A conversation with a friend of mine after The Bachelorette finale tonight has sparked this blog post. We were discussing how obvious it was that Jef was Mormon and yet ABC chose not to mention it on Bachelorette series. Not that they ever seem to mention anyone’s religion but it almost seemed like they went to greater lengths in this series not to mention it. She and I then discussed how important of a role religion can place in a relationship and how maybe knowing the religious backgrounds of the contestants could ruin some of the suspense. Let’s say for instance if Emily were Mormon herself and we knew that along with Jef being Mormon…. it would take away a little bit of the surprise when it started to get narrowed down to the end. Not to say that just because he’s Mormon that they would be destined to be together, but it would stand a better chance then let’s say a Jewish man. So I went on Google and found this article on the Daily Beast. Basically saying the same thing… why did they go to such great lengths to conceal his religion? Even though Emily isn’t Mormon, she isn’t shy about her strong faith in God, and so you know they must have discussed religion on camera at some point. So anyway, just thought I would throw that out there and see what y’all think. Should religion be discussed on air on the Bachelor/Bachelorette series.
So we just found out who Emily picked and now it’s time for the second most anticipated part of the show – After The Final Rose. We are told there will be secrets revealed and updates from Arie, Jef, and Emily.
Chris Harrison sits down with Emily first and asks what is it about Jef and she explains it’s about how she feels about himself when she’s with him. Chris asks her if she still has feelings for Arie, and she says she really did love him and a piece of her will always be with him. Chris welcomes Arie on to the stage. Emily admitted she was very nervous to see him. Arie says that watching it really gave him more closure and was able to understand more why it happened and how she could really see her life with Jef and have the family together. Arie says that what Emily said to Chris before she broke up with Arie, it would have helped if she would have said that to him as well and he would have been able to understand better. Arie reveals that he flew to Charlotte afterwards, to talk off camera, and have some closure. Once he got there, he said it didn’t feel right. So he called her, he left his journal on her doorstep, and he flew back home. Wow, that is really romantic! Even though I am THRILLED she is with Jef, I’m glad that this shows that he really did have feelings for Emily and he was taking the whole thing seriously. Emily says she didn’t read the journal out of respect to Arie and Jef. She says it wouldn’t have helped anything if she had read it. She handed it back to Arie, and he says he appreciates that. He says at the time he dropped it off he would have really liked her to read it and have picked him instead. But now he realizes how happy she and Jef are and he doesn’t want to come in between them. Jef and Arie are still friends to this day.
Now Jef comes out and the two are so stinkin’ cute together!! They both talk about how great of people each other is. Jef is just going on and on about how wonderful she is. He says being a stepfather is everything he expected it to be like and more. They get to look back at the proposal and watch it for the first time. They haven’t seen it before. Even though I just watched it a half hour ago it’s still so sweet to watch again!
They announced they’re going to go to African and do some great humanitarian work over there. Jef says after they get back he’s going to move to Charlotte. And get a place separate from her and plan their wedding in Charleston maybe in the spring.
I was hoping they would announce who the next Bachelor would be and that it would be Sean. Sean to be Bachelor! I want to start a campaign (although I’m sure there’s already one out there somewhere!)
Tonight’s episode is being followed up by a Live “After The Final Rose” show, so before the finale starts Chris Harrison is in front of the live studio audience giving an introduction to tonight’s show. He says the “ATFR” show will reveal shocking secrets and give the latest updates on Emily, Arie, and Jef. In the background I can see Ashley and JP sitting together. Nice to see they’re still together! Chris Harrison gives a sincere heartfelt message to the victims of the Aurora, Colorado shootings. But now, we’re taken back to the final episode of the Bachelorette and Emily’s struggle to figure out which guy will be “the one.”
Emily’s parents arrive on Curacao and Jef is the first to meet them. He brings them a beautiful bouquet of flowers for her mom and her future sister-in-law. Suzy, Emily’s mom, is of course skeptical after what happened with Brad. Jef tells Suzy he’s going to marry Emily. He’s so confident with her mom. I’m impressed with the answers he’s giving her mom. Suzy seems to really take to him too. Emily’s brother is very overprotective. He’s very serious. Jef really opens up to him though and tells him how smitten he is with Emily. I’m impressed that Jef is able to be so open with people he’s just met and to talk about love the way he does. Now Jef is sitting down with Emily’s dad. He explains that his (Emily’s dad’s) approval is definitely important to him. His dad almost immediately gives his approval and says that based on Emily’s smile on her face, he can tell how happy she is.
Emily is a little concerned that now that her family likes Jef so much that they might not be open to accepting him. Arie arrives at the house, and Emily seemed to light up just a little bit more with him. I might be looking too into things, but it seemed like she was just slightly happier to see him. Immediately Emily’s dad and brother do not seem as accepting of Arie. Her dad admits that he doesn’t know why they have to go through the motions of meeting another guy when Jef was really great and makes Emily happy. Arie’s just babbling, and Emily’s family is being completely quiet. Arie gives them a box that has every rose Emily ever gave him in it. That really seemed to touch her mom because she knows how precious that must be to him. He has a talk with Suzy and completely wins her over. Suzy says she’s having a hard time now deciding who she likes more. Her brother then says to Arie that he sounds very rehearsed and knows exactly what to say and that concerns him that Arie’s just there to win a competition. His answers do win Ernie, her brother, over though and he’s at a total loss now too. Emily’s dad gives his blessing and says that he knows she will be happy with him. Jef and Arie both left their days with her feeling confident and like the next time they’ll see her will be when they’re proposing. Oh I feel bad for these men!! One of them is going to be blindsided and shattered.
