring back if they lose and she immediately starts crying and whining.  She says she’s the comedian if they lose she should be the only one to come back.  Okay, that’s just dumb.  She said she’s not on this show to be a villain and to make little girls cry.  Why Lisa is suddenly playing the victim here is beyond me.

Paul’s team in the hotseat now.  Trump asks Paul who he thinks should be brought back to the boardroom if they lost and he says Teresa because she had a hard time making up her mind.  Paul is commended for being able to complete the task even though he blew out his back.

And the winner of the task was…. Lisa’s team with Clay, Penn, and Dayana.  They deserve the win, it’s not surprising, but unfortunately it means Lisa will be around for another week.  Somebody on Paul’s team will now be fired.  No doubt that it needs to come down to Paul or Teresa.  Although I don’t have much respect for Teresa, I feel Paul should be fired on this task because 1) he’s project manager, and 2) he honestly did nothing.  Aubrey really did carry the team – even though I’d hate to see her ego get any bigger.

The puppets on Paul’s team really weren’t versatile as a mentioned earlier and that really was one of their downfalls.  However, I agree with Teresa that it lays on Paul’s shoulders because he was PM.  Arsenio is saying that Paul should stay because he was a great leader… all he could do was lead… Arsenio says.  I must have been watching something other than Arsenio because I saw absolutely no leadership come from Paul at all.  I like Paul more than I like Teresa, but in this circumstance, I want Paul to be fired.  Paul brings back Aubrey and Teresa into the boardroom and let’s Arsenio off the hook.  Trump gets on Paul’s case for bringing Aubrey back when the executives loved Aubrey and didn’t love Arsenio.  Paul is fired for losing the task and not bringing Arsenio back in the boardroom.  This was a predictable outcome to the show, but I still enjoyed this episode.  Must be the puppets.  🙂

Real Housewives of Atlanta: Season 4 Reunion Part 1 of 3

Is it bad that I have been anxiously waiting for the reunion starting from half way through the season?  The Atlanta housewives are just so catty with each other and two faced that I love to see their reactions after they have seen the private interviews with the ladies throughout the season.  Like Phaedra’s “everybody knows…” statements where she explains how one of the ladies was not acting properly in the given situation.  “Everybody knows you don’t talk while someone is giving a presentation…” in response to Kim making comments about how long the Willie award ceremony went on.

So when I remembered that it was Sunday and that the RHOA reunion was on… I decided to postpone watching Celebrity Apprentice and dive right into RHOA first.  Yippie!  The claws will be coming out for sure!

The Smalls vs the Talls… love it!  She by Sheree is coming back, Sheree has announced.  That’s hilarious!  Nene announces that she is feeling “Gleeful” (she’s now been guest starring on Glee) and if not she will still “remain rich.”  Pan to Sheree rolling her eyes.  Seriously Nene!!  If you have to TELL people you’re rich, you’re not rich, you’re just shallow.

One of the first issues to be brought up is Kandi’s “Bedroom Kandi” sex toy product line.  The ladies are all having a laugh, good conversation about it, Kandi expresses how profitable it has been, and suddenly Nene just gets all upset like she is too high and mighty for it.  She said she just doesn’t have time for her party where forty year old women are standing around gossiping and discussing the toys.  Nene has this anger behind her on this subject that I am just not understanding.  Right out of the gates Nene starts attacking Kandi.  Now, Kandi’s my girl.  She does not deserve this craziness.  She is by far the most successful woman on RHOA… possibly out of all of the Housewives franchises… plus she’s the most down to earth on top of it.  Don’t be attacking my girl, Nene!

Kandi just revealed that she’s dating the production manager of the RHOA show.  She met while the show was in Africa, it sounds like.  She says she’s in love and he’s a great guy!  Yay!!  “Matchmaking at Bravo…”  Kim says which coincidentally segues to Kim’s meeting of Troy while taping RHOA and has since had a baby and got married.  Ohhhh!  Kim just announced she is 4 months pregnant!!!  She discusses a little about spending her and Troy’s money, blah blah blah… not all that exciting to comment on.   But dang, girl is pregnant AGAIN.  That’s all I can focus on.

