Ashlee is getting ready to leave for Las Vegas to go live with her Aunt and Uncle at her parent’s suggestion. They said she either had to live with them or be kicked out of the house. Jacqueline just can’t handle her anymore. Caroline’s son, Albie, is driving her to the airport. Ashlee and Jacqueline have just a little goodbye. Not much with it.
Caroline’s daughter goes with Caroline for a consult about her weight. He gives her this yellow stuff to drink and says that will be her meal along with some fruit. Oy! I couldn’t do that! She wants to lose 30-40 lbs.
Joe Guidice had to get rid of his restaurant. It just wasn’t working out. Now he’s talking about buying a gas station and putting up a gorgeous building for senior citizens. He doesn’t seem to have a clear business model on what he’s doing with it. Also seems like that Teresa had no clue about that.
Rich, Kathy’s husband, goes into the gas station that he owns to check in on things and brings his son with him. His son says he doesn’t want to go into the gas station business because he doesn’t want to always follow the rules. He’d rather go into something like “real estate.” Sounds like one shady kid!!
So Albie drops Ashlee off at the airport to go to Las Vegas. He’s on the drive home and she calls and says she missed the flight. Of course she did, because she is just that irresponsible. The next flight is at 7:45 she tells him and that’s 4 hours away. Albie calls Chris and apologizes for not walking her to the gate. She’s on standby if she doesn’t get on, she’s going to come back home. Jacqueline is really upset. She’s having everyone over. Jacqueline is blaming Albie for not walking her to security. Everyone gets there and in walks Ashlee and her giant attitude. I know she’s the way she is because of Jacqueline’s lenient parenting in Ashlee’s younger years, but holy cow, I hope my daughter doesn’t turn out like her!!
Back at Jacqueline’s dinner party… everyone is there and they are just waiting for Teresa’s arrival. Everyone’s trying really hard to get along with her and not let past things surface. Teresa makes a big speech about her book and says she didn’t write it to offend anyone and whoever took offense to she apologizes. Rich asks if she’s going to pull it off the shelves and reprint it. She says no, and then starts to get defensive, saying she also wrote amazing things about people. It was all meant in fun she says, “as a joke.” This isn’t going to go over very well. It probably would have been better just leaving the elephant in the room and not pointing it out to everyone. The Melissa can’t take it anymore and says really condescendingly “that’s okay, we’ll take one for the team so that you can make a little extra money.” hehehe…. love it!! Teresa thinks she apologized, but she didn’t really, and is now like, “okay, let’s go play poker!”
Joe Guidice is already on Rich’s nerves. Guidice starts mocking Gorda about his height. So Rich starts in and says he’d like to see him grow 8 inches and says “why don’t you stand up next to me?” So Guidice goes to grab Rich’s balls, so Rich swings at Guidice and gives him a black eye. But they all say it was an accident. The guys say that they just tried to wrestle.
Teresa goes to her book signing while her husband nurses his wounds. Kathy’s son is about to go on a date and Kathy discovers that some chick sent Joey (her son) nude pics on Twitter. She sends the girl a message back saying “can’t you do something better with your beauty than send my 15 year old son pics?”
Melissa is working on her new song in her basement studio and honestly it sounds great. I really like her voice and the beat of the song.
Albie, Christopher, and Chris went to have dinner at Joe Guidice’s house. Joe spends a lot of the time bad mouthing Joe Gorda. It really makes the other guys uncomfortable. They don’t want to be in the middle.
Melissa plans a romantic dinner for Joe and unveils her song she wrote about their relationship. They are the cutest couple ever. I don’t feel that it’s fake. They both seem so enamored with each other. I love it! Joe, of course, then carries Melissa to the bedroom. He’s got all this “poison” he says in him that he has to get out.
Attempt #2 to get Ashlee on a plane to Vegas. This time her stepdad, Chris, takes her. Jacqueline is seen back home breaking down while looking through old photos of Ashlee. “You never know what their future holds when they’re little” she says. That really struck with me having small children and trying to mold them into good human beings. I really feel for Jacqueline. She got pregnant at a young age and has just done the best she could and Ashlee has a complete lack of respect for anyone and everyone.
Now that it’s getting down to the wire, Celebrity Apprentice has been getting so good! I’ve been really looking forward to this episode.