The family discusses that they cannot choose between the two. Emily almost wants them to make the decision for her or shed some light on it and help her make the decision. She’s even more confused now.
Emily goes on her final date with Jef. Emily tells Jef that she’s been stressed and she doesn’t want to hurt anybody. You can tell that the weight of the world is on her shoulders right now. Jef says that he wants to meet Ricky to see the final puzzle piece basically and get to know that part of her. Emily explains her hesitation and why she doesn’t want to introduce Ricky yet. The whole mood between them seems a bit awkward right now and heavy. Jef tells her to put herself in his shoes and how that would be. She said that would be weird, if the guy didn’t introduce her to his daughter. So she changes her mind and tells Jef that they can go see Ricky. So they go back to her house that they’re staying at. And Ricky is swimming in the pool. Jef greets her with a High Five. Jef gets how big of a deal this is and how cool this is. He plays with Ricky so sweetly and she’s really taken with him. Things seemed to go really well. At dinner Jef hands Emily a gift. It’s a book of Curocao and he drew little stick figures of the two of them in the different places they went to in the book. Emily’s giggling and laughing a lot… she seems very happy.
Chris Harrison shows up at Emily’s house. She invited him there to talk. She explains to Chris that her mind is made up that it’s Jef that she wants to be with forever. But she says she just can’t even be happy because she feels so sad. She needs to tell Arie that she has fallen in love with someone else more than him. She says she doesn’t even know how to start the conversation. She is heartbroken having to break Arie’s heart. I have a lot of respect for her doing it this way and taking so much care with his heart.
Ugh, but now it goes to Arie and he’s on cloud nine. He’s so excited to propose to her and excited to meet Ricky and start their lives together. Oh this is painful to watch! Even though I am Team Jef with one F all the way… this still makes me sad watching Arie get crushed. He just seems so confident. Rolling up comes Emily in a black SUV. She looks sad and nervous from the start. She’s already crying before she even reaches Arie. He shows her the love potion that he just made for her and put it on her arms. She invites him to sit down to talk and she immediately starts crying and he’s concerned about her. She tells him that she just doesn’t know anymore about it being him. She says all along she always thought it was just going to be her and him till the end. He didn’t do anything wrong, she says, and he’s just gazing off into the wooded area. He says he’s shocked. He completely thought they had something. She says she has more confidence in Jef. Arie said, “you’re not going to get the goodbye that you want. Thank you for sparing me the embarrassment tomorrow.” He’s obviously hurt, but he’s kind of being a jerk to her. I don’t think that was a very classy way to go out, but I do understand how he must feel like a fool. He says in the car that he just misjudged her, he can’t believe it’s over, and it’s painful because he still believes she is the love of his life.
Back in the studio with Chris Harrison. He’s interviewing Ashley H, JP, Deanna, Michael Stagliano, and Ashley Spivey and they all commend her for doing the right thing and excited to see her so happy.
Jef goes to pick out the ring and reflects on his love for Emily. Emily is saying she doesn’t know if she will be able to go through with it if Jef proposes. Not that she doesn’t want to be with him, but that she just doesn’t want to get engaged again and then have it not work out. Jef walks up to her and they both seem to be beaming. She tells him that she loves him and that she feels like he is her soul mate. She tells him he’s the only one that met Ricky, and she didn’t even go on her date with Arie, and that he’s not there today. He tells her that he feels like the luckiest man, and they just get each other, and they’re just meant to be. After more words are said, he gets down on one knee and asks if she will marry him. After a long deep breath in and a pause, she says YES!!! I am so ecstatic right now! I love Emily and Jef together!!! This is how I wanted it to end up from the start. Finally a Bachelor/Bachelorette show that I am happy with the ending with! I hope they get married and have lots of babies.
I love the Men/ Women Tell All episodes of the Bachelorette / Bachelor seasons. Usually not a whole lot of new ground is covered and nothing new revealed, but let’s face it, we love the drama. We love to see these guys back again pouring their hearts out and attacking each other even though they’re all losers at this point. None of them “got the girl” so they should all just be friends, right? Nah… that wouldn’t be entertaining enough. Ryan, Kalen, Chris… they’re all back. It’s going to be good!
First up is a taped interview with Emily. They discuss the road she and Ryan went down and the dumb things Ryan said…. like she better not gain weight. Then Kalon’s dumb comment about Ricky being baggage. And Doug giving Emily a kiss while she is trying to break up with her. He waited that long to make a move on her. Great moments to relive!
Commercial for Bachelor Pad – Premiers next Monday! So excited!!