Sheree’s issues in court with her ex, Bob Whitfield, and Phaedra are now brought up.  Sheree is immediately crying and saying how hard it has been with Bob not paying his child support.  Sheree says she doesn’t feel that Phaedra took it serious enough and didn’t file the proper paperwork and had to consult with another attorney because she didn’t know what she was doing.  Phaedra is remaining calm and explaining that is not correct and says she wears the crown of throwing everyone under the bus.  Sheree keeps getting questioned on how she’s been spending her money when she’s been needing child support from her ex.  Nene refers to “Chateau Sheree” as “Neverland” and says it probably 50 times because she says her house was never built, there’s nothing there.  “NEVER – LAND”  she repeats.  Why is Nene so angry about everything??

Nene’s Trump Check “Rich Bitch” fight comes to light again.  Talking about how being on Celebrity Apprentice has really opened her up to the business side of things.  She says now that she wasn’t referring to “Trump Checks” when she said she was rich.  Sheree reveals that Piers Morgan said that he got paid $25k to be on the show and he actually won… “he didn’t quit” as Sheree jabs.  Then they both start arguing so loud you can’t understand which either are saying.  Sheree brings something up about Nene’s son shoplifting at Wal-mart.  Sheree says that the kids are reflections of them and Nene disagrees.  Nene says that kids should not be brought up.  Kim says that Nene has tweeted about having 3 different baby daddies.  Nene says that doesn’t have to do with the kids.  Kim and Andy disagree that it does have to do with the kids.

Nene and Kim get into a fight over whether or not it’s smart that Kim rents her house.  Nene again starts arguing above anyone who speaks and just repeats herself over and over and it’s so annoying because then it turns from entertainment to frustration because you can’t understand a dang thing.

So my reunion was just a bit of a disappointment with too much talking over each other but there were a few good lines in there… Sheree: “Don’t give me that face.”  Nene: “You need to fix that body!” Sheree: “You need to fix your face!”

Celebrity Apprentice: “Party Like a Mock-Star” Season 12, Episode 6

The women go back to the suite after last week’s firing and of course immediately they split off into their two groups and start getting catty.  Lisa and Aubrey are talking to Teresa about how they think Patricia and Dayana are dead weight and don’t have brains.  This is just hilarious to me because they are talking to TERESA of all people.  Those that only know Teresa from this show have only seen a glimpse of how unintelligent she really is, although I suspect that will be coming through more now that there are fewer people around.  However, in the opening sequence her quote, “I’m not slow!  I’m …. I’m… I’m the OPPOSITE of slow!”  has got to be a great line.

This week’s challenge is to throw a Crystal Lite’s “Mocktail” launch party for the new flavors.  Aubrey volunteers to be project manager because she loves Crystal Lite, and was a big partyer during her sorority and Danity Kane days.  Clay Aiken stepped up to be the men’s project manager.  Clay says that Aubrey has an advantage because she’s clearly a clubber…. “Just look at that hair!  She came out of her mother’s choch and started ramming the stripper pole,” said the classy Clay Aiken.  I am so tired and contemplated not writing a blog on tonight’s episode, but with Clay as PM, this is going to be good!

The men decide on the theme “Life’s a Peach” and then have a launch party that is a beach theme.  The women have the idea of having the pomegranate as the forbidden fruit and it’s no longer forbidden because there are zero claroies.  It’s a modern Garden of Eden theme. Teresa’s been put in charge of the design of the place ( her friends tell her she has exquisite taste – yeah if you like leopard print and flashy gold homes) , Debbie is doing a jingle for Crystal Lite, and Patricia is working on the signage/print ads.  Arsenio and Penn set out to get props and displays to fill the room with, Dee is working on signage, Paul is building the bar and other stuff, and not too sure what Lou is doing at this point.  Of course, Clay is singing the jingle to the tune of “Under the Boardwalk.”  He does do a great job! Flash to Debbie in the studio singing her jingle and it is so horrible compared to Clay’s.  Just goes to show you don’t have to be able to sing to make it in the music biz.  Aubrey should have done the singing instead.  The song is “In The Garden of Crystal De-Lite”.  I think they will get nailed for saying “de-lite” when the name of the drink is crystal lite.