Aubrey is having a field day gloating about her win last week. Her ego is now ginormous! Down to two men and 4 women despite the women starting off on a horrific losing streak.
Aubrey’s charity is GLSEN – Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network, that focuses on bullying, especially against the LGBT community in school. Aubrey talks about how she was bullied in school and couldn’t even find teachers to back her. As much as I sometimes rip on Aubrey, I really like this charity she has chosen. It’s nice that she has been able to deliver a check to them.
The task: Write and produce a 90 sec jingle for Good Sam and performing it live in front of an audience. Arsenio has taken on the role of Project Manager for his team and Dayana’s team has stepped up to be PM of her team.
So the teams are in their vans going to location and Dayana asks, “so are jingles like a christmas feeling all of the time?” hahaha. I don’t know if this is a language barrier issue or an IQ problem, but made me laugh regardless.
Aubrey and Arsenio are already building tension between them when she suggests either doing a cheerleader theme or doing a tap dancer thing. She says she could teach Arsenio how to tap dance, and he says as a black man there is no way he is tap dancing. The tension is just building! After the exec from Good Sam comes in, and talks about how the “mascot” is the central piece and Aubrey asks if he’s like a cheerleader and the exec says yes… and so much more. THEN Arsenio jumps on board with Aubrey’s idea and is willing to do a cheerleader themed jingle.
The exec tells Dayana’s team to go for fun, excitement, and not to play it safe. The branding is important. Lisa has an idea of going with a 60’s feel for the jingle. I’m not sure how well that fits with fun and exciting. Seems too old school for me, but will have to see how it plays out.
Back to Aubrey’s team… the musicians and engineers come in and Aubrey explains that it’s like a “Holla Back Girl”, Gwen Stefani type cheerleading feel. Arsenio gives her the reins of writing the music and really running with it with the musicians. Looks like creatively they’re getting a good handle on things.
Clay’s team, I mean Dayana’s (lol), sits with the musicians and they don’t seem to have much of a direction. Dayana has no clue and they can’t decide on genre. Dayana just concedes and goes with the 60’s team because of lack of time. Dayana asks if they can add a little more “pink, or yellow” to it. The musicians just look at her blankly. I mean… what??? She’s not even making sense! She also seems to think that “Sam” and “Track” rhyme. “It’s like the blind leading the seeing” Clay says. Unless the final product is phenomenal, this team is completely self destructing.
So once again, Don Jr comes in the room and Aubrey steps aside to bash them all. Saying things like, “Arsenio’s not creative. I’m the only one that’s creative….” even if that were true… she looks HORRIBLE calling everyone out like that on a task that’s actually going rather smoothly.
Don Jr now comes into Dayana’s team and Dayana tells him how great it is that Clay is on their team because he really knows what he’s doing. Lisa gets offended and says that the ideas have really come from both of them. Dayana says Clay is an expert, and Lisa has the loudest voice, so it’s hard to get her ideas through. Clay says the bulk of the writing has been done by Lisa. Dayana defends herself and Lisa starts crying and then yelling and swearing at her. She went from 0 to 60 in two seconds. She points her finger in Dayana’s face and yells “do this whole thing yourself because you are out of line AGAIN…” and storms out of the room. She comes back in the room still calling Dayana a little bitch and won’t speak to her until she gets an apology from her. Ugh! How childish. They both drive me crazy. Dayana isn’t smart, but Lisa is just flat out mean.
Arsenio sends Aubrey and Teresa to the rehearsal hall to work on choreography. On the way there, Aubrey calls Arsenio to get a better idea of what he would like it all to look like. All the while she’s rolling her eyes and gets off the phone and says “he has no idea what he’s doing.” So when they get there, Audrey just takes over with her own idea and disregards what Arsenio had told her on the phone. Typical Audrey. She even moves his drum solo to the end instead of the beginning where he wanted. Arsenio arrives and Aubrey is like “don’t worry, we already got it all worked out.” Arsenio tries to get her to move his drum solo back to where it was and she says no, so he begins to pout. Meanwhile… what is Teresa’s role in this whole task?? I haven’t seen her do anything except a little bit of signage.
Clay and Dayana get into a tiff regarding the staging and choreography. They just cannot work together on that team. Part of it is Clay and Lisa’s lack of respect for Dayana and part of it is Dayana acting like she knows about music when she doesn’t know anything.