Moments that didn’t make the show (didn’t air): Date with Joe in Virginia at the fancy hotel resort place and she spills wine on her beautiful dress. She drops the f-bomb and then is embarassed she just swore in front of her date. How sweet. 🙂 Next scene is she and Travis singing Twinkle Twinkle to the egg and WOW Emily cannot sing! It was hilarious! Arie’s hometown date, they were slightly making out outside and his two younger brothers were hiding in the bushes watching! That’s really creepy! Last scene is Chris dancing terribly during their first date together. Emily promises to do the “running man” during the After The Final Rose show.
Sneak peak of the third season of The Bachelor Pad. Lindzi and Kalon hook up! Looks like Chris ends up with three different girls, Ed and Reid are still fighting about Jillian, and Michael and Rachel fall in love… or don’t they?? It all looks so great! Lots of tears, lots of drama, lots of hookups. Can’t get much better!
Finally getting to the MEN tell all! They relive the moment when they first get out of the limo. Then the clips of the drama with Kalon, Chris, Doug, and Ryan.
Hot seat time! Kalon is first up! The rehash Kalon’s whole sequence over again from his entrance to his exit. Kalon seems visibly disturbed watching the clips. However, when Chris grills him about his inappropriate/rude remarks, he stands by what he says and doesn’t back down. He said that he knew before he arrived at the mansion that Emily had a daughter, but he didn’t find that out until he was already committed to the show. He made it clear he didn’t want a stepchild.
Ryan’s Hot Seat moment. I loved watching the clips of all of Ryan’s cocky moments. He defends his comments and his arrogance. Contestant Chris calls him out on Ryan not being there for Emily. Ryan states that he was there looking for his wife the same as Emily was looking for her husband. Chris Harrison says “…but Emily is our Bachelorette.” Ryan is the most smug man I have ever seen on this show. He’s worse than Kalon in that he honestly thinks he’s a gift from God.
Chris is now in the hot seat. It’s still heartbreaking to me to see Chris being sent home. I think she made the right decision, but it’s still painful to watch. Chris is very intense, very serious, and a bit hotheaded which comes across a bit immature. He admits he’s still a bit hurt by it all. He knows he loved her 110% and he says that was the reason for him being over emotional. He’s just a very passionate person. He says Emily made him a believer of falling in love and he wants to do it… he wants to find a wife.
Oh Sean….. poor Sean. In the hot seat now. Definitely the best suited for Emily (though a tad too perfect) and definitely DEFINITELY should be the next bachelor. Sean needs to be the next Bachelor and if he’s not then the producers don’t know what they’re doing. America loves Sean… how could you not? So hard to watch him get kicked off the show again. He tells Chris Harrison that he still have strong feelings for her, he was completely in love with her, and never thought he was going home that night. The way Sean keeps talking about how he still wants to find love and “hopefully it comes sooner than later…” he’s GOT to be the next bachelor.
Emily comes out looking more stunning than ever… even thinner than ever! Emily addresses Sean, Chris, and Doug. Sean and Chris both thank her for showing her that they can love and that they’re ready to fall in love. With Doug, they talked about the awkward breakup kiss. But she does say that her regret with Doug is that she didn’t give him the rose in London on the group date when he told her about Kalon. She says “Without Doug, I could be engaged to Kalon right now…. and thank GOD that didn’t happen!” Kalon does not look like he sees the humor in that at all. Apparently Kalon posted on twitter a picture of a baggage claim at the airport and he tweeted “Surprised not to see Emily Maynard here.” She calls him out on this and says he’s not giving her enough credit that she can see right through him trying to be sincere on the show when he just kind of sort of apologized to her. She then says, “Yeah and when everyone ripped you a new one you said, ‘I guess I’m sorry I’m not sorry.'” He follows that up with, “well I’m flattered that you follow me on Twitter.” Ugh!
Blooper time! Lots of good ones too hard to describe in a blog, but one was that Emily revealed she goes for the “tattooed almost homeless looking” men. Ha! This Sunday is the finale!!!!!!!!!!!! Please be Jef with one f!!
Steven Tyler announced yesterday he is leaving Idol to get back to rocking with Aerosmith. Jennifer Lopez reportedly told Ryan Seacrest she does not intend on coming back either. Rumors are flying as to who will be their replacements. Who would you like to see be an idol judge? I would like Kristin Chenowith personally. She’s talented, funny, and would be highly entertaining.
First post using my phone, bear with me! 🙂
****Update: According to TMZ, Randy Jackson also has one foot out the door. That leaves just Ryan Seacrest as a sure thing for next season. American Idol could be a completely revamped show for next year. I have to say I would not mind a whole lot if Randy leaves. What exactly does he add to the show anyway?