The women’s room looks great and chic.  It’s white and red themed with pictures of gardens and flowers on the wall, lounge seating, red drinks… looks high class.  The men’s room looks very sparse.  Not too colorful, sand on the floor doesn’t look appealing to me, and nobody is there.  However, I really like their signs better than the women’s team.  I think it’s better on the brand message than the girl’s.  Crystal Lite is very prominent on the sign.  Finally the men’s room starts filling up with people… thank goodness for Clay’s “Clay-mates”.  His fans really are loyal and dressed in beach attire.  The “fun” atmosphere is really working there… limbo, soul train line, dancing… looks like a blast!  The women had the guests write down their healthiest desire on cards and Lisa would read them in front of everyone.  Then Debbie, of course, performed her annoying hook, but it seemed to go over pretty well with both the execs and then audience.  So the execs go to the men’s team’s party now and everyone’s having fun, but I think they will get nailed on not having enough signs and not incorporating the product as much as the women did.  Clay sang “Under the Boardwalk” but that can’t beat a jingle that has the Crystal Lite’s name in it even if it wasn’t sung the best.

Okay, execs are giving their opinions and basically said the same thing… men should have used more branding, and they thought Aubrey was the clear star.

Boardroom time! Women are confident that they won.  Teresa says she would eliminate Dayana if they lost, Dayana says she would fire Aubrey, and Lisa couldn’t decide because everyone stepped up.  The men think they won as well.  The guys are all singing Clay’s praises.  He did great as a project manager.  Clay says based on this task he would bring back to the boardroom Dee, and then possibly Paul or Lou.  I was going to guess Paul or Lou but was a little surprised by Dee.  Aubrey said she would choose Dayana and Patricia to come back to the boardroom with her if they lost.   Here comes the announcement of who won…. women lost, men won.  Okay… this must be weird editing or something.  This is my third week in a row, at least, where I have predicted the wrong winner.  Based on promoting the product itself, I really thought the women would have won.  The guys had a more entertaining atmosphere, but I didn’t feel like they promoted Crystal Lite as well as the women.  This is very puzzling to me.

The women are in the boardroom by themselves now and Aubrey is already crying.  She says she’s just sad that her charity misses out and she felt they really did a great job.  Her charity is GLSEN: Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network that targets bullying in schools.  Trump decided he liked Aubrey’s passion and said he would give her charity $10,000.  The nice gesture made Lisa cry.  The downfall of the women’s team was determined to be the signage and not having the Crystal Lite logo everywhere.  Patricia was in charge of printing and signage.  Aubrey says she’s invaluable to the team, a few of the other women agree that she’s been the voice behind the creative efforts in the majority of the tasks, and Dayana finally points out that they have also lost 4 out of 6 tasks.  Aubrey decides to bring back Patricia and Dayana… no surprise.  My opinion is that Patricia should go because of the signage.  I think overall Aubrey did the best she could have done on this task.  Aubrey is still saying that Dayana should be the one to go home even though it was Patricia that messed up the signs.  Lots of bickering back and forth and finally Patricia is fired.  Not sad over this one.  She seems nice, but she doesn’t have enough personality to really get attached to her.  I do like that she was probably the least catty on the girls team.

Next week looks great… the teams go co-ed, there’s two tasks in one episode, and someone walks out.  Plus tons of drama and meltdowns.  Love it!!

The Challenge: Battle of the Exes “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow” Season 22 Episode 9

So it was announced at the end of last episode that those going into the final dome will be Johnny and Camila vs Mark and Robin by the power couple CT and Diem.  Neither couple have been in the dome this season and I believe it’s fair that they duke it out this way.  So those that will be in the final for sure are CT, Diem, Ty, and Emily.  There is no doubt that Ty and Emily deserve to be in the final.  They went in the dome… what… 4? 5? times and won each time.  That’s amazing.  They are fierce competitors. Now it’s time for the remaining to prove they deserve a spot.  I am torn on who I would rather see in the final.  Johnny can be such a jerk, but he’s great at the game.  He’s good at strategizing, manipulating, and at the physical challenges.  Mark is good at the physical challenges and he and Robin are much more likable than Johnny and Camila, but they haven’t really proven themselves this season.  Still, I feel they are a bit of the underdogs, and it’s hard for me not to root for them.