Performance time! Dayana’s team goes first… 60’s theme – Lisa is playing the role of a radio announcer “Amanda Hugginkiss” (have to say I’ve always HATED that name and hate when people call me that!!) Clay sings the jingle the with backup singers. Dayana makes a remark to the camera that she thought they were disrespectful for not including her. ??? She was the project manager! That’s her fault she wasn’t included in the final piece, not theirs. After the performance was done, Dayana comes out to thank everyone, but she’s not miked and you can’t hear a word she’s saying. Not a very good move. Overall I just found the performance was really cheesy. Execs said they played it safe, but they liked it.
Arenio’s team’s turn! Arsenio and Teresa come out as a couple that has been stranded by their car breaking down. I thought it was kind of cute, but Aubrey says they are terrible. “It’s difficult when people aren’t as good at doing things as you are.” she says. OMG… her ego!! Teresa says “Arensio, I put the Good Sam app on your phone!” Then the Good Sam cheerleaders come out. I really like Aubrey’s jingle and her voice. Arsenio rapped at the end and it was great. I think they did a better job at incorporating the brand and what Good Sam is all about. The exec liked it, but he didn’t LOVE the cheerleader outfit… it was a bit revealing. But to me, it appears he prefers their performance anyway.
BOARDROOM! Arsenio’s team stays fairly kumbayah and lovey, but of course Dayana’s team immediately tears her apart. I just hate how childish and unprofessional Lisa acts. Lisa and Dayana just attack each other, mostly Lisa attacking Dayana, and Clay sits back quietly like a smart man should. Obviously Dayana’s failure of leadership is coming under fire. I have no doubt that Dayana should be fired if her team loses, but I can’t stand Lisa’s attitude!! She’s just crazy. Finally… the verdict… Arsenio’s team won!!! Dayana’s team lost. No surprise here, but I’m happy. Now is it going to come down to Dayana because she’s the project manager or Lisa because she’s was the brains behind the concept and just pure evil? My hunch is Dayana. Yup, Dayana is fired. FINALLY!!! Now this will get interesting with just Lisa and Clay left on the team. I don’t think Dayana is very bright, but I still liked her overall. I liked how she was able to stay calm and composed through everything. It was definitely her time to go though.

Another one bites the dust!
“Somebody to Love” is performed by The Queen Extravaganza. I love this song, I do not love this lead singer guy. In fact, I’m fast forwarding.
Turns out Ryan Seacrest was sick last night and they even kept a puke bucket just to the side of the stage last night because he was in fact that ill. He didn’t know if he would be able to host last night and Nigel Lithgoe was going to step in. Ryan was a no show at rehearsals, but made it through the show last night without anyone even really noticing he wasn’t feeling well. The man is a pro.
Media training with TMZ. The “reporters” at TMZ grill the contestants with hard questions they may be asked once they’re out in public and famous. They ask Skylar if it was hard to see Colton go… because they’re dating. She turns bright red and denies that they’re dating and says they’re just friends, but her laughter says something different. Body language shows that at least something’s going on there. Cute! Jessica has over 200 YouTube videos of herself out there. lol
Okay, results time…. Jessica & Elise… this one should be a no-brainer who is safe and who is in the bottom 3. Jessica is safe and Elise is in the bottom 3.
Idol tour kicks off in July in Detroit! Casey Abrams is on stage with even more hair than he had last year.
“Idol Favorite” Stefano is now performing. I was never a fan of his last year, but this song is pretty catchy and his dance moves are pretty smooth. He’s singing with a background track of his voice though. That’s a little weird. He’s a good dancer though.
Hollie & Joshua are up… again, seems like a no brainer that Hollie will be in the bottom three and Joshua will be in the top three. Yup, that was pretty anticlimactic… Hollie is in the bottom 3.
Katy Perry performance: “Part of Me” The set and her outfit is pretty cool with an army / battlefield type setting. In camouflage, fake smoke. night vision camera, it’s pretty interesting to watch. The song and vocals are just okay though.
So You Think You Can Dance premiers May 24th!
Skylar & Phillip: This is a tricky one… my prediction is that Skylar is safe and Phillip is in the bottom three. Wow, I am wrong. Skylar is in the bottom three… Phillip is safe! But immediately Skylar is saved and sent back to the couches.