It is down to Sean, Jef, and Arie tonight. I really like all three guys. I think I like Arie the least, but I can see why she likes him. My prediction for tonight though is that Sean will go home. She has said multiple times that she likes the bad boys or boys with an edge and I think Sean lacks that. However, until last week I thought he was leading the pack. So it’s really hard to know! I would not want to make this decision. I think I’d want to grow old with all three. 🙂
Recap again about all of the things she loves about each guy. Okay, we just went through this at last week’s episode. Fast forward. Recap recap recap. Sheesh…. now at the 14 minute mark and it’s finally new stuff. First date is with Sean. And they’re off in a helicopter to go sightseeing. They’re going to their own private island. These poor people are squinting so badly! Let these kids wear some sunglasses! Sean can’t even look at her because the sun is so bright. Anyway… they’re discussing Sean’s past girlfriends and how he treated them all like buddies. She really wants Sean to say “I love you” and he’s just not. I would be more skeptical of a guy that can say it so easily than a guy that has a hard time saying it for the first time. But I guess in order for her to make her decision she needs to know that he’s into her… especially when the other two have already said it. At dinner… very romantic, deep conversation, and Sean pulls out a letter that he wrote to Emily’s daughter, Ricky. It is the most thoughtful, loving letter ever. So sweet. So Sean’s able to tell Ricky how he feels, but he needs to tell Emily how he feels. Sean reads the infamous “fantasy suite” date card and he says that he would love nothing more than to stay up all night talking and spending time with her. So sweet. He really is the most perfect guy ever. The most attractive of the three too, I might add! So maybe my original prediction isn’t right. But he didn’t spend the night. She says she’s setting a good example for her daughter and she doesn’t need a few more hours with him to know how she feels.
Date with Jef…. they’re out on a sailboat discussing the future. Having serious conversation about his parents and parenting and everything. They seem very comfortable with each other. She feels like Jef just gets her. He really feels like their life together is just starting. He is so smitten by her and is able to show it in more ways than I think Sean was able to show it. Jef is the only one that has really taken the time to ask HER questions. Emily has said numerous times that where she went wrong with Brad was that she didn’t ask enough questions. Basically she was just wanting to get accepted by Brad that she didn’t think about accepting Brad and getting to know him. So I think it’s great that he’s asking questions. Jef read the fantasy suite card and told him that it’s about more than just them and that their families will be watching and so he respectfully turned it down stating that they will spend every night after this together in their own fantasy suite. Okay, how cute is he?!!!! SERIOUSLY! So they spent some more time together and Emily tells him that she feels so strongly for him that a couple more hours together won’t change anything. She sends him on his way and he is on cloud nine. He could not be any happier! Love this man!
Arie date time…. Arie reminds me of JD on Scrubs. He’s a bit goofy and immature. They got to go swimming with the dolphins in the middle of the ocean. They keep kissing a lot, but not a lot of talking (at least that they aired). At dinner now and they’re talking about their daily routine and what it means to step into the father role. Arie thinks the best thing would be to be Ricky’s buddy first to gain the trust… he goes into more detail and he shows that he’s really thought it through on how he would handle it. Emily opts not to give Arie the fantasy suite card at all. She doesn’t trust herself because she’s so physically attracted to him. Hopefully this also means that she’s letting Arie go home. I see they have a lot of physical attraction, but I just don’t see anything on a deeper level than that.
Decision time… I feel so bad for her. They’re all such nice guys. She says she sees herself with each of them and she and Ricky would fit well into each of their lives. I feel so bad for the guy going home. I feel whoever it is will be completely blindsided. None of the three seem to have any doubts that they’re spending their lives with her. I think she knows this and that’s why she is feeling terrible right now. She is very emotional. She doesn’t want to let one of them go and she doesn’t want to break his heart. She looks like she’s attending a funeral as she watches each of the guys’ videos. She’s even a pretty crier. Ugh, this is just heartbreaking for everyone!! Emily is really falling apart. 😦
Rose ceremony… Jef!!! Yay!! I sure hope Sean is the next name she says. I think Arie should go. Long pause……….. Arie. Sean is going home. I know he was my prediction but for some reason I’m still surprised and heartbroken for him. Poor guy. I hope Sean is the next bachelor. Sean is really broken hearted but says he wants what’s best for her because he cares about her. He says he feels stupid. They were both pretty quiet though. That has to be the quietest goodbye ever. He says it the limo that he knew he was going to marry her. Says he had this beautiful picture of what it was going to look like and now that’s gone. He’s really embarassed. Meanwhile Emily sits a bench outside just crying her eyes out.
Next week it’s the Men Tell All episode. Kalon will see Emily for the first time since she kicked him out. And then Finale is Sunday, July 22nd. Seems like forever away!! Oh I want her to pick Jef but I can’t be upset if she picks Arie, honestly. They’re both great guys. I just like Jef more. 🙂 So let me know…… who should she pick…… Jef or Arie???
Emily is visiting Chris, Jef, Sean, and Arie’s hometowns this week and meeting their families. A teaser on twitter said that Sean drops a bombshell on Emily during his hometown visit and I can’t even imagine what it could be! I didn’t want to read the spoilers ahead of time… I like to be surprised and watch it as America watches it.
First Emily is back in Charlotte and reunited with her daughter, Ricky. Again I’m left wondering how she has such a gorgeous house and how she makes money (aside from being on the Bachelor/Bachelorette). Does she have a job? There’s never a mention of it.