Okay, so the two couples that are safe from elimination are out celebrating meanwhile Johnny and Mark are stressing.  Next morning, again half the house is chilling and the other half is freaking out.  Robin is about to have a mental breakdown.  Ty is trying to get Robin’s head in the game.  The safe couples are pulling for Mark and Robin to come back so they’re trying to get her to think about her son, Ethan, and how much this money would mean to them.  Mark brings back the bandana to give him the look he had in 1995 Road Rules.  Holy cow, it’s been a long time and Mark is old!  🙂

Dome time!  X-battle… both opponents hold on to the X and try to wrestle it away from their opponent.  Guys vs guys, Girls vs Girls.  This will be an all out drag out fight.  Girls are up first Round 1… after a long battle, Camila is finally able to get it out of Robin’s hands.  Round 2… Camila wins again, but Robin really put up a good fight.  Now it’s the Guys heat… Round 1… Johnny got in the best position and was finally able to get the X away from Mark and drew blood from Mark in the process.  Round 2… Johnny flips to his bank which puts Mark in the best position and he’s able to rip it from Johnny’s hands.  This forces a Round 3… Johnny manages to bend Mark’s arm and wrist all the way backwards and pulls the X from his hands.  Mark and Robin are eliminated.  😦  Mark says, again, that this was his last challenge.  After 17 years, he’s hanging it up, and I can’t say I blame him!

The house just receives a text that they are leaving the Dominican Republic and on their way to Iceland!  They arrive in Iceland at 8am the following day and it’s 3 degrees!  They go back to their hotel where they have been given a bunch of snow gear/attire.   They have 24 hours before the challenge begins.  They go out partying, of course, and then crash back at the hotel where they each tell their partner how happy they are that they’re their partner.  It’s all very sweet considering they’re exes.  CT and Diem especially seem to have that spark in their eyes for the other one.  As much as I haven’t liked CT in the past, he has definitely shown his softer, more humane, side of himself this season and I’m almost even hoping he and Diem get back together and also that they win this thing.  How is it that CT went from one of my most hated players to the one I’m really rooting for?  So odd!

The house gets their many many many layers of clothing on and head out to the final challenge where it is -6 degrees out.   Viking Quest is the name of the challenge… first place couple wins $150,000 second place wins $100,000 and last place wins $40,000 but the catch is you have to finish.  You don’t finish, you don’t get any money.  It’s a race with 7 checkpoints.  You have to finish the challenge at each checkpoint before you can move on and you will receive an artifact that you have to take with you.  They are on a glacier with dog sleds.  How cool is that?!  (No pun intended)

Checkpoint 1, CT & Diem made it first.  They jump off the sleds and now have to run to the next checkpoint. The teams arrive at Checkpoint 2 and host TJ Lavin is greeting them with news that they need to strip down to their underwear and jump in the river, walk over and touch a buoy and jump back out.  The river is -1.1 degrees and TJ informs them that 30 seconds in there would cause hypothermia.  MTV loves nearly killing these people every final challenge, I swear!  The best timed couple receives the best sleeping arrangements on the glacier.  Sleep?  They have to sleep on the glacier?  This is insane!  CT and Diem strip down and are the first couple to jump in.  CT does awesome, he is so fast and gets out and gets in the warming van and looks back and Diem is almost like trapped in the water and begging for help.  CT is now half naked after stripping off his wet, long underwear and has to go back out there to grab her arm and pull her out.  Johnny and Camilla are champs at this… they definitely look like they beat CT and Diem’s time.  This seriously looks painful though.  Johnny describes it as being stabbed by a million razor blades all over his body all at once.  I hate being cold, even if it’s just for a few seconds.  I could not handle this extreme cold. Okay, last up is Ty and Emily… Ty looks completely freaked.  Wow!  I think Ty’s fear really motivated him through this.  However, CT & Diem still won because overall they have the best time with the diving into the lake combined with the dog sled and run to the checkpoints.  Therefore they receive the best sleeping arrangements… a tent with heating lamps, deer skin, air mattress.  It is currently -22 degrees out.  This is just pure hell.  I’m sorry, if I went through all of this and came in 3rd place and only got to take home $20k, I would be so mad.  It is so not worth it.  I am not sure if it’s even worth the top prize of taking home $75k individually.