So it is down to Elise or Hollie. I think it will be Elise. This is really hard because I think she’s uber talented, but it’s just her time. Yup, Elise is eliminated. Elise Testone is going home. I’m a bit sad, but there really isn’t anybody else that I think deserves to go instead of her. Do you think the right person went home?
I’m sad that it’s Queen night and Colton isn’t performing. He would have done really well tonight! I love Queen! Can’t believe Freddie Mercury’s been gone since 1991. Doesn’t seem like that long ago. The contestants sit down with two band members from Queen and they said that Freddie Mercury was actually very shy, but became a rock god once he got on stage. That’s very surprising to me.
The Final 6 perform a medley with Brian May and Roger Taylor from Queen. They sing a mash up of Queen songs and it is actually super good! Elise and Skylar sound the best with their gritty, rock voices, but even Joshua is killing it. Elise is definitely the star of this medley though. She was born to sing this kind of music. She’s right in her element.
Jessica Sanchez: Bohemian Rhapsody… okay, I like it better than I thought I would, but I hated how they put three of her heads on the screen in the background like they did in the original music video. That was just purely cheesy. Ouch, and the part of the song that’s hard rock was a little rough, but the slower softer parts of the song were good.
Sidenote… not a fan of J-Lo’s gold outfit.
Skylar Laine: The Show Must Go On: Okay, I LOVE this!! With the orchestra, the band, and her voice… this is probably my favorite performance of this season so far. Gave me chills! Love love love! She could win this thing. AMAZING
Joshua Ledet: Crazy Little Thing Called Love: Good song choice for him considering it’s Queen and rock. However, I’m not loving it. He’s singing in the higher range that I just don’t care for on him. It’s too whiny/screamy/screechy. Just not for me. Judges give him a standing ovation?? I just don’t get it. I guarantee you, if Joshua wins, he will not sell records. It will be like Taylor Hicks all over again.
Elise Testone: I Want It All: Again, I will say she is definitely in her element. She looks more comfortable than usual up on stage. She is really giving it her all. I am glad that she’s been able to hang around in this competition. I don’t think she will win it, but she is good and she is entertaining and deserves to be there right now. Hey, J-Lo just said she’s in her element. Took the words out of my mouth! 🙂
Phillip Phillips: Fat Bottom Girls: I love that he chose this song! He’s laughing as he sings it because the lyrics are hysterical. I love it though. I love his energy, he’s adorable, and he performed it well! Steven and Jennifer liked it, but Randy thought it was just good. I agree it wasn’t the BEST performance of the night, but I still liked it and love him.
Hollie Cavanaugh: Save Me: Starting off pretty shaky. But now the choir and band are joining in and it’s getting better, stronger. Overall I think the song was a little too big for her or in the wrong key or something. Usually I would say she has a strong enough voice to sing anything, but not tonight.
Round 2: Contestants get to pick their own songs of any era and genre
Jessica Sanchez: Dance With My Father: She explains that this song means a lot to her because her father is in the military and was deployed to Afghanistan and will be going to Singapore soon. She said she’s a big daddy’s girl. I’ve never been a fan of this song for some reason, but DANG can Jessica sing! I like this so much better than the original version of this song by Luther Vandross. DAMN she can sing! J-Lo says it’s the most beautiful she’s ever heard that song sung. BEAUTIFUL!
Skylar Laine: Tattoos on this Town? I think is the name of the song. It’s okay. I almost think she can sing rock better than country. It’s a little twangy for my tastes, but it was cute.
Joshua Ledet: I Am Ready For Love: His vocal control is incredible this time. It’s much softer and smoother. This is the side of Josh that I like. This is a great performance. Wow, he did this run at the end that was just so on pitch and so controlled. Not usually a big fan, but wow. Seriously wow. This one deserved the standing ovation.
Elise Testone: Bold As Love by Jimi Hendrix: No idea what song this is, but I’m liking it. I think it could hurt her that she’s not singing a more familiar song. It’s got to be an incredibly hard song to sing. It’s half talking, half singing, with a bit of scatting in it. Very interesting song! Would like to know what the original sounds like. Her husband, Wallace, performed with her. Steven said the same as me that you have to be careful picking a song no one knows.