She’s recapping each of the men and what she likes about them. How sweet, caring, thoughtful Chris is and how he can admit when he’s been wrong. She likes the little bit of an edge that Jef has, she feels comfortable with him, and it’s unique and special. She has so much fun with Arie, she’s very attracted to him, and has a youthful spirit. Sean makes Emily feel safe and taken care of… he’s a gentleman and has a great heart.
Chris – Chicago: Chris’ dad is straight from Poland, his mom is Polish…Chris is first generation Polish-American. Emily’s drinking a beer with Chris at a local Polish Pub. There seems to be just a bit of awkwardness between Emily and Chris. It doesn’t feel 100% natural to me. They discuss the last two on one date where she gave the rose to Sean instead and how awkward that was. Emily said she felt horrible and just didn’t know any other way to phrase it. He was accepting of that. He preps her for meeting his family, and then they left the bar. Emily’s very nervous meeting Chris’ family. She is meeting his parents and two sisters. His dad is very sweet, but very protective of Chris. She asks his dad privately if Chris is ready to take on the responsibility of having a kid. His dad says that it’s more about the love and support that they have for each other. His dad is really taken with Emily and says “God Bless them and I am 100% behind them.” Awwww. I really like Chris’ family. They seems so grounded, intelligent, and really care for each other. Chris sister, Renee, had more skepticism about it all and told her that if Chris isn’t the one then she needs to end it sooner than later. Don’t let it drag on. Good advice, and you can see that those words really had an impact on Emily. Her whole facial expression changed and almost looked as if she was getting teared up. Chris is saying goodbye to Emily and saying sweet things to her. What I’ve noticed is that when he gets romantic, there’s this feminine side to him that comes out. He kind of wiggles his head back and forth and can’t look her in the eye. I don’t know… something about it just isn’t attractive to me.
Jef – St George, Utah – Visiting Jef’s family’s ranch. Beautiful, HUGE ranch. Emily is completely stunned by how “country” Jef is. She thought he was a complete city boy. He drove her around in an ATV, shot at clay pigeons (which Emily was awesome at), and had a talk on a stack of hay. Emily is meeting a lot of his siblings, but not his parents because they’re in South Carolina doing charity work. Emily admits she’s very intimidated by how many family members she’s meeting. She’s so worried they’re not going to like her because he dumped a girl once because his family didn’t like her. Jef’s older brother pulls her aside to ask her a few questions. He’s really grilling and it’s obvious she is so nervous. But she does a good job answering his questions. Now Emily is sitting down with his sisters. They are also asking tough questions, but they seem very receptive to her answers. I mean, seriously, how can you not LOVE Emily?? She is just perfect! Who wouldn’t want her to end up with their brother? Jef ends the date by reading a letter he wrote while he was on the plane from Prague. He tells her all the things he loves about her, but honestly it was the part where he talked about all the things he would love to do with Ricky that brought tears to my eyes. She is downright giddy and says she had the best day… it was perfect.
Arie – Scottsdale, AZ – starting out on the Indycar race track. He takes her for a spin around the track in his race car. They sit down to talk and Arie’s telling her how European (they’re dutch) and different his parents are. He’s very nervous about it and that’s making Emily nervous. He warns that his mom is going to be skeptical. So her goal is to win over his mom. She’s meeting his parents, twin brothers, and sister. The first time his mom was ever in the United States she was in Charlotte, NC. They took part of their honeymoon there. That’s pretty cool! Then she starts speaking to Arie in Dutch, and Arie responds in Dutch. Emily is just sitting there… that’s really awkward and rude, really. It’s this whole conversation right in front of her. So finally Arie ends it. His mom then pulls her aside. She starts questioning what happened after Brad proposed and why it didn’t work out. She explains that she didn’t ask Brad enough questions and they didn’t have the same foundations. Emily asks about how much Arie travels and if it can work out with his line of work. His mom says she knows it can work since Arie’s dad is a race car driver too and it’s the only life she’s known, and she loves it. His dad explains to Arie that Emily has a lot of great qualities and he approves. Arie says he’s definitely going to marry Emily and he doesn’t think of it any other way.
Sean – Dallas, TX – here we go…. can’t wait to find out what the secret is! I hope it doesn’t turn out to be something lame, but I also don’t want it to be so huge that I don’t like him anymore. The go to a park with the dogs and just relax. The dogs are very well behaved. She says that she just doesn’t think there are any skeletons in his closet so she doesn’t feel the need to dig around. She feels like Sean is just so perfect and she’s worried she won’t be perfect enough for his family. Sean’s parents’ house is gorgeous. It’s not a “simple life” as he kept trying to portray. She’s meeting his parents, his sister and her family. Here comes the bomb …. Sean drops the bomb that he still lives at home. Sean tells her in front of his whole family so of course she reacts like it’s so cool. But it definitely sets up some red flags. He brings her up to his room and it’s a complete PIG STY with stuffed animals everywhere, clothes everything, football, etc. This man is acting like he’s in high school!! He says “I wish my mom would have cleaned up a little bit”. WHAT???? Sean!!!! You were so perfect!!! I am so disappointed!!! He even has names for all the stuffed animals!! OMG!!! It was all a joke!!! THANK goodness!!!! hahaha… I totally fell for it. So they talk with his family more and of course they love Emily too! Again, who wouldn’t??!