To be continued….

Real Housewives of OC: “Under the Knife” Season 7, Episode 7

Episode starts out with Tamra going to the plastic surgeon to consult about having her breast implants reduced/removed.  She says in Orange County breasts are what gives you power.  Tamra feels like she’s secure enough in her own body now that she doesn’t need them to give her power.  This is probably one of Tamra’s smartest decisions (aside from ditching Simon) that I’ve seen her make on this show.  The doc tells her she has enough of her own breast there to still give her a B-cup without implants so she is looking to have them removed completely.

Meanwhile Alexis is in the process of having her nose done… work on her sinuses plus removal of a bump on her nose.  Yuck.. hate watching these kind of surgeries! Ugh!  They just showed the doctor breaking her nose.  Ouch!  That just seemed completely barbaric.  She’s awake now but her eyes are swollen shut, she is completely bruised by her  nose and eyes, and she just looks like she is in so much pain.

Skip to Vicki at the hospital with Briana… she is standing outside the hospital when her son, Mike,  comes up to greet her and she is crying.  She tells Mike that the doctor came to speak with her and told her that the thyroid looked really bad, they took out all the lymph nodes and the doctor said he wouldn’t be surprised if it’s cancerous.  Vicki is my least favorite housewife of the O.C., but I still feel for her going through this with her daughter.  However, Briana is a very strong person and I see her getting through this.

Heather explains her struggles of a stay at home mom.  She says it’s much harder to be at home than it is to work.  I completely agree with that!!!  She has 4 kids under the age of 7 and I can only imagine how hectic that must be – even if she does have help (which I’m not even sure how much she has).  She’s talking about opening a restaurant with her friends and calls it a fun pet project for them.  Not sure how you can open and run a restaurant as a pet project, but I can understand her wanting to get out of the house and have something to work on.

Gretchen meets with Robin who is the founder of the Pussycats Dolls and the choreographer. This is a big opportunity for her.  She gets to sit in on a rehearsal of the pussycat dolls.  I think she feels like she’s completely out of her element.  She doesn’t really have formal dancing training aside from cheerleading in high school and she’s not much of a singer, though she’s had one single.  I believe she’s attractive enough to be a pussycat doll, but the rest of the stuff I’m unsure about as well.

Vicki calls Tamra from the hospital and reports on what the doctor has told her about Briana’s surgery.  The tumors were on her vocal chords, lymph nodes, and thyroid.  Doctor has said to prepare for the worst.

Heather invites Tamra and Vicki along with her and her friends to take a helicopter to L.A. to speak to the owner of a successful restaurant to learn more about the restaurant business.  Heather says she with 5 friends are opening this restaurant.  Vicki is alarmed because they don’t have a written agreement.  Heather says it’s fine because they are all BEST friends.  I’m definitely on Vicki’s side on this one.  Six women cannot enter into a business together without some sort of written agreement.  Especially with as much money as they are talking about spending on opening this thing.

Alexis goes to the doc to have it all checked out and it just looks so swollen and gross.  Why would anyone want to go through this?  I’m so squeamish when it comes to this stuff.  I don’t want to see any of this until it’s all better.  Ugh!!  Posted this the other day, but again to see Alexis’ new nose, check out Andy’s pic here.

Back to Heather’s restaurant trip… Vicki seems to think she needs to get them a voice of reason and be the debbie downer about it.  Not saying I don’t agree with her, but not sure if it’s her place to say much of anything seeing as she barely knows Heather and are meeting two of her friends for the very first time.  But Vicki isn’t usually shy about sharing her overbearing opinion so why start now?

Tamra’s having trouble dealing with the fact she’ll be signing her divorce papers in the following week.  She feels like a failure and like she has failed her kids.  They were married for 15 years.  That’s a long time.  I can understand the hard emotions going through this.  On one hand I am sure she’s happy to be away from Simon’s control, but on the other hand there’s that stigma of getting divorced and feeling like she has failed.  Previews for the next episode show her signing her divorce papers, Briana getting her results, and further healing and bandages taken off of Alexis.