Phillip Phillips: The Stone by Dave Matthews Band: Oh Phillip… what have you done? His vocals were so boring during this song. Oh I did not like this at all and it pains me to say that. I LOVE Phillip… I do not love this performance. Steven didn’t like it, J-Lo thought it was too artsy she said he needs to stick more mainstream until the end, but Randy disagrees.
Hollie Cavanaugh: The Climb: Very good! I liked it…. not much else to say about it though. Very good and powerful. Standing ovation from the judges.
OKay, my bottom three picks would be: Elise, Phillip, and Hollie. Even though I love all three, it’s getting hard. Phillip will be safe, but he chose the wrong song.
Gretchen visits Alexis at her home to see a tape of Alexis on Fox live. Gretchen reveals that she was actually asked first for this part on the news but because of schedule conflicts she couldn’t do it. She said that they keep calling her asking her to do it, but she is happy Alexis is doing it. Alexis didn’t know that Gretchen had been called first for this part and is speechless and annoyed that Gretchen even told her that. Alexis has her over to ask for her advice but as Gretchen gives her advice Alexis gets defensive. She says she thought Gretchen would have been more “supportive” and feels that her relationship with Tamra has made her more critical and that Gretchen just can’t be happy for Alexis. But in reality, Alexis is TERRIBLE at her job and she doesn’t realize how nice Gretchen really was being by just giving her the few critiques that she did.
Heather got a call from her agent telling her about an audition she should go do for a television series. She feels unsettled auditioning for a role and being able to keep up with being a mom of four kids under the age of 7.
Gretchen calls each of the ladies to see if they’re going to Las Vegas to see her perform with the Pussycat Dolls. Tamra and Alexis are definitely on board. She still has to call Vicki and talk with her about what happened at the Bunko party.
Heather gets back from her audition and tells her husband that the show she auditioned for films in Canada. Her husband isn’t thrilled with this. He keeps bringing up how many hours she’s on set even when she doesn’t have a large role. He comes around though and says whatever makes her happy he’ll support. If it means getting two nannies, he’ll do it. They have such a sweet and grounded relationship. I love it!
Alexis sits down to have a similar discussion with her husband, Jim. Alexis is telling him how much she loves her Fox 5 job and wants to get some sort of coach. He doesn’t see how that fits into being a wife and a mother. Her goal is to someday be a host of a show. Jim is not liking this at all. Jim says an acting coach would be one more thing that would taking her away from the family. He doesn’t like her giving up even more time with the family. Jim has the complete opposite take on this situation than Heather’s husband. Men like him driving me insane. A woman has an important role in the family, but she can have important careers outside the home as well.
Vicki has decided to go to Vegas to see Gretchen. She’s willing to move past and believes they both owe each other an apology, but until then it will just be the elephant in the room.
Gretchen arrives in Las Vegas with Slade. She is super excited and can’t believe that a childhood dream of hers is coming true. They go up to her suite at the Cosmopolitan and it is absolutely gorgeous! The view is unbelievable and the suite is totally ritzy. She has only one rehearsal before the live show. She looks hot, but her voice is not so good. Okay, it’s pretty bad, let’s be honest. But seriously, is anyone going to care that she was pitchy while singing “Fever”? Although the director is telling her it’s all about the vocals. Slade has complete confidence that once it’s showtime she’s going to be amazing. But right now she is absolutely freaking out.
Alexis and Jim are late for dinner with the rest of the crew in Vegas because she got her makeup botched by a makeup artist in her hotel room. Jim made her take it all off and start all over again. She said the makeup artist must have been trying to cover up her bruises from the nose job. Brooks is telling Jim and Alexis about some affirmation that he gave Vicki about telling her she’s world. Everyone thinks Brooks is just full on BS. It seems like he just says everything that sounds good, but isn’t sincere about any of it. He comes off like a big con artist.
Gretchen is about to go out on stage and Alexis corners her to say a prayer for her. Hilarious! Praying that she does well on her Pussycat Doll gig. I’m sure God is very concerned about that. And then the episode cuts off and we have to wait until NEXT week to see her performance! But the next episode looks like a doozy! Gretchen’s performance, then Vicki apologizes for past stuff but it looks like it may not go so well, and Breana has something to tell her mom, Vicki. She says she’s going to drop a bomb on her. Going to be good!