Now comes Emily’s tough decision… Chris is obviously my least favorite, but I still think he’s a good person and I feel so bad for Emily having to make this decision. It would be really hard to let someone go after meeting their family. She says she has super strong feelings for the other three, so it’s pretty obvious it’s going to be Chris.
Oh! Bachelor Pad preview! Looks good!!!
Rose Ceremony… Arie, Jef, last rose goes to….. Sean. Chris is going home. 😦 While I feel the other three are better suited for Emily, I still feel bad for Chris. He just had his heartbroken. Chris is pissed. He’s very blindsided. I kind of feel like she led him on a lot. I think she shouldn’t have been so cozy with him and she have given some sort of sign. Ohh Chris is angry. Poor guy 😦 But I have no clue out of the 3 left who she will send home next week!! It’s going to be tough!
The new season of Bachelor Pad starts July 23, 2012 and I can’t wait! The only thing not exciting about the premier is the cast. The cast primarily made up from Ben, Jillian, and Emily’s seasons doesn’t have any of my “favorites” although it does have some people that we all love to hate. i.e. Blakeley from Ben’s season and Kalon from Emily’s season who called her daughter “baggage”.
I would be lying if I didn’t say that I had to google who some of these people are because most of them were fairly insignificant in the seasons they were on. So to make it easier for you I have included their pictures. Here’s the list of 2012 Bachelor Pad contestants:
?????????
Mystery Man – From Emily’s Season… not yet announced until after Emily’s season has ended.
The Ladies:
In addition, as a twist this year, there will be six “Super Fans” that will join the cast. Think the producers were looking for some new blood as the old blood is getting a bit stale. Either way the usual antics and competitions and romances that spark during the show will keep it interesting enough that I will want to tune in!
UPDATE!!!! The mystery man who is the final contestant from Emily’s season is Chris Bukowski who was just kicked off Emily’s season this week! I am kind of hoping he finds true love in the Pad. 🙂
I have never enjoyed a Bachelor/Bachelorette season more than this one. Each Monday I am just dying to watch and this one is no exception. Now that it’s getting down to mostly guys that I like (minus Doug and John) it is just sooo good to me!
Tonight’s episode takes place in the beautiful city of Prague. 4 guys get roses and get to then get to take Emily back to their hometown next week. There are 3 one-on-one dates and 1 group date. No roses on the one-on-ones and one rose on the group date. Arie gets the first one on one date card. Emily is so smitten with Arie and vice versa. They just look so relaxed together. However, Emily just revealed that she knows something about Arie that he doesn’t know that she knows. She’s talking about loyalty and it’s weighing heavily on her mind that Arie has been keeping something from her. He had a short relationship with one of the producers, Cassie Lambert, on the show and he’s been hiding that from her. Apparently it was several years ago, and Emily didn’t know about this when filming began, but Cassie took it upon herself to tell Emily once things started to get serious between Emily and Arie. Ohhhh this is good! So they show an interview that Cassie did with Emily. And Emily says she just wishes she knew from the beginning and the fact that he’s never said anything makes her skeptical of anything else that he might be hiding. Arie admits that he used to have a tattoo of a girl’s name on him, but he had it covered up. Even after Emily saying over and over how much trust and honesty is important to her he still doesn’t tell her about Cassie. So Chris Harrison says that Arie, Emily, and Cassie had a discussion off camera about the relationship and Arie felt it was so long ago and so brief that it didn’t matter. Cut to Emily and Arie being so lovey dovey but they have smirks on their face the whole time… there’s this weird awkwardness to it. Almost like Cassie is sitting there watching them and now Emily feels weird about Cassie watching them fall in love. AWKWARD!!!
Date card number 2 arrives to the boys… John…. Gets the next one on one date. Yawn!
Back to the awkward smirky date with Arie. He then tells her that when they were in Croatia was when he realized he loved her. This whole scene looks like it was filmed after the whole season was over. It seems scripted and contrived. Not that it doesn’t seem sincere, but there’s just something about it that’s off. Anybody else notice this?
So John and Emily start their date off on a boat tour of Prague. Her whole body language just doesn’t seem like she’s into him at all. She’s sitting very far away from him and leaning away, not looking him in the eyes. They get to paint on the John Lennon wall and then they try to put a pad lock on this gate that signifies eternal love and it doesn’t go on. John tries to force it which Emily says is just like their relationship. Yeah, John’s going home this week.
Back at the men’s place, Chris is really on edge. He really wants to spend time with Emily and he’s going crazy. It’s bothering him a lot.
Emily and John have dinner in a dungeon. This romantic setting and John tells this sob story about his ex cheating on him. He opens up, but it almost seems like he has too much bitterness towards his ex. She says she feels so much closer to him and I can tell she’s a little more open to him, but I’m still not seeing any spark there.