I am so happy I do not have to wait any longer for the new season of RHONJ. Last season ended with Teresa’s newest cookbook coming out and shocking everyone with what was inside. She slammed not only her family who she had been feuding the whole season with, but also her friends that have stayed by her side from day one: Caroline and Jacqueline. At last season’s reunion, Jacqueline was a no show and Andy pointed out that they were in the middle of filming season 4 (this season). Caroline explains that she just couldn’t come and look at Teresa.
After showing the clip from the reunion where Teresa says Caroline and Jacqueline are no longer like family but can’t explain why because says “that’s fourth season, remember? And we can’t go there” it flashes to 4 months earlier. So now we’re watching what happened between the end of season 3 and the taping of the reunion. It’s summer time, Kathy’s family is out grilling, and the subject of Teresa’s cookbook is brought up. Apparently the book just came out and Joe Gorga hasn’t read it yet, doesn’t know anything about it. Kathy’s husband reads an excerpt from the book that slams Melissa Gorga, Teresa’s sister-in-law. Joe, Teresa’s brother, is ticked. Melissa and Joe are trying to look past it though in order to mend their relationship with Teresa.
Pan to Caroline’s house now where her whole family and Jacqueline’s whole family is standing around discussing the cookbook too. The subject then moves to Jacqueline’s daughter, Ashley, and Jacqueline explains she’s at the end of her rope with her. Apparently Ashley has dyed her hair blonde, has multiple tattoos, and is still being disrespectful.
In walks Teresa and Joe Guidice. You could cut the tension with a knife. Teresa pulls Caroline aside and says she didn’t mean anything offensive in the book and meant it all as a joke. Caroline is very hurt, but Teresa isn’t really owning up to it. Caroline’s especially mad about the line she put in the book about her son, Christopher. Teresa says she stands by her book 110%. So therefore she’s not really apologizing.
Kathy, Melissa, Teresa and husbands are packing to go to the Jersey Shore for a vacation and Melissa has family there. Meanwhile, Jacqueline has a life coach come to the house to discuss Ashley and the problems they have with her. Back to Joe and Melissa…. Joe tells her that Teresa called him up the other day and said, “You know if a richer guy came along, Melissa would leave you for him.” Melissa gets mad at Joe for telling her that she said this because now she’s mad at Teresa but can’t bring it up to her because it will make her (Melissa) look bad. Melissa’s really working hard on trying to mend the relationship and not pick a fight over everything.
Carolyn goes to see a doc about her migraines and he tells her that it’s probably menopause. She’s getting old, he tells her. He jokes that she should get new friends to eliviate some stress.
They keep showing interactions between Teresa, Joe, and their 4 daughters. These girls are just running wild and they have the foulest mouths of any little girls I’ve ever seen. These girls, all under 11, have said the word “stupid” more times in 3 minutes worth of tape than most kids say in their lifetimes. Teresa confronts Joe about how their daughter Gia, the 11 year old, has read the magazines that say Joe might be going to prison, he’s cheating on Teresa, etc. Joe just says “it is what it is.” Teresa tells Gia none of it’s true, but truth is, they don’t know yet if Joe is going to prison or not.
Kathy, Melissa, and their families discuss Teresa and how whatever is going on in Teresa’s family she tries to project it onto Melissa’s family. Teresa’s not happily married so she says Melissa’s not happily married, etc. Teresa is just a hot mess in every sense of the word and it’s frustrating just as a viewer that Teresa can’t see that, I can’t imagine how hard it would be to actually be related to her.
Joe Gorda tells Teresa he will always be her brother and will always be there for her. Teresa says “Joe (her husband) was gone for a week and you didn’t even call me.” Joe was really trying to be sincere, but Teresa keeps trying to pick a fight. They kind of mend things a bit and decide to keep working on their relationship.
Jacqueline and her husband have a talk with Ashley and tell her she either needs to leave in the morning to go live with her aunt and uncle in Las Vegas or she needs to move out and then she’s completely cut off. She reluctantly decides she will move to Vegas.
Scenes are shown from the season and it just looks like sooo much drama with Teresa. Usually I like watching this kind of drama unfold, but in this circumstance I just feel sad. I am sad for Caroline and especially Jacqueline to have lost their friend and someone they stood by for years completely change and turn into this ugly, disrespectful, delusional person. Looks like the entire season will be everyone against Teresa.