Date card #3 moment of truth…. Sean, Doug, and Chris…. so Jef gets the final one-on-one date. John comes back home and tells the guys that it went really well. Sean says he has to see Emily and he takes to the streets looking for her. Starts calling out her name in the streets… running through the streets… searching everywhere for her. She’s walking down this corridor way and he finds her and runs after her. Sean is just GLOWING and tells her he just had to see her. She was so surprised and so happy to see him. She says her face hurts for smiling so much. They go out for a drink and they both just seem so doggone happy!! I love Emily and Sean together!!
Group date time! Sean, Chris, and Doug… Horse-drawn carriage pulls up. Chris is continuing his sulking. Be a man, dude. Lighten up! They go up to a huge castle. Doug is just stoked. Doug gives this speech about how gracious Emily is and what a great hostess she is. She takes him aside first to give him some one on one time. Their body language is completely awkward and he still doesn’t want to get close to her. I can tell he does really like her, but he’s too much of a young boy. He’s too shy to even put his arm around her or anything. She needs to feel wanted and she’s not getting that from him. She says “I know what I have to do”…. here it comes… she’s going to send him home… ugh… she’s telling him that he’s been moving too slowly and it’s the longest “see ya” speech ever and he kisses her at the most awkward time!! She tells him “thank you for that”. And then continues with her goodbye speech. He then tells her that he feels stupid for giving her that kiss, and she says “oh no, don’t be.” He’s like, “okay, no problem. Take care of yourself. See ya.” hahah…. the strangest goodbye at this stage in the show ever!! Hopefully this will be a learning experience for him. I knew he wasn’t right for her from the beginning, but I do kind of feel bad for the guy.
Back to the date and now it’s two-on-one and it’s even more AWKWARD! Sean gets one on one time with her first before Chris. They are both still beaming from the previous night. Meanwhile Chris is further getting jealous and going crazy. Chris says he wants an explanation why he didn’t get a one-on-one date. They go off to talk and he basically turns to mush. He plays it off like it’s driving him crazy in a jokingly kind of way. She comforts him and tells him that he just makes the best of everything and that’s what she loves about him. And they kiss. Then they go back and meet up with Sean and she gives Sean the rose. She said it’s just a symbol of who’s family she’s ready to meet. Chris is really upset, but doesn’t show it too much to her. He says in his interview how pissed off he is and how offended he is that she said she’s ready to meet Sean’s family and not his. He says “how f*cked up is that?!” If Chris doesn’t cool it he’s going to end up going home instead of John. John really should be the one to go home, but this is seriously an ugly side of Chris.
Next morning Chris is back to sulking. Emily comes and picks up Jef. They have a cute date around town. They go to a puppet (marionette) store. They buy marionettes that remind them of themselves and Jef runs back in the store and buys a small one for Ricky. They go to a library and reenact their relationship with the puppets and it is so adorable!! He makes her laugh a lot. Jef then uses the puppet to tell Emily how he feels. He ends it with “Can we get a dog together?” Cute! Can’t decide if I like Jef or Sean more at this point! I love them both and Arie is a close 3rd! Jef talks about his family and how he can’t wait for them to meet her. He then told her that he once dumped a girl because his family didn’t like her. That kind of freaks her out. But then they lay on the floor together and have a really cool conversation about what they’d like to see in the future. It seems like one of the deepest conversations she has had with any of the guys and yet also lighthearted at the same time because they really see eye to eye on everything. I love her with Jef!!
Rose ceremony time and Chris is freaking out. He’s got tears in his eyes…. noooooooo…. KISS OF DEATH!!! Emily tells Chris Harrison that her mind is made up and there will be no cocktail party. Chris (contestant Chris) freaks out. John says to the camera that he knocked it out of the park and he’s not nervous. Such an ugly side to both of them. Cocky John and insecure Chris. Chris just feels doomed, but I really don’t think it’s going to be him. She seemed pretty assured when she was talking with him and a little more unsure when she was talking to John.
Roses go to…. Sean (already had one), Jef, Arie…. Chris is just shaking…. final rose time…. Chris interrupts and says he really needs to talk to her. Now John is stressing. Chris apologizes to Emily for how he acted in regards to Sean getting the rose over him. He says he’s ready to be the man that Emily deserves. He doesn’t want it to end. Chris now joins back up with the rest of the guys and Emily’s about to hand out the rose…. and calls Chris’ name. Poor John. According to Sean’s twitter tonight he says, “Everybody should know that @jwolfner encouraged Chris to talk to Emily. Wolf handled himself like a man and the guys respected him for it!” Class act both by Sean and John. Good way to go out John, but you need to open up more, dude. Seem like a nice guy, but Emily needs someone with more personality.
Next week hometown dates. I LOVE the hometown date episode!!! You find out so much more about a person by their family and their lifestyle. Ugh… scenes from next week look rough. I knew Emily would have a hard time with these last four guys!! I seriously don’t know how she will pick because it’s written all over her face that she truly likes each of them. Well…. tell next week!
I took a couple weeks off of blogging, way behind on all of my “Real Housewives” shows and although I’ve been keeping up with the Bachelorette, I took a couple episodes off from that as well. Even today, I swore I was just going to sit back and relax and watch the show without blogging, but I am twenty minutes into it and felt the need to discuss what’s going on in the show with someone. So here I am…
The point that made me want to have someone to discuss the episode with was Emily’s one-on-one date with Travis. I have not been a huge fan of him… I see him as too much of a jokester for Emily… however he’s been growing on me a bit. I was happy to see him get the one-on-one date this week, but had a feeling he would be going home. That gut feeling turned out to be correct. She just didn’t have that spark with him, no romantic feelings, and I felt bad really bad for him being so heartbroken. I dated a couple guys like that (albeit in high school, but nonetheless dated) who were so sweet and funny and any girl would be lucky to have them, but there just wasn’t that spark. Those are the hardest guys to let go because there’s truly nothing they could have done differently, it just wasn’t there. And although I feel bad for Travis and think he’s sweet… I really hope he’s not the next Bachelor. I don’t feel that spark for him either. 😉
Group date time… She has all the front runners on this date: Sean, Arie, Chris, Jef, Doug …. First they go see the new movie Brave. She then informs them that they will compete in the Highland Games and also wearing the kilt Scottish getup. The guys arrive on donkeys in the middle of nowhere that is set up like Scotland. First task is archery. Chris completely misses completely. He then steps up to the plate first to try the next test which is throwing a log. It doesn’t roll all the way over and gets completely disqualified. Sean broke the log. lol The next task has the men sitting down facing each other (one on one) and they are holding a pole in between them. The object is to flip the other guy past them. Emily draws Chris’ name and he can pick his competitor… he picks Doug… the biggest guy there. Doug won pretty quickly. Chris just sucked at all the tasks. Emily is about to give out the “Bravery Cup”… she offered it to Chris because he chose Doug to go up against and tried his hardest even though he didn’t do great at any of them. They go off for some one-on-one time and snuggle under a blanket and exchange a few kisses.
Night time part of the date. Sean and Emily go off together and meanwhile Arie is freaking out. He’s suddenly very insecure. He goes for a walk with Emily next. He apologizes for London and not telling her about Kalen. She tells him that she loves being around him and he shouldn’t worry and he says he loves being around her. They begin to walk slower and then have a sweet makeout session on the street. She has her time with Jef and it was cute. Then she has her one on one time with Chris and he says he’s falling in love with her. He put it all out on the line and she rewarded him by giving him the rose. Completely crushing the other guys. Okay… the guy going home tonight is the guy who didn’t get any air time on this date and they didn’t show any one on one time with…. I can’t even remember his name. It’s something normal like Scott? Mike? No idea. lol. He’s just blah. He’s going home. He has to! She was kissing on all the other guys!
Now it’s time for her one on one date with Ryan. This should be interesting. The bad boy we all love to hate. The guys all laugh at what an idiot Ryan is and how horrible his lines are. They go on a road trip and then they go oystering. Emily tries an oyster but she just can’t swallow it. She ends up spitting it overboard. Ryan says that she would make a great trophy wife. At dinner Ryan goes over his list of 12 things he wants in a wife. They were all self centered, selfish, and superficial. Emily tells him she just does not think they are wanting the same thing out of a relationship. She tells him that she cannot give him the rose and Ryan says he is shocked. He did not see that coming. Ryan fights tooth and nail. She says she’s not positive she’s making the right decision and he begins to use that to manipulate her. Whew! For a minute I thought maybe she was going to let him stick around. But alas, he’s gone! Yay!!
Arie knows this has been a tough week on Emily, so he sneaks out to go see her. He tells her that he’s happy she has a good judge of character. She gives him Ryan’s rose but tells him he has to hide it so no one knows he was there. They are so cute together!! How is she ever going to pick between Arie, Sean, and Jef?!!! He says “I could ask that girl to marry me tomorrow. It feels good.” Awwwww
John!! He’s the guy I couldn’t think of the name of earlier. Emily admits that Doug and John are on the bubble and at this point she feels like John is going home. But she wants more one on one time with both of them. John shows Emily his grandparents’ funeral cards that he carries around with him in his wallet all the time. He believes that his grandpa is his guardian angel “moving the chess pieces” in his life, he explains.
Now she’s having the most awkward conversation with Doug. She’s telling him basically that he needs to make a move, she needs to be pursued. And tries to get him to be more confident. OHHHH!! Doug is now crying. KISS OF DEATH! He will be going home. She has kicked off every guy to cry in the episode.
Rose ceremony: Chris already has a rose, then they go to Sean, Jef, Arie….. she just quietly walks out with one rose left… she tells Chris Harrison she doesn’t know what to do… She walks back in the room… and tells John and Doug that she can’t hand out the final rose…. in walks Chris with an extra rose…. so both of them get the rose. That was pretty staged… that was all very planned. However, I can’t imagine that it will be anybody other than John or Doug to go home next. Just delaying the inevitable.
So scenes from the next episode are shown and it says the truth comes out about Arie’s former relationship with a producer. Hmm… I haven’t been reading online spoilers about Arie, because I heard they’re out there, but I want to see how everything unfolds naturally. So this is all news to me! Can’t wait for next week!
